League of Legends (LoL) Question: Why isn't Teemo a good jungler?

Why isn't Teemo a good jungler?

I have never played Lol (I've played Smite for quite a while) and I was looking around what Champions I want to play as when I get around to download it (Ahri, TF, and Teemo :3) and I'm looking at Teemo and he looks great for Jungling yet I see everything about him being top lane (I don't have a full understanding of that) I mean he's fast , his passive IS stealth, DoT, and he sets traps ; up to 10.... I understand jungler's are suppose to be high burst ; high damage, and are meant to kill as fast as possible but this guy can see everything. I would like it if someone can explain to me why he isn't a good jungler (I don't have experience with the game, so that's why I'm asking)

Before we talk about ganks or Teemo's kit, Teemo can't survive the full jungle clear healthy enough to actually gank and roam. All junglers need to be able to clear at a good enough speed to actually have impact on the game.

Teemo has no CC and no gap-closer, so that makes ganks hard for him. His usefulness as a jungler is also stagnant as your ability to make plays is greatly hindered. His stealth doesnt help him as it requires him to stand in one place. His DoT doesn't matter that much, and his traps are passive - they require enemies to walk over them to make a play.

Notice some of the popular junglers:
Lee Sin has a good clear with his AS bonus and his e for clearing. He has his Q for instant gap closing and the ability to ward hop R to make aggressive plays. High burst early game to transition into a tanky mid ~late

Elise has great sustainability with her spiders, decent clear in the jungle, and huge early game burst + cc to lock down enemies. She snowballs really easily if ahead and can default to tankiness if behind.

    Hope that answers your question.

Yes it does, I usually play smite and jungling is a little different but yes CC and gap closers are still important so thanks for the info :)

in late game no one can kill dragon sooner than Teemo but imagine him trying to get the first red buff alone

Jungling in league is somewhat different than in smite. Monsters are generally a lot harder to kill and deal more damage to you, they scale with the time of the game (the longer it gets in the game, the more damage they deal and are harder to kill). It's also much easier to gank lanes, so there is a high focus on that.
