However I've been running a 15 ArP / 13 AD rune page quite often lately and it's fkin sweet :P For champs like Riven particularly. Puts me right around 70-75 AD at lvl 1, and gives me 15 ArP to boot xD

Yeahp, I am the balls deep meister :3 Defense is reliable, but I like the option to sorta say, "Oh hi, I landed that rank 3 Lee Sin Q at level 5, and HERE COMES DAMAGEEEEEEEE" amd then they die because they thought that I would wait till 6 like everyone else :D
I just find that aggressively powerballing the lane not only wins more lanes, but more games, and 10-15 armor doesn't usually save you from ganks anyway. Wards do ^_^ I only really take defensive runes when they completely shut down an opponent, and that's only the case with a select few champions top lane, Riven being the most obvious. I usually use 15 AD 19 armor vrs Riven and go cloth 5! ^_^

They still can be better around lvls 1-3 though :3 So even still, I do support them on some solo tops, because levels 1-3 are often times so pivotal there.
Actually, they're only better levels 1-4 on AD carries (with normal base AD of ~50). Bruisers often have higher base AD. I think the average is 58 or so, and that usually means that AD marks are better only level 1 and level2.
But I do understand how pivotal early levels can be.
