when vets where first introduced matt and flashj handpicked about.. 10 people to be veterans, all for various reasons but they were beneficial to mobafire in some way.
when we decided to include more vets, we would propose members and reasons why they should be veterans.

well, sort of.
you get to a certain number of +rep and then are automatically proposed if you haven't been already.

I didn't say "promoted", I said "proposed".
you're not automatically promoted to vet at a certain number of +rep the way scouts usually are.
You basically become eligible to be automatically recommended (if you haven't been already) at a certain number of +rep.

caucheka is as old as time. He was a vet when I first joined the site, and I remember he actually answered one of my questions, haha. It is true he is probably the oldest vet that is still active.
When I first joined my favorite vet was probably Scrax. He was friendly and helpful and I actually talked to him / played with him quite a bit. ;)
Xaioli was promoted very soon after I joined. I remembered seeing him posting a lot so I wasn't surprised when he was promoted. I also got to play with him some which was cool, and he's still one of my favorite people to play with now (the rare chance I get) because he's quite good at the game but also quite chill and mature. :)
