Is Urgot viable in top lane? If so, against who? Short and sweet! Thanks :)

i think urgot is best placed bot lane with a support.
as for top, i would have no idea. ![]() 'The problem with quotes on the internet is that it's hard to determine their legitimacy.' - Aristotle |

I think he has the potential to be a good top and I've wanted to try it, but I just don't feel like playing him :/

He has the advantage of range, as well as some good ranged harass that can't be minion-blocked. He's not as squishy as some other ranged AD carries. He does lack an innate sustain mechanism other than his shield, which he isn't likely to be maxing first. His ultimate should make ganks almost foolproof, as well.
He's likely to do well against top laners who don't have as good ranged harass and don't have spam-able gap closers, such as Urgot is pretty mana-intensive, though, so ideally you'll also want your team to be running a mana-less mid, so that you'll be able to pick up blue buff. Urgot with blue is a terror. Offhand, and admitting that I don't know everything there is to know about top lane, I'd suggest trying it against

He's pretty cool if you can manage his mana pour since you want to avoid getting pushed cause he doesn't have reliable way to AoE farm. I run mreg/lvl quints to avoid going mreg in items.
It's kinda different since in bot you'll usually transition from ad to trinity offtank later. Top seems rather straight Trinity (with Brut if you're feeling good in the line) cause most of the champs you meet ther will have a lot of sustain and will armor break your Qs so no reason to fight over that lane hard; Your Qs will deal enough damage to weaken them if you get arpen reds so you can ult them when ganking time comes, and again that's why mana management is so important there. |

I've never played a lot of Urgot, but I suppose that mana is a problem for him.
Does manamune completely fix his manaproblems? |

^Yes, pretty much.

if you go top with Urgot you don't build manamune tbh, Brutalizer+Frozenheart and banshees is the way to go

Wouldn't he be a great counter to Nasus then? Even though Nasus has his slow, but you'll be able to harass him ****loads whenever he tries to farm his Q.
