Hello. I am berroni. My current division is Diamond III - EU:W, Platinum I - EU:NE, and I main Volibear. I main jungle and top lanes. My main champion is Volibear, but since Volibear is destroyed by rito I've paused playing him. Qiyana is a champion that I fell in love ever since she was released on PBE. I've spent hours and hours studying her, and my studies have shown success as soon as she's released, as my winrate with her is 70% out of 40 games.

LORE

STARTING ITEMS

These are thee standard Starting Items.

FIRST BACK
These are the items you should get on your first back.
Tiamat is a great camp cleaning item, to help you with birds/golems.. Boots to help us with ganking and Control Ward to have eyes over the whole Jungle so our opponent can't steal a single raptor.

FIRST ITEM
We're playing Warrior Enchantment, and that's all we need to know - whether Skirmisher's or Stalker's. s Choose one of these depending on the enemy team. The important thing is that we're building Warrior Enchantment as we need an AD item as soon as we can get it.

AFTER WARRIOR ENCHANTMENT

After Warrior Enchantment, we're building Youmuu's Ghostblade as it's an item which will make us escape a threat we wouldn't be able to escape without it or that will grant us as much movement speed as we need to catch an enemy. Also, it will help us with ganks just like Ninja Tabi or Mercury's Treads. Between these two boot options, take the one depending on the enemy team - Ninja Tabi against the AD team or Mercury's Treads against an AP team or a team which has a lot of CC champions.

HP ITEM

Titanic Hydra is a great item to help you clear the jungle camps and deal damage to enemies with a great survivability length boost. Sterak's Gage is an item that will make our life last longer and that's going to give us an ability to damage enemies more than we already have done. Dead Man's Plate is an item which will surprisingly help us move faster throughout the map with it's glorious Passive.

MORE DMG ITEMS

Edge of Night is an item you're going to build against champions with abilities strong enough to make you useless like stuns for example. You'll need some time to master it, but when you do it you're going to play without threats. Maw of Malmortius is an item you're going to build against strong AP-poking champions, like Zoe for example, as it will save our life many times. Duskblade of Draktharr is an item you're going to build against squishies.

The first attack or ability against an enemy champion deals bonus damage. This cooldown resets when she draws a new element.

Qiyana slashes the area in front of her dealing damage. If her weapon is using an element, her weapon hurls forward as a projectile and explodes. River - Roots opponents on hit, Wall - Deals bonus damage to units with low health, Brush - Leaves a stealth trail that gives movement speed.

River

Wall

Brush

Roots opponents on hit Deals bonus damage to units with low health Leaves a stealth trail that gives movement speed

Targeting an element, Qiyana dashes forward to gather its power. While enchanted, she gains movement speed near the element, attack speed, and bonus damage.

Qiyana dashes a fixed distance towards a target, dealing damage to them.

Qiyana creates a shockwave, knocking back enemies. Any River, Brush, or Wall hit by the shockwave then explodes dealing damage and briefly stunning enemies.

RUNES

RUNES

E
S
Electrocute is one of my favorite runes on each assassin, due to it's extra burst damage at each of your combos. It may take some time to master it on Qiyana, but when you manage to do it you'll kill much easier and faster.
RUNES
Sudden Impact grants 7 Lethality and 6 Magic Penetration whenever you exit stealth, teleport or blink or even use a dash, and that boost will last for 5 seconds.
RUNES
Eyeball Collection grants stacks of Adaptive AD/AP per each takedown, it's quite useful through the whole game.
Mkay
Ravenous Hunter is a rune you should go on Qiyana due to it's insane healing which will prolongue your life.
RUNES

First of all, it's important to mention that Qiyana's early is terrible as hell. Anyways, if you follow this chapter and if everything goes well, you're soon going to catch up with enemies but until your first back - avoid any fighting. Start the game with red, go for golems, finish raptors. Use smite as soon as you need it, don't worry. Since your camp clearing is quite slow at early, after you finish the complete red jungle it's about 3:00, start going for Scuttler. If you see enemy champion, start running as fast as you can. If there is no enemy champion, he's whether planning to gank top or stealing your blue, make sure to ping your top laner and start taking the Scuttler. Since enemy jungler is already on top, you can see him. If he's still not on top, make the scuttle go toward your mid and stick to it, don't let it go at drake or even more toward bot, as enemy jungler is going to gank mid. Counter-gank there. If he doesn't gank anything and it happens that he's justing gaining XP for now - finish scuttler and gank mid. Do your best to make your opponent flash(you can't kill it). If enemy mid flashed, go finish your blue jungle and go recall. Now, you have brought Triumph and boots, and you are quite ready for the fight. Go inside your red jungle, take raptors, go towards mid. He surely doesn't have Flash since he used it a few seconds ago, so go and make a kill, as nobody needs it more than you.

