So, you all know that Alpha Strike is a spell which hits totally random anyone. And that is I think one of the biggest problems for Master Yi to be really great. If it would everytime hit reliable champs, he can activate his full potential. For that, I lower the initial damage of Alpha Strike and the AP-ratio, but give him some other cool things, especially for the jungle Version.
  1. Magic Damage: 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+ 50% bonus AD) (+ 80% AP)
  2. Deals 200% base damage vs monsters and 150% base damage vs minions
  3. Deals damage instantly on contact instead of after the animation.
  4. Cooldown: 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 / 8
  5. Bug fixed where the CD of Alpha Strike wouldn't be shown correctly.
  6. Now has an aiming system:
    1. Champion with the lowest HP
    2. Big Monster with the highest maximum HP, can be hit twice.
    3. Monster with the lowest HP
    4. Minion/Pet with the lowest HP

    Big Monsters are the monsters with health runes/buffs and dragon.


With this changes, Master Yi would deal initially less damage, but because the damage is more reliable, he would overall deal more damage. Also his jungle speed would increase because of the double hit on big monsters.

BTW: A little change to Wuju Style which affects AP Yi not very much and mostly jungle Yi:
  • CD: 20 seconds

I'd say that ad master yi's biggest problem is not the randomness on his Q, but his viability into the meta, basicaly no CC and has to build alot of damage and just a few defense to be able to make an actual difference.

^ This. That's why Fiora and Tryndamere are out of the picture, too, but Yi seems to be harmed the most out of the three.

That is why people play AP Yi, lol. But AD Yi has one term of viability: Splitpushing.
