Right, you get early ganks. And snowball a 1v2 so that he can STAY in the lane vrs 2 players instead of getting rolled by them.

Or you could have 2 guys in the lane, and when you snowball the lane the lane can keep the snowball rolling independently...

So let's say we have a regular team, except one of the bot laners constantly counter-jungles? Would that work? Or just counter-jungle early and lane after first clear?

Bot can't really counter-jungle. Two players to come dps from the lane, mid can help, and jungle can too sometimes. At that point it's basically a teamfight, and one you have no way out of, meaning you'd only want the fight if it's a guaranteed win (hint: it probably wouldn't be). Takes too much time to get to camps and clear them. If top and mid get good pushing picks they have an easier time at it, because they can push to tower and that leaves their lane opponents to either miss cs and block jungle steals or wait and cs under tower, but bot just doesn't have that kind of leeway in the same way. Support can roam a little if the AD is safe enough, but that's the extent of it.

If you run Tanky guy + Eve, and Eve takes smite, then you could theoretically do that as the purple team. But there are ways to counter/shut it down.

This is something I've considered before.

Top being the counter jungle is a better idea than bot. You just need someone who can push very hard, and kill the jungle fast as well. Hell we've all seen m5 do it with Shyvana...

Yeah, we know that because 5 did it, but other lanes can do it as well I think.

If you're trying to counter jungle as purple from top, you have to go all the way to wolves.

If you're trying to counter jungle as blue from bottom, you again, have to go all the way to wolves.

TOP isn't a counter jungling lane, Blue Top is, and Purple Bottom is.

The chinese meta was pretty intresting because it removed all map inbalances I feel.

Basically, the blue side is kind of OP actually because of how you are protected from top counter jungling you, bottom can steal small golems for a level advantage, and your dragon ward is also an effective jungler ward.

China used to put their tanks bottom as purple.

This means that ad+support still takes small golems, the tank can counter jungle, and your tank is harder to gank.

It's pretty funny honestly.
Tri lane for life.

Yeah, I was just about to point out: M5 shyvana top was stealing golems on blue side only. Mid is the only good lane in which both sides can steal camps. Bot can't clear fast enough and only blue has easy access top. This does give blue a slight advantage in map control. Blue also gets an advantage if they have an uncounterable pick available to them, since they get first choice (see: TSM constantly firstpicking Sona at Kiev).

That doesn't mean it's enough to swing the match, of course, but it does create certain problem situations where purple has to work a bit harder for their peanuts.

In my opinion the purple team has the better solo top side :P

Bot can't clear fast enough

Oh I'm not sure about that :P

But this is partly why I mention Eve with Smite to go rob things.
