Why in the world did Riot make Miss Fortune come up on her tiptoes when she autoattacks? It looks derpy as all get out.
Nice skins! Though it annoys me that
Cutpurse Twisted Fate
is an anachronism (he gained magic after he sold out Graves).
IMO they should've just made Captain Fortune the default MF skin. The old one doesn't really blend in with the new Bilgewater theme they're introducing. At all.

********'s a pretty good fertilizer

I've just thought for a moment that it should be Sarah's default skin. But Rito should make tons of $$$ so you should expect that.
But I cannot expect that they made her a ginger, sah kyat~

Ahoy and welcome to the MOBAFire Patch Summary - 5.14!
It's been roughly two weeks since patch 5.13 was released, which means it's about time for a new update to the game. This time, Riot has a pirate-themed patch in store for us, which includes two champion updates as well as a whole bunch of balance changes to other champions, an item rework, new skins and more!
If you feel that might be too much to handle at once, don't worry: there's still some time left before this ship sets sail, giving us ample opportunity to help you guys find your sea legs. Let's get to it!

While there are two champion updates in this patch, the most interesting one to look at without a doubt is the update of Gangplank, the Saltwater Scourge. Though most of his abilities have stayed the same, he has received a new passive in Trial By Fire, while also gaining a different E ability, Powder Keg. On top of that, plundering gold with Parrrley now grants him a unique currency known as "Silver Serpents", which can be used to upgrade his ultimate (several times). His new E, Powder Keg, is especially interesting because of the minigame it adds to the game between Gangplank and his opponent: while destroying a keg before Gangplank is able to grants gold, failing to do so in time can lead to a pretty devastating chain of explosions due to how his kegs can be linked. If you haven't seen his new kit in action yet, make sure to check out his new Champion Spotlight!
Moving on from champion updates, Riot also has some pretty hefty nerfs in store for the three - champions in the table above, with Azir losing the knockup on his Shifting Sands, Evelynn losing 20 damage on her low cooldown Hate Spike at max rank and Ryze receiving damage nerfs on both his Overload and his Spell Flux.
However, while those three champions seem ready to walk the plank, there have of course also been some champions receiving slightly better changes to their kit. For example, Tahm Kench has received buffs to his Tongue Lash and (passive) Devour damage, Elise's spiderlings now deal magic damage, Ekko has a lower mana cost on Timewinder as well as a lower cooldown on Phase Dive, and Darius' Apprehend now briefly grants vision of the area around the pull when cast.
Item Changes
In terms of items, there are two important changes to talk about, the first concerning the Runeglaive enchantment which was added in patch 5.12. Now, the AoE damage only applies to monsters, with double damage being dealt to the first monster hit. In addition to that, the damage from the Spellblade basic attack is no longer converted to magic damage, which overall basically means Riot has shown the middle finger to AP Ezreal mid and the item will only be used by mage junglers, as originally intended.
Zeke's Harbinger is a new item in this patch (rework of Zeke's Herald) which is interesting because it allows champions to bind themselves to allies, at which point the two champions bound together will start generating charges (up to 100). At maximum charges, the Ability Power of both champions is increased by 20% for 6 seconds, while the Critical Strike chance of both champions is increased by 50%.
Note that - at the time of writing this summary - this new item is not yet part of the MOBAFire database; it will be added as soon as possible.
Upcoming Skins
Riot is once again continuing the trend of using combined splash arts for upcoming skins, resulting in a whopping amount of six skins being added to the store over the course of this upcoming patch. Again, the pirate theme is strong in this one.
As far as the price is concerned, Captain Fortune will be available for 975 RP upon release, while all other skins shown below will cost 750 RP.
Cutpurse Twisted Fate
Rogue Admiral Garen
Corsair Quinn

Before we wrap this up, it's about time to point out that all other (undiscussed) changes can be found in the full patch notes. Also, for more info on the (heavily linked) Bilgewater: Burning Tides event, make sure to check out this page!
Having said that, we'd like to know what you think about all changes mentioned above. For example, are you looking forward to giving the new Gangplank a spin? Do you think the other balance changes in this patch were good, or should there perhaps have been more? And finally, do you plan on picking up any of the upcoming skins? Let us know!
