Welcome to my Lulu guide! My name is DatKawaiiBunny, and I'm a Silver IV ADC & support main. I've been playing since season 7. I've been playing Lulu for quite a bit now. I don't play her as much as I want to, but she's one of my favorite supports. She's one of the best utility supports out there. She also has one of the best shields. Since the video for the champion's abilities won't be done for a bit,

I decided to add more information and a better-looking design for my guides. This is the first guide with the new design. My other guides won't have the updated design and I will leave them on patch 10.9, but they're not outdated. Soraka is the only one that needs slight changes. I removed the gameplay tips chapter for now. I'm going to make it shorter!

Lulu is a powerful support that offers a lot of poke because of her Glitterlance. All of her abilities can be used on enemy champions and monsters. She also provides a lot of utility with her ultimate and shield. She can increase the attack speed and movement speed of her allies with her Whimsy.

Like most supports, Lulu is squishy. She has high mana costs, and high cooldowns early. Her Whimsy is a 16-second cooldown, and her Help, Pix! is 10-seconds on the first level. Lulu doesn't have any engaging tools, and needs to rely on teammates to start fights. Even though she can't start fights, she can easily back you up with her abilities.

Summon Aery
Summon Aery is the rune you want to go on Lulu. It increases your shield by 35 - 80 based on level (+ 25% AP) and it gives you more poke damage with Glitterlance and other abilities. Some people take Arcane Comet for the extra poke damage. It's not the worse rune to take on Lulu, but you won't get the extra shielding from Summon Aery.

Manaflow Band
Manaflow Band gives you 25 mana every time you hit an enemy champion with an ability. It also gives you up to 250 mana. Lulu up quite a bit of mana with Glitterlance and Help, Pix!. Manaflow Band helps with her mana problem.

Transcendence grants you 10% CDR. This comes in handy for Lulu because of her high cooldowns early. Another thing about Transcendence is once you get full CDR through items your extra CDR will get turned into AP. CDR is important for support. I can't imagine taking any other rune in the Sorcery tree.

Scorch is good on Lulu since it increases how much damage she does with her poke. When you hit an enemy with an ability, it burns them with extra damage. It deals 10 - 30 bonus magic damage based on your level. You can also take Gathering Storm for the AP you gain every 10 minutes. You gain 8 AP in the first 10 minutes, then it doubles.

Cosmic Insight
Cosmic Insight allows you to cap the CDR by 5%. This rune provides you with +5% CDR, +5% max CDR, and +5% summoner spell CDR. As I said, CDR is important for support. You can also take Magical Footwear for the boots. You gain boots after 12 minutes.

Biscuit Delivery
Biscuit Delivery is good for supports that use up a lot of mana early. It restores 12% of your missing mana and health for 15 seconds. It also increases your mana cap by 50. You get 3 biscuits in total. 1 every 2 minutes.

Bone Plating
Bone Plating is one of my favorite runes to take, especially when I go support. After taking damage from an enemy, their next 3 attacks deal less damage. Since most support champions are squishy, this is a good rune to take so you can survive a little longer! Lulu is a little squishy, so I usually take this rune.

Revitalize makes your heals and shields 5% stronger and if your ally is below 40% HP, your heals increase by an additional 10%. Lulu has a strong shield with Help, Pix!. Revitalize will make her shield stronger.

Guardian shields and hastes yourself and a nearby ally if you or your ally takes damage for 70 - 150 (+ 25% AP) (+ 12% bonus health). I take this on Lulu for the extra sustain. She's kind of weak compared to other supports in the meta, so I think this rune helps a lot. Plus, it makes Help, Pix! stronger.

Shield Bash
When shielded, Shield Bash grants you 1 − 10 (based on level) bonus armor and magic resistance. Once you're shielded, your auto attacks deal 5 - 30 (based on level) (+ 1.5% bonus health) (+ 8.5% shield amount) bonus damage for 2 seconds. Since Lulu has a strong shield because of Help, Pix! and Revitalize, I take this rune. You can also take Font of Life. Either one is a great option! When you impair an enemy's movement speed, a mark is put on them for 4 seconds. Any ally that attacks an enemy with a mark heal for 5 (+ 1% of your max health) over 2 seconds.

Bone Plating
Bone Plating is great for squishy supports. After taking damage from an enemy, their next 3 attacks deal 30 - 60 less damage. Combinded with Guardian and Shield Bash, this again gives Lulu more sustain in during and after the landing phase.

