Sorry but I feel the need to disagree with this. All the time as Riven I've found I need the survivability from the second Doran's blade to tide me over until I get higher levels/more defensive items like Frozen Mallet. It's only a little but it works.

Thanks for the detailed explanation!
After playing a few games with your guide, (2 dorans most of the time, since i have to go back before i have enough money for BF) I found i did really well early game, a lot better then usual.
I just need to figure out a way to stay alive in team fights. I tend to get stun, snear etc, and cant press e to get out and i die a lot and quickly. Im a fairly new player to riven, i've only got 10-15 games in so far, and i usually play blind pick, where team composition arent very good, and without tank/support/off tanks, team fights are really hard. Next time i get a bad team, i'll try getting FM before bloodthister to help me survive bit longer.

Im learning a lot on these forums, i just need to go and practice more now. My next priority is to learn how to fight in team fights, and how not to die! I know you have a section for skill sequence but its not always that easy, especially in team fights.

Its weird how I can get a lot of help in the forums, from the members of the community, and at the same everyone is downvoting everyone, no guide is ever over 70%...
good luck with the guide, i'll keep checking back in the forum and your guide for tips! Its definatly one of the best riven build out there!

I appreciate it a lot, I know you'll get better with time :D

As for team fights:

Don't initiate until you're comfortable with her. You will get CCed and stunned because you are a threat. When you spot a team fight, let a tank or other champ initiate, activate Blade of Exile and Valor in. I will tend to do Broken Wings > Auto > Ki Shout (gives the stun) > Broken Wings (skip the auto) > Broken Wings a 3rd time so that the Ki Shout stun and the knock up from Broken Wings are flowed together. Valor out or chase and use Wind Scar (Blade of the Exile) before it runs out. After that, it's rinse and repeat. Watch where your teammates are and try to get a 1v1 or 2v1 because with your 2 stuns and armor you will do rather well.

Riven can also protect allies. If one of your teammates is being chased, put yourself between then and Ki Shout. Do a little harass and Valor and Broken Wings to escape. I've been able to save numerous comrades with this and can even turn into a two person kite to pick up a kill. Look to use Ki Shout where it is most effective. Once you have a sense of range, when you see 3/4 enemies in a group, once someone initiates, Broken Wings in, Ki Shout, and quickly valor back out so you don't get locked up.

I hope this helps you some. I may add it to the main section of the guide later.

I've been looking around almost every guide looking for the one that would work best for me and I really like your guide. im still asking question everywhere to make sure i do find the best one, but definitively, this is a top contender.

Not questioning your build order, you know way more about riven then I do, im just looking for eplanation. Most guide have the brutalizer early, why wait to get it? and also, most guide will get phage after IE or Bloodthrister, why wait? Again, im not questioning you or the guide, im trying to get a better understanding of riven and the guide. Thanks for helping me out!

They are good questions. The Brutalizer: I wait to get it because I'm usually sustainable in lane for incredibly long amounts of time. Recently, I've been going straight from Doran's Blade > Boots > B.F. Sword. Many will notice the extreme difference after getting B.F. Sword, so it's logical to beef it up even more. I get the Brutalizer mainly for the CD. The CD is important, but while building Riven as a pure AD champ, finishing Infinity Edge is more important. It's possible to grab the B.F. Sword and a Pickaxe if you want and then grab The Brutalizer, but it's up to you and the game situation. Recap: Damage output (greater than) CD reduc. Early/mid game.

Bloodthirster. I see this as a snowball item. IE gives 80 damage as opposed to 60 and Bloodthirster relies on minion kills. At this point in the game, it's important to be with teammates and be in teamfights. Yes, more AD and lifesteal will help, but you should be sustained by the two Doran's Blades. Being in a teamfight, the CD is the most important here especially due to the fact that Riven can get out of a fight, quickly recover CDs and quickly jump back in (which is key in a teamfight). This is where a more detailed explanation comes in:
This is situational. If you are loosing team fights, build into phage/Frozen Mallet. If you're doing good in team fights, build into Bloodthirster. Many have learned how to be better with Riven, and this build capitalizes on doing well Early game. Even if you do well, the rest depends on team fights. People build her tanky (Warmogs and Atmas) and that's not the point of this. During the time you're building bloodthirster, everything becomes situational.

As stated by many, the game has a good chance of being over right after building Infinity anyways. Especially because you'll have gold from Assists and Kills with no deaths.

Once again, this guide depends on your upvotes!! Been moving down due to downvotes with no comments, so please, support this guide!

Just tried your build. 4/1/6 with an early surrender making it up to infinite edge. The 2 dorans blade wokred quite nicely.was going up against an ali and a twitch. Farm was very quick once u get B.f Sword and once u get I.E, you decimate the squishier champs and some of the tankier ones also
