[S11] Top & Jungle Trynd- Killer Monstermere

By Crusading Angel
Updates
Early game I try to rush tiamat ASAP. I then get tier 1 boots before rushing immortal shieldbow and then phantom dancer for extra 1v1 prowess.
Introduction
I finish my boots. I generally build merc tread for heavy ap/mr teams and then plated steelcaps for heavy armor teams. I very rarely build into beserker's greaves. Ionian boots of lucidity to help reduce cooldowns on your spells. High ability haste is great to help reduce cooldown on his e to help you escape easier.
Pros and Cons
Get the infinity edge for extra crit. I then finish my BORK and guardian angel for survivability. I then either sell my tiamat or I build it into titanic or ravenous hydra.

Summoner Spells

Hi! I'm Crusading Angel. Welcome to another one of my Mobafire guides! This is my second ever build guide here. This guide will focus on playing Tryndamere as a very agressive jungler and split pusher at the same time. I've used this build for a decent bit on my two accounts which are in Silver and Gold. I can't vouch for this build/guide in higher elo, but I believe it works decently fine in lower ELO. Please continue reading below in order to get a more in depth explanation.

Note: This guide will use the same format that I used in my first Mobafire guide. I like keeping things uniform. Hence I will use the same format and BBC codes to write this guide. I will also try to update this guide on a consistent basis (based off of feedback and in-game updates).
Abilities

Pros:
+ High Damage
+ Great at splitpushing
+ Amazing 1v1
+ Easy to learn
+ Does not use mana

Tryndamere is very good at fighting champions 1v1. Hence the reason why I like to play him as a split-push jungle. The fact that his e has such a low cooldown means that that can be used as both an engage as well as an escape. Pair that with your ultimate and it can often be very easy to go in with your e, finish the champion off (and ult etc.), and go out with that e. For that reason, I like to take ignite instead of flash when jungling to make him even more dangerous.

Cons:
- Little crowd control (cc), only has a slow
- Timing your ultimate can be difficult
- Susceptible to teams with a lot of cc
- All or nothing sort of champion

Tryndamere's biggest weakness is probably cc. Tryndamere is a champion that deals damage mostly through melee basic attacks. This means that Tryndamere has to get up close and in that opposing champion's face. This can be difficult if opposing champions can just lock him down or stun him in order to get away. At the same time, it can be somewhat hard to time your ultimate. His ultimate is put to best use when Tryndamere is at low health. I often try to time the ult at around 10-25% health for maximum damage output. However, sometimes that leads me to mistime everything and end up dying instead of ulting. This can lead to a lot of loss damage and can even cost you the game!
Top Build

Precision

Lethal Tempo

It will help speed up your autoattacks.

Triumph

Your ultimate is your bread and better. Going face first into an enemy means you'll generally come out with low health. Using this rune will help ensure you come out alive if you get some kills.

Legend: Alacrity

This is build focuses somewhat on attack speed. Use this rune to help add some more attack speed to help you split push and take turrets. You may want to switch to Legend: Tenacity if the other team has a lot of cc.

Cut Down

This rune will be of best use to you. You are generally going to be low health a lot. Hence this rune will be of best use to you.

Sorcery

Nimbus Cloak

This will help you move quicker so that you can chase and damage your enemies.

Transcendence

This rune will help reduce the cooldown on your skills. It specifically helps to decreae the cooldown on your Spinning Slash which will help you do more damage/chase/or escape.

Other Viable Runes

Sorcery

Gathering Storm

Again another pretty common rune taken on Tryndamere. This rune is naturally more helpful for you during the late game.

Precision

Legend: Tenacity

This rune will be good in situations where the enemy team has a lot of cc.
Jungle Build

I will generally go Smite and Flash while jungling. I may take Flash and Ignite or Teleport when going top.

Very Viable

Smite-

A must for when you're jungling.

Ignite-

I take Ignite when I know I can play very agressive in lane. Otherwise I will take Teleport and just play safe/farm it up for late game.

