League of Legends (LoL) Question: Where to DFG in standard AP burst mage's combos?

Where to DFG in standard AP burst mage's combos?

Some champions are a lot more easier to understand comboing with Deathfire Grasp, say Veigar, or Annie.

Others usually have some kind of damaging mobility, like LeBlanc's Distortion or Ahri's Spirit Rush. A lot of Leblanc users I hear from go for a Sigil of Silence Mimic into Distortion- but how did they get close in the first place? Chains?

I'm not sure where to fit in dfg in many mage's combos.. and I would like help -w-
Little shameless list of champs I'm unsure about:
    Ahri
..psst.. after charm, q or w first?

    Diana
    Katarina
    LeBlanc
    Lissandra
    Syndra

realizes they're all female champions, feels awk

On Ahri you use Deathfire Grasp as soon as you can lay down all your abilities. Usually after Charm because they are still and you can hit abilities. Depends on the situation. Many minions near and the target somewhat far away? Q. No other people but the target next to you? Use W.

Diana doesn't really use Deathfire Grasp. I play her as jungler though so I can't tell if mid Diana uses Deathfire Grasp or not.

on LeBlanc you use it before you use 75% of your abilites (Bjergsen confirmed) so usually after you've landed your E.

On Lissandra you use it before you ult the target.

On Syndra you use it when you start to fight. You can easily burst enemy from 100% to 0% as Syndra with Deathfire Grasp

I've seen Diana users with DFG. It's pretty much a matter of opportunity (as most mages). If they are cc'd you can DFG + Crescent Strike + Lunar Rush + Lunar Rush and W. If not, you Q, R and you can try the mid-R DFG if in range. I don't take DFG on Diana since I use her mostly as an engager or a cleanup assassin, I rarely instagib someone.

LeBlanc often DFG's squishies after casting Distortion to get closer, if you land the other 3 abilities they r recked (sometimes you won't even need the chains)

Some Fizz players might also use DFG. They cast it if they hit ult and are in Q range, if not they usually E-DFG-Q+W. It's frequently overkill tho.

Well yeah on Syndra that is usually enough. Sometimes you might have to use it when you start to burst someone to get enough damage dealt.

Syndra just has to DFG before she ults, that's pretty much it.

Also you missed Katarina. You should DFG before your W and ult when you go in. If you can DFG before E that's nice but it's usually easier to E in first.
