Welcome to FIREWerks
MOBAFire’s first community art contest.
This contest is open to any and all MOBAFire members with the exception of the bonus category.
Here are the rules:
Categories:
MOBAFire-branded Desktop Wallpaper
1280 x 800 jpeg format
Prize: $100
Custom Champion Avatar
120 x 120 png, gif format No animation.
Prize: $100
MOBAFire-branded Signature
480 x 175 gif, png or jpeg format. No animation.
Prize: $100
Bonus Category:
Design FlashJ’s signature
480 x 100 png or jpeg format. Yah that’s right, 100pixels tall! Anything over is disqualified for not reading the instructions.
Prize: $100
NOTICE: The bonus category is only open to MOBAFire members who joined before the contest was announced.
More Details:
Each person may only enter one item per category. You may not submit work as a team. This contest is for individuals only. This means each person may enter a total of 3 times (4 if you qualify for the bonus). Entering multiple times through proxies will result in expulsion from the contest and possible future contest for all involved.
All artworks must be submitted as a single post in this thread before the deadline (see below).
Contest will be judged by Matt and FlashJ. All disputes or complaints should be directed to thevoid@mobafire.com.
Cash Prizes will be paid via Paypal and a valid account is required (yes you can use your brothers, mothers etc if you win)
By submitting your work you agree that MOBAFire may use it for any purpose related to the website www.mobafire.com without notice or compensation.
Deadline:
Your submission must be posted by 12AM PST, Monday, September 5th, 2011. You must be 13 years or older to participate.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason and may alter the rules or rewards of the contest at anytime before judging is complete without warning or compensation.

We are SUPER excited to announce our second tournament "Take Your Best Shot". There is a nice juicy purse for this tournament of $2,500 USD (total cash purse including bonus prize) along with some great prizes. While we wait for registration to open we'll see if we can find any other prizes for ya ;)
The best prize of the contest is getting to play CLG! The winning team not only gets a great prize they also get to try their skills at beating CLG. If you can win 2 out of 3 matches against them you will win another awesome bonus prize!
So get your team together and start training for your shot at glory!

Take Your Best Shot Tourny
You may have noticed that the "browse guides" page looks quite different all of a sudden :) We have launched the start of some features that will help to not only keep the content on MOBAFire fresh, but to help readers find the freshest content and not get stuck reading outdated guides.
The biggest feature is an icon next to each guide along with an indication of how fresh or outdated the guide is. A green icon with "Ideal" means the guide has been updated since the last patch. A yellow icon with the text "Fresh" means the guide has been updated within the last 3 patches. A red icon with the text "Stale" means the guide was last updated more than 3 patches ago.
There is also a "patch" drop down on the browse guides page and on the champion database pages, that will filter out any guides that were not updated after the chosen patch. You can use this to further help narrow down the lists.
The "freshness" of a guide is based on the last publish date. All authors have to do to bring their guide up to date is click publish. However, if you do this without actually bringing it up to date, you should expect some backlash in negative votes. So make sure you really have updated things :)

Edit: Also, the homepage has been tweaked a bit :) There is a new feature box at the top right that, for now features our next upcoming tournament but in the future will feature other contests and news.
There is also a new Live Streams box on the homepage to help draw attention to this new section and feature the busiest streams :)