Teleport-

A great spell to use if you want to get back to turret, to farm, or to help out a teammate etc. This is great for when you are playing Tryndamere top.

Flash-

This skill is great for chasing, running through walls, initiating, etc.

Viable

Ghost-

I can't say that I use this much, but it may be helpful for ganks, escapes, kiting, and chasing.

Exhaust-

Your challenging smite already helps to decrease damage when jungling. Your Mocking Shout already helps to decrease damage. There are better ones to use.

Not Viable

Barrier-

This build focuses on doing as much damage as possible not shielding yourself.

Clarity-

Tryndamere doesn't even use mana! Plus this spell is no longer available in SR.

Cleanse-

It's true that cc hurts Tryndamere, but honestly there are a lot better summoner spells out there.

Heal-

This is generally used for ADCs. You already have an ult to "trick people" and an e to escape and a q to heal. You don't need heal when your kit has the same functionality as this spell.
Situational Items

Battle Fury (Passive)

Tryndamere gains 5 Fury for striking a unit or 10 Fury for a critical strike, and 10 extra Fury for killing a unit. When out of combat for 8 seconds, Tryndamere loses 5 fury every second.

Each point of Fury grants 0.35 / 0.4 / 0.45 / 0.5% Critical Chance (at levels 1/6/11/16).

You get fury for every strike, crit strike, and unit kill that you get.

Tips:

1. Get those last hits to help ensure you get as much fury as possible!
2. Save your fury for as long as possible. Higher fury, means higher crit chance.

Bloodlust (Q)

Passive: Tryndamere thirsts for blood, gaining 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 Attack Damage plus 0.15 / 0.2 / 0.25 / 0.3 / 0.35 per 1% Health missing.

Active: Tryndamere consumes his Fury, restoring 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 (+30% of ability power) Health , plus 0.5 / 0.95 / 1.4 / 1.85 / 2.3 (+1.2% of ability power) Health per Fury consumed.

The passive gives you greater damage when you are missing more health. The active helps heal you back up. Max this first.

Tips:

1. Save your Q until the very last moment. You do a lot more damage when you are at lower health.
2. Try to only use your Q at max fury. This skill has a decently long cooldown. You can easily reach max fury between cooldowns while playing jungle Tryndamere. Save the skill to help you have longer sustain in the jungle.

Mocking Shout (W)

Decreases surrounding champions' physical damage by 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80, and enemies with their backs turned also have their movement speed slowed by 30 / 37.5 / 45 / 52.5 / 60%. Lasts 4 seconds.

This skill has a physical damage debuff as well as a slow. I usually max this last.

Tips:

1. Uh... Use this when the enemy has their back turned towards you lol.
2. Use this at the start of team fights, even if enemies don't have their backs turned. This skill has a large effect radius and can substantially decrease enemy team damage. Slows will be an extra bonus in team fights.

Spinning Slash (E)

Active: Tryndamere spins through his enemies, dealing 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 (+80% of ability power) (+1.3 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to enemies in his path. Spinning Slash's cooldown is reduced by 1 second whenever Tryndamere critically strikes (2 seconds upon critically striking an enemy champion).

This skill can be used to engage or escape from different champions. Hitting crits will help decrease this cooldown. Max this second.

Tips:

1. Building crit can help you greatly decrease this cooldown during the game.
2. Similarly, save this skill in team fights. You want to save it just in case you need to escape.
3. Try to save this skill when going in for ganks. Enemy champions may attempt to flash away. Use to chase.

Undying Rage (R)

Tryndamere becomes completely immune to death for 5 seconds, refusing to be reduced below 30 / 50 / 70 Health and instantly gaining 50 / 75 / 100 Fury.

This skill essentially allows you to be unkillable for 5 seconds while also providing you more fury (which can be used to do more damage/crits/or to heal). Max this ASAP.

Tips:

1. Try to use this at as low health as possible.