Revitalize makes heals and shields 5% stronger and if your ally is below 40% HP, your heals or shield increases by an additional 10%. Lulu already has a strong shield, but this makes it even stronger! I love taking this rune on most supports, like Nami and Soraka.

Cosmic Insight
Cosmic Insight allows you to cap the CDR by 5%. This rune provides you with +5% CDR, +5% max CDR, and +5% summoner spell CDR. As I said, CDR is important for support. You can also take Magical Footwear for the boots. You gain boots after 12 minutes.

Biscuit Delivery
Biscuit Delivery is good for supports that use up a lot of mana early. It restores 12% of your missing mana and health for 15 seconds. It also increases your mana cap by 50. You get 3 biscuits in total. 1 every 2 minutes.

♥ Passive: Pix,Faerie Companion

Pix fires 3 bolts, which deal 15 - 117 (at levels 1-18) (+15% of ability power) These bolts are homing, but can be blocked by other enemies, such as Yasuo

♥ Glitterlance

Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70

Lulu and Pix, Faerie Companion both fire a bolt that deals 80 / 125 / 170 / 215 / 260 (+50% of ability power) on the first target hit and it slows them by 80% for 2-seconds. The slowness decays. Other targets hit will get hit, but only takes 70% of the damage.

♥ Whimsy

Cost: 65


The targeted ally gains 30% movement speed and bonus attack speed for 3 / 3.25 / 3.5 / 3.75 / 4 seconds.


The targeted enemy gets polymorphed for 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 / 2.25 / 2.5 seconds. They're disabled from using their abilities and their base movement speed is reduced by 60.

♥ Help, Pix!

Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80


Pix, Faerie Companion jumps to an ally, shielding them for 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+60% of ability power) damage for 2.5 seconds. Pix also


Pix, Faerie Companion deals 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+40% of ability power) on a targeted enemy unit. Pix, Faerie Companion also follows them and grants vision for 6-seconds.

♥ Wild Growth

Cost: 100

Lulu enlarges a targeted ally, knocking nearby enemies into the air. Her ally gains 300 / 450 / 600 (+50% of ability power) bonus health for 7 seconds and slows nearby enemies by 30 / 45 / 60% for .25 seconds. The slow is refreshed if enemies stay near Wild Growth.

  • Spellthief's Edge is the basic starter item on Lulu. She needs AP because of her strong poke. With this item, With this item, you get 8 AP, 10 health, 25% mana regeneration, and 2 gold per 10. With Frostfang you get 15 AP, 70 health, 50% mana regeneration, and 3 gold per 10. You need to earn 1,000 gold so you can upgrade into Shard of True Ice. With Shard of True Ice you get 45 AP, 100% mana regeneration, and 100 health.
  • Ardent Censer is the main item you want to build on Lulu. It increases your heals and shields by 10%. It provides 60 AP, 50% base mana regeneration, and 10% cooldown reduction. Lulu has a powerful shield, so this will increase its power.
  • Redemption also grants a 10% bonus on healing and shielding. Redemption gives 10% cooldown reduction, 200 health, 50% base health regeneration, and 150% base mana regeneration. It has a unique activation. Targets an area within 5500 range. After 2.5 seconds, call down a beam of light to heal allies for 30 - 370 (based on target's level) and deal 10% of maximum health true damage to enemy champions and 250 true damage to minions (120-second cooldown). It can be used while dead.
  • Athene's Unholy Grail gives 30 ap, 10% cooldown reduction, 30 magic resistance, and 100% base mana regeneration. When you damage an enemy champion, you gain Blood Charges, and you can get 100 - 250 max. When you heal an ally, it consumes the charges. There's another passive for Athene's Unholy Grail "Dissonance: Grants 5 ability power for every +25% base mana regen. Disables Harmony on your other items."
  • Locket of the Iron Solari is a situational magic resistance item, or if you want extra armor. You get 30 armor and 60 magic resistance. When you activate the item, you and your nearby allies get a 130 - 300 (+20% of the caster's bonus health) shield. Also, if Locket of the Iron Solari is cast on the same target within 20 seconds, the cooldown will be reduced by 75%.
  • Zeke's Convergence After casting your ultimate, you and your ally gain an aura for 10 seconds. Nearby enemies get slowed by 20%, while your ally's attacks burn targets for 30% bonus magic damage for 2 seconds. Frostfire slows a burning enemy that's ignited by frost storm. It deals 40 magic damage per second and slows by 40% for 3 seconds. You have to bind to an ally. You also get 60 armor, 10% CDR, 30 magic resistance and 250 mana I use Wild Growth on my ADC, or on the frontline, so I like to take this for the extra damage and armor.
  • Boots of Mobility is the main choice of boots I take on Lulu. It enhances your movement speed by 25% and it increases your out of combat movement speed by 115% for 5-seconds. Also, Whimsy increases her movement speed by 30% movement speed (+5% of ability power).

