League of Legends (LoL) Question: Is Jax still good?

    Is Jax still good?

I've been playing Jax a lot in ranked and I tend to win 90% of my games, but looking at what people say, and the newest 5.9 tier list, he is always ranked low. Is there reason for that? And is he only good in low elo too? (I'm Silver 2 btw)

I would say he's still good, he's more balanced now (not OP), which is probably why he's lower on the tier lists.

Jax is good at killing squishy champions.
Right now the meta is filled with tanks jungle and top lane, so he's having a hard time.

Well right now there's the Cinderhulk craze going on.

Don't mean to sound offensive, but win rates at silver don't mean much. You could play AD Janna and have an 100% win rate - that doesn't mean AD Janna is OP

As for Jax he's a decent top laner at best because he's weak and squishy early on. He's good late game where he can stick onto carries and melt them, but his merits simply don't outweigh his flaws in the current tank meta where most fights happen mid game with supertanks at that phase.

Thats one key aspect. Many fail to get a succesive early to mid farm(exp+g; or whatsoever) and thus fail to reach the late.
But Jax can remain a clever pick for team fight (against heavy AA reliant teamcomps)

For me, it's all about your skill on Jax. Since his OPness, he has always been weak before 6. However after getting ultimate, he is able to outduel anyone he's facing. After that his power spike come as he gets Trinity Force, BOtRK. Yet still, he is very good in teamfights, even when he doesn't have so developed def stats.

Well Jax is definitely still strong later in the game and is still a great duelist but his nerfs really made his early game harder to win but later in the game he is still strong enough to possibly carry a game. You might have to set up a more defensive runes and mastery page or just play safer in the early game then you can go ham once you get a few items are feel comfortable.

Jax is still a decent champion in Season 5, yet he is an assassin at best. He won't be good in teamfights, but can bully his own lane. Jungle and Top are still good for him, but I play him top lane. However, you should watch out for tanks in the current tank meta because it really hurts.

Jax is actually quite strong especially his in-built counters to Auto attack reliant champs, such as Udyr, Xin Zhao, basically all Ad-range champs and etc. He has innate strength with his ultimate passive lots of utility and a auto attack reset. Best things on junglers and top laners atm. This is my view on his ability on dueling oppenent laners/junglers.

Teamfight wise he will have problems , see Der Herros comment

What MrYorky said, plus the fact that now most team compositions (even in soloq) tend to have more peel, so that Jax cannot effectively jump on people as he was able to do so in season 2.
