I'm enjoying teemo very much as several roles in unranked games, support, jungle, and top. Having very high success. My question is, can or is teemo viable in ranked? If so, an explanation would be appreciated!

is perfectly viable for ranked but being viable doesn't mean he is good. needs to win lane to be useful in the late game. Currently pretty much only wins melee lanes which is a real problem because you're going to have a hard time if you get counter picked unfavorably.

On top of that, picking usually affects the team mentality (not in a good way). You should be fine if you pick into lanes where he can get something done.

Mentality is something that should also be mentioned for a teemo player. Far too many newer teemo players come into a game with the belief that mindset that they are a hardcore AP Carry. Itemization does not a role make. The teemo's I see dominate games are usually ones that understand their roles: Providing global vision of the enemy team's movements through fog of war, Blinding the enemy AD carry during teamfights in order to shut down their damage potential, As well as applying his DOT to various champs in order to secure his own carry kills.

The damage is unnoticed until he gets Liandries, and in most Teemo baits (wait until someone walks over a shroom then Q>AA) he can kill carries in no time w/o taking much damage or any damage at all.

but the shrooms provide vision all over the map so they might not do a ton of damage (if not fed) but you get map control

The shrooms do very little in the end. It's also hard for to ever get in range of enemy ad carries because he is so short ranged and can get exploded quite easily.

Isn't still quite a decent pick for ranked just because he has so much global map control with his mushy mushy shrooms and his blind making Auto-Attack reliant attack damage carries like or useless?

here's the thing...even if its not your fault when you lose your team mates will blame it on you. teemo is pretty troll and you'll probably get harassed pretty hard. If you can handle that and show them that teemo can be good go ahead. prepare for salty team mates though

Yes, any champion in the right team can be "viable". Teemo shuts down ADC's so is always viable against that meta, though he can be taken out quite quickly if the APC focus' him.

I'd recommend playing him if you enjoy him, don't worry about if he is strong or not since the game is mostly balanced. The only reason some champions are considered unviable is because of the lack of people playing them / the popularity in champions that currently counter them, this being the case a lot of people avoid ranged carries in any form besides the ADC since assassins are so popular but if you play your role correctly then you can make anything work!

Try, fail, try again, fail, try again, succeed. With trial and error you will make it viable just through experience and becoming aware of your weakness' / advantages.
