Hello and welcome to the MOBAFire Patch Summary - 6.15!

This is the first patch in preparation for the World Championships. Most of these changes are aimed at competitive-level play, nerfing some of the more dominant champions like Braum and Nidalee as well as changing some things about minions and towers to make lane-swap strategies more risky.

Check out the full patch notes for details on any changes that interest you.

! = Rework / Gameplay Update* = Mostly bugfix(es) and/or display changes+ = Buff- = Nerf~ = Mixed

First we're gonna hit it up with the bot lane changes. Karma, a staple in competitive play, has been targeted with a few nerfs to her shield, Inspire. She can no longer shield minions to deny CS or push faster, and the shield base values were lowered slightly! In addition, her the Mantra bonus movespeed was also nerfed and now must be maxed in order to reach the original movespeed value of 60%.

Sona and Braum also received nerfs due to their overpowering prominence in the meta. Sona actually was hotfixed earlier in 6.14 with sizable base value nerfs to her Aria of Perseverance and Song of Celerity after her win rates skyrocketed at the start of patch 6.14. Braum's Concussive Blows deal much less damage at early levels and Winter's Bite's base damage was reduced by 10, lessening his oppressive damage output in lane.

Moving down the list to the mid lane, Vladimir lost 5 base movespeed and his Sanguine Pool has a longer cooldown, increasing the time window for opponents to catch and kill him. Malzahar's safety has also been reduced with a longer cooldown on Void Shift (especially at level 16) and a much shorter duration on the CC and damage block, from 1 second to 0.25 seconds. Finally, Taliyah also received a small ultimate nerf, raising the cooldown of Weaver's Wall to be more in line with other global ultimates.

Moving in a sideways direction, we find ourselves in the jungle, where a certain cougar lives. Despite the cries of protest of many Nidalee players, Riot is moving forward with the changes to Aspect Of The Cougar, removing the autoattack reset upon switching forms. This cuts out a lot of "free damage" available to skilled Nidalee players, which Riot hopes will allow them to shift more power into her abilities. Early buffs to Javelin Toss / Takedown damage should compensate for some of the lost damage in Nidalee's early jungle clear, but players will have to adapt to the clunkier-feeling transformation cycles and rely more on ability combos to deal damage.

Item Changes

Lord Van Damm's Pillager
Recipe - Caulfield's Warhammer + Jaurim's Fist + 1000 gold (total 3300g)
400 HP, 50 AD, 10% CDR
UNIQUE Passive: Ashes To Ashes - Controlling the nearest Altar sets you aflame, dealing 26-43 (from levels 1-18) magic damage per second to nearby enemies (Deals 50% bonus damage to minions and monsters). Controlling the furthest Altar causes your basic attacks to burn targets for 6-114 (from levels 1-18) damage over 3 seconds.

The first buff from Ashes to Ashes is an Immolate effect (doesn't stack with Bami's Cinder, Sunfire Aegis, or Enchantment: Cinderhulk)

Ardent Censer

Mikael's Crucible
The healing amplification passives on these items are now UNIQUE, so they will no longer stack with multiple copies of the same item. The effects will still stack if you build both Mikael's Blessing and Ardent Censer.

Early Game Changes

  • Outer turrets
    • Shared local gold: 300 gold ⇒ 250 gold
    • Health: 3300 ⇒ 3500
    • Fortification duration: 7 minutes ⇒ 5 minutes
    • Fortification damage reduction: 35% ⇒ 50%
    • Fortification's damage reduction no longer applies to bottom lane turrets.

  • NEW: Turret First Blood
    • In addition to normal rewards, the first turret killed yields 400 total bonus gold to the killer's team.
    • Local gold: 275 gold split between nearby champions
    • Global gold: 25 gold per champion

  • Siege Minions
    • Starting with the third minion wave, siege minions cycle between lanes. Bottom lane gets their siege minion on wave 3, Mid lane gets their siege minion on wave 4, and Top lane gets theirs on wave 5. This repeats until the 20 minute mark.
    • At 20 minutes, siege minions alternate between Mid lane and the side lanes. On wave 40, Mid lane gets a siege minion. On wave 41, Top & Bot lanes get their siege minion. This repeats until minute 35.
    • Beyond 35 minutes, each lane spawns a siege minion every wave (unchanged from live).

from what I could tell from the pathc notes, they gave her slightly more damage but made her feel like **** to play(idk if the aa resets have an actual impact, if they do her damage prohably got gutted too)

I might come back to the game because of this, thanks rito

The aa reset was a "high elo" mechanic (really stretching the realm of "high elo" here), so gutting it will be a harder nerf in higher elos than in lower ones. From what I've read, they did this to gut the power from the aa reset and add it to her Q skillshot and the melee execute, so the buff in lower elos seems like a good side effect.
