it's a nice guide but if i may ask, what's so different between armor penetration runes and attack damage runes?

I see...I'm lossing my time trying to make you understand cause you need a brain first...Just keep in mind(if you have) that atmog's is a build for a guy who don't know how to positioning himself in a battle and he can NOT esc from a gang or avoid it... that's the guy who is new or noob in game (as i said) you can build some many other items that makes the game more challenging and full of fun...Ofc you are wrong form the start cause Riven is clearly a Dps Champion not an offtank or tank... if you wanna see who am i... Search Eu Nordic & East some1 named K1ngdon ...

The best Riven build I've seen so far! Gives mid game pwnage and late game tankiness.
I've played 3 games with this build, and they were all wins.

In the last game, I was faced in lane by Morde AND Akali. I was harrased out of lane and had about 0/2/1 when I was around level 10 and I was very underfed. But then I switched lanes with our mid, and farmed up while pwning the other teams Riven, who had done the same thing. The other Riven was building diffrently, starting with Frozen mallet, then building inifity edge.

Safe to say, I killed her atleast twice since she didn't do much damage at all.

I ended up being as fed as the Morde that pwned me in lane, and then carried my team to victory as we had no other initiator.

All thanks to this guide. I couldn't ever have done this without it. Thank you.

Just one thing tho'. Rushing BF Sword as fast as you can really helps, especially if you're winning your lane. It'll bring much pwn early-mid game. :3



Also, in response to Maeralyr, Riven is NOT and autoattacking piece of DPS like Trynda, Yi, Ashe, Etc. She is COMBO BASED! This means that in order to do damage she must use her abillities, get procs from her passive and finally use Wind Slash to finish the off. Just a single piece of CC can stop her from performing her combos, and good positioning in teamfights won't always save you from that. She has to build atleast SOME survivability if she's supposed to deal damage before dying. Open your eyes man. Also, I checked out your K1ngdon account. Seems you enjoy playing auto attacking champs like MF, Kog'maw and Ashe. From that I can understand if you want to make Riven into a glass cannon, but as she is melee and doesn't scale well for auto attacks or pure AD you do have to build her with some level of tankiness.

Also, before you jump to assumptions and call me a nub, I have to say that I am. I'm not level 30 with 9001 ranked game wins. I don't have all champs in the game. I just have an opinion. Hurrhurr.
