He was really fed. If you should ever be against him in lane, pick Morgana.
If it's not draft pick, then just fall back and wait for him to use his Q on minions. After that go in and do your thing, he's got a very long CD on his Q. When he uses Meditate, either break it with CC or wait for your CD's and attack him after it. |

Wait for his cooldowns to be up, then bully him.

2 things you need to do to beat him like that.
CC him after he uses  Meditate. That's his big tank skill and Hard CC, like Ahri's  Charm will bring him out of it and he won't have recovered as much health.If you can't do that, maybe you're Morgana or something, Rush a  Void Staff if you're AP and a  Last Whisper if you're AD. He's gaining 300 Armor and MR from using that which puts him at about 400 of each resist almost. Breaking through that should be #1 priority.Also, never going it alone. Yi is a great duelist no matter what.

Whoa didn't realize the cd was 35, that makes a big difference. And if I just charm him out of it then I should be ok and do my normal build right? I like Abyssal because of the magic res against his Q.
I guess my mistake is to initiate with charm. I should just Q and W in team fights until he meditates and then charm right? |

Also if you ignite him while he heals that should help. or is you have morello's use it.

Just get some cc like taunt fear or stun, when he meditates cc him then he cant do much

Hmm, it seems to be an ap build focusing onto early cdr should work wonders with Yi. CDR quints, CDR glyphs,
 Sorcery
and
 Intelligence
. 20% CDR at lvl 1 could be pretty hard to deal with. And Yi has good mana regen with  Doran's Ring and
 Meditation
aswell. ( Meditate+
Meditation
, lol)That would be pretty hard to deal with. Especially with first item  Deathfire Grasp.

Basically as an ap who was not as fed as him, I couldn't kill him because he regens health with his wuju style faster than my cooldowns could deal him damage.
Is this just a matter of him being really fed early game or are there certain items I should build? I went with my usual rush Abyssal Scepter -> Rylai's Crystal Scepter.