At this stage, you are supposed to be quite fed and ahead of your opponents. Don't run away from fights, do the opposite. Start them. Steal everything you can steal from your opponents, and make sure to have vision over the map since their JG is surely warding and as soon as you get into a situation where you can't see their bot which is not low on hp, or their mid and you're taking Blue - start running or they'll kill you. That's everything you need to do at mid-game: steal your opponent's jungle and start as many fights with him as you can - you'll make it lose a lot of XP and gold which is going to ruin his late. Better do it now than later.

Focus the enemy carrier, he shouldn't be a problem for you.

  • Qiyana's early is terrible, don't even think about fighting a full-hp enemy if you have no teammates seriously nearly to you.
  • You can use Q-Flash Combo
  • You can use E to jump over a wall if you position a minion well as you would with Yasuo for example.
  • Your W can jump over walls, but not over each. You'll need some training to understand it.
  • Always have an element up, even when you're not required to use it as you'll need it sooner or later.
  • You're quite mana hungry, aim at having blue through the early
  • If your W is on CD, when you use Q you won't have an element, save it for later.

Sylas

Sylas is a champion that enjoys going after strong ultimates, and as your ultimate is quite strong Sylas will often try to steal it from you however he can, he'll do his best to have vision over your jungle and steal it from you as soon as possible. Make sure to place control wards over your jungle, so he can't see you. He has a strong poking, but don't worry, you should be able to take him one on one at mid-late phase but, run away from him at early.

Lee Sin

Lee Sin is one of those champions you shouldn't fight at any stage, if you're not ahead of him a lot. He can hunt you down easily, jump over 16 walls to get to you so if you're low hp you won't have quite a chance to escape from him even with flash(which is useless at this matchup). Lee Sin is a champion that you will be able to win only after you understand his basics, after playing him, so if you don't understand any of his abilities, do not fight him at any cost.

Jarvan IV

Jarvan Iv is quite OP at the current meta, and you shouldn't fight him 1v1. Same stuff I've said about Lee goes for him too.

Alistar

Alistar a champion that can easily lock you down so you won't get a chance to use your spells and if they all focus you you while he's on you - you won't even get a chance to use a spell.

The most important thing to look after when you are trying to gank with Qiyana is actually vision. You need to have great map awareness if you want to jungle with Qiyana, otherwise, you'll end up playing her on mid as she's much easier at that lane(less useful 'tho). You need vision so you can actually gank without a counter-gank threat. Use your mini-map to check your teammate's health, if they're low they won't help you quite a lot when you gank them, and you might die to their lane opponent. Tell them to recall, and come back as soon as they get back to lane, you must take a minimal threat at each of your ganks. After you get your first successful gank, do your best to take down the drake as soon as possible. Call mid or bot for help, place control ward and take it, it's an objective after all, and drakes are useful throughout the whole game, especially at late when you take the Elder Dragon. Since Qiyana has terrible early, you'll need quite a lot of time to clear a jungle camp, she's slow clearing camps a lot until you get Tiamat which is going to help us with that(that's the main reason we're building it first). Make sure to have river warded, so you can see your opponent jungler. When you can see him, you can counter-gank, and as you already have Tiamat and you're not afraid of fighting - each counter-gank brings at least one takedown and 1/2 flashes used. Counter-ganking is one of the most important things when you are trying to jungle with any champion. Practice kiting, as you need it at early, before you start playing Qiyana. Kiting jungle-camps is when you ex. hit a blue and move away from it so it doesn't hit you. After you master it, you'll take much less damage from each camp so you won't have to back often and you'll be able to gank more.

Thank you very much for reading this guide. It is still not completely finished, many more matchup chapters and almost every chapter requires a lot of work to finish. This guide will follow each patch, surely. If you have enjoyed it, please leave a vote. If you still don't understand something, feel free to ask me down in the Discussion section, and I surely will answer you as soon as possible.
Good luck in the Fields of Justice & thank you for reading.
