I have seen well-played AP Nasus' solo entire teams. It's scary.
The main reason not to play AP Nasus is because all of his skills that actually scale off AP help his physical damage in some way.  Spirit Fire reduces enemies' armor and  Fury of the Sands increases his AD.

Spirit Fire reduces enemies' armor and Fury of the Sands increases his AD.But if you built a more tanky ap with a lich bane then it would have alot of synergy with siphoning strike cuz his ap ratios would start buffing his physical damage...that being said i think you would have to build the lich bane early in order for it to be effective in any way...

^ i'm assuming you're talking about what i said, and what i mean is that lich bane acts as additive physical damage to your next basic attack. It just draws power from how much AP you have so if you built a lich bane and one or two heavy AP items, his AoE and ult would benefit but so would his Q and his life steal passive

his ult and spirit fire scale off ability power, but his siphoning strike doesnt, and his passive isnt very useful as AP nasus...