Ignite deals damage 70 -4 10 true damage on a targeted enemy champion for 5 seconds and applies grievous wounds, which reduces all healing received and regeneration rates by 40%. Ignite helps in teamfights, and with champions that heal like Dr. Mundo and Vladimir. This is a good spell to take on Lulu for the kill potential. It's also a great spell for teamfights.

Flash teleports your champion wherever your cursor is. In my opinion, there's not much to do with Flash on Lulu. It's, of course, a good form of escape. It's also a key spell for every champion, except Yuumi. Lulu doesn't have a lot of escape. You can use Whimsy for the movement speed increase or for the polymorph, but Flash comes in handy.

Exhaust slows down a targeted enemy champion for 30% of their movement speed, and reduces their damage by 40% for 2.5 seconds. Exhaust can make engaging easier. Since they're slowed for 3 seconds, Lulu can slow them more with Glitterlance.

Support is one of the most important roles. There's more to it than just playing the champion. You have to understand your job in the laning phase, teamfights, as well as warding (which I have little map examples of the places I usually ward), and wave control.

Early Game

♥ Level 1:

You just want to get level two. Preferably before the enemies level up.

♥ Level 2:

If you hit level 2 before the enemy, you should communicate with your ADC and try to get an early kill, or Flash. You should also watch out for a gank by their jungler. On occasion, you might get level 2 ganked, especially by a Twitch.

♥ Level 3 - 5:

Level 6 is when you gain your ultimate. Before then, you are going to poke, ward, and shield your ADC. Ward dragon, possibly with a Control Ward, and help your ADC get minions and gold. If you go Relic Shield, then grab cannon for your ADC, along with other minions.

♥ Level 6:

Lulu has a strong ultimate. This is when you want to look for a kill. The main combo I use is Q - W - R (most of the time I use my ultimate on the ADC.) You can also use Exhaust after you Whimsy.

Mid/Late Game

♥ Roaming:

Personally, I like to roam after I get to level 6, but you can roam sooner. This is where you really have to communicate with your teammates. Roaming is also a great opportunity to deep ward, ward the river, or ward objectives, like a dragon. Some good times to roam are when:
  • You and your ADC recalled and the wave is pushed bot lane
  • Mid has priority, so you can help get the tower
  • Your jungler is ganking mid. You can most likely 3 v 1 or 3 v 2.

♥ Teamfight Tips:

Teamfights are very important, and they can turn the game around. Lulu is the utility support queen. She has a shield, a slow, damage, an ultimate that gives people health, and crowd control. In teamfights, you should protect your frontline, and peel for your ADC. You're most likely going to use your ultimate on them. I usually use Glitterlance after I put Whimsy or Help, Pix! on the teammate engaging, so I have a better chance of slowing them.

Warding is very important throughout the game. Providing your team with vision can really turn a game around, especially if you ward objectives, such as dragon , rift herald , and baron .

Early Game

In the early game, you should prioritize warding as much as possible. You probably won't have your upgraded support item by then, but that's okay. If you're ahead, you should try to ward either the enemy's blue buff or red buff to get some vision on the jungler, just in case they gank. If you can't do that, ward the tribush with a Warding Totem or a Control Ward. If you're behind, then ward the river, one of the bushes in the bot lane, and dragon . If you're behind because of the enemy jungler, then make sure to ward the tribush, if they're coming from that direction. If not, focus on the river.

Mid/Late Game

By this time, you should be out of the bot lane. Your upgraded support item gives you an opportunity to deep ward. You want to focus on warding the enemy's jungle. Specifically, near objectives and blast cones. You should always keep dragon warded, preferably with a Control Ward. Buy an Oracle's Lens as soon as your item is upgraded and try to deny them vision by looking for wards they've placed in your jungle, as well as theirs.

  • Blue Dots are of course the Blue Team.
  • Red Dots are of course the Red Team.
  • Pink Dots are Control Wards.
  • Small Green Dots are Blast Cones
