Champion Build Guide

[10.13] Jungle or Support, their end's the same

By mscocca
Since Nidalee as a Support could turn up your ADC's nose, it's your job to prove them wrong. She has no Crowd Control but she is still able to peel for her ADC with her great Heal and attack speed buff - all in one skill. Not only that, her damage is enormous and, if played correctly, she's able to zone the enemies away and deny their farm. With this build Nidalee is going to turn into an Enchantress with OCKO (= One Combo Knockout) potential.

Are there Enchanters who can do a better job at peeling for their ADC? Yes, no doubts. But if you want to have fun, there's no other Enchanter with such high skill cap to prove your abilities.

This guide comes with three different builds. Find which one suits your playstyle the best!

Go with the Support Build if you want to play from behind, peeling for your ADC and your team. You will still be able to get kills and snowball but your main duty is keeping your team alive thanks to Primal Surge, Athene's Unholy Grail, Redemption, Shurelya's Reverie, Ardent Censer;

If you want to lead the way and carry the lane and the game, then you should definetely go with the Offensive Build. The Single Target Damage you are going to deal is unequalled. You are going to OCKO squishy champions and give tanky champions a hard time. The combination of Sorcerer's Shoes, Void Staff, Morellonomicon - or Oblivion Orb, will get your enemies melted. The Offensive Build can be used for Jungle as well;

Consider going with the Defensive Build if the enemy has many Crowd Control skills or is Attack Damage oriented. This won't change the fact that you are still going to be denied by Crowd Control Skills, but it's going to give you more survivability in lane and in team fights;

    - Unequalled Single-Target Damage;
    - Excellent Mobility;
    - Strong Laning Phase;
    - Exceptional at Snowballing;
    - Great at Roaming;
    - High Skill Cap;
    - Completely denied by Crowd Control Skills;
    - Problematic if behind;
    - Skillshot reliant;

Shard of True Ice is a must, not only for the Ability Power it provides but most importantly for its Mana Regen . One of the biggest problems with Nidalee is the cost of her spells. Both her Javelin Toss and Primal Surge will give you a hard time if you don't dose them in the right way during Laning Phase;

Luden's Echo is an important item as well but you can decide whether you want to rush it for a more oppressive lane or you can start with Lost Chapter and get Athene's Unholy Grail to improve the effect of Primal Surge. I reccomend rushing Lost Chapter in any case as its passive is just too useful;

Sorcerer's Shoes, Ionian Boots of Lucidity, Boots of Mobility are all good options depending on the enemy team. Sorcerer's Shoes give a good amount of Magic Penetration ; Ionian Boots of Lucidity give you Cooldown Reduction that, thanks to Transcendence, is going to be converted into Ability Power after you exceed the 40%/45% cap; Boots of Mobility give a huge boost to your Movement Speed ;

These are the very core items. Once you get these four, you can decide if you want to give your team more damage or more utility.

Ardent Censer is an amazing tool if you are teamed with hypercarries such as Master Yi, Kayle, Jinx, Tristana, to name a very few. The Attack Speed it gives, combined with the one given by Primal Surge is extremely yummy on those champions;

Shurelya's Reverie is a good tool as well, much more situational. It's good at both engaging and disengaging team fights and at Snowballing. It synergizes well with Master Yi's Highlander, Sivir's On The Hunt, Jinx's Get Excited!, Kayle's Celestial Blessing, to list a very few;

Redemption is another good item, much less situational as it works in most scenarios. It's a great tool during team fights - where Nidalee is a bit lacking, and it synergizes well with Ardent Censer, Athene's Unholy Grail, Luden's Echo and Summon Aery;

Mejai's Soulstealer and Rabadon's Deathcap are good for a less supportive build. Buy only if extremely ahead and you know what you're doing. Mejai's Soulstealer is an extremely rewarding item but it punishes your mistakes quite hard;

Void Staff and Morellonomicon can come at handy against enemies who build Magic Resist. You might want to stop with Oblivion Orb in case you don't need to apply Grievous Wound. If you are against Vladimir, Dr. Mundo, Soraka, to name a few, then it's really a good idea to get your hands on Morellonomicon;

Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Zhonya's Hourglass are also good if you want to build a bit more defensively against Attack Damage -heavy team comps. Rylai's Crystal Scepter is particularly good cause it synergizes with Liandry's Torment and with Bushwhack: your traps are going to slow down the enemies and apply Liandry's Torment damage over time;

Seraph's Embrace is also useful as it gives you enough mana to waste some Javelin Toss and abuse your Primal Surge - even if you go defensive you might still want to go Luden's Echo, so it's really up to you and up to the situation. Luden's Echo synergizes extremely well with Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment and Bushwhack;
