Introduction

Welcome to my in depth Trinity Twisted Fate guide

Hello,my name is Shazzaam. I'm a low diamond hardstuck that likes to play off meta things. I used to adore AD Kennen, but since it was completely removed from the game I was trying to find something similar. In season 9 I found Klepto Trinity Twisted Fate (also discovered by Jebsu) and I fell in love with it. But Klepto was removed. Luckily, Jebsu is back with updated Trinity Twisted Fate build. I have watched a lot of Jebsu's games and I hope that with this guide I'll be able to explain this build to you since its really really strong.
Why this build? Back to Top

Trinity Force
Reality is that standard AP Twisted Fate gets outscaled by almost every midlaner in the game. AP Twisted Fate is mostly a stun bot in the late game. This build plans on fixing this. Trinity Force is the main reason why this build is better and overall stronger than standard Twisted Fate. Twisted Fate with Trinity Force alone is stronger than normal Rod of Ages + Lich Bane. Standard Twisted Fate is stronger than Trinity Twisted Fate until Trinity Twisted Fate gets Phage+ Sheen. Also this build is very flexible. You can go hybrid, onhit or crit. The main drawback is that this build requires super good mechanics to get the maximum value from this build.
Pros and Cons Back to Top
PROS
+ Good 1 item powerspike
+ Global Preseance
+ Lot of fun to play
+ Has a lot less counters than standard Twisted Fate
+ Flexible
CONS
- Hard to pull off
- Weaker than standard Twisted Fate until Phage + Sheen
- Meh laning phase
Runes Back to Top

INSPIRATION
Twisted Fate can utilize every rune in the game perfectly fine. That's why we are taking this rune. It is basically randomized Spellbook, but instead of Summoner Spells, you get keystones. Although Predator was gutted for Prototype: Omnistone users, it's still solid as it can boost your 1v1 potential if you get Lethal Tempo , Press the Attack etc.
Considering we are going for the most expensive item in the game as our first item, we won't be focused onto getting boots. That's why we go this rune. We save 300 G and also get 10 bonus movement speed on our boots.
Gives us extra sustain if needed, but I use this rune mostly to sell the biscuit's for some money since you will still get mana from them even if you sell them. You can swap Biscuit Delivery for Future's Market, but for beginners I recommend having Biscuit Delivery until you get adjusted to Twisted Fate's laning phase.
Time Warp Tonic is a must for Twisted Fate. The sustain coming from Time Warp Tonic and Corrupting Potion is too good to pass by. Cosmic Insight is a good rune, but because its in the same row as Time Warp Tonic, we don't take it, even after Twisted Fate nerfs.

SORCERY
Nimbus Cloak is just a broken rune and should be removed from the game. You basically get Zoe's Spell Thief passive. Even if those 10.16 nerfs come in, it will still be a go to rune for Twisted Fate. Manaflow Band looks like a must since you won't get much mana from items. That's why we take Attack Speed in mini runes so we use auto attacks more than our spells (mainly our Q).
Transcendence is a must after 10.15 nerfs. It will help you until you max your W out when it will be just like before. Also other 2 runes are just beyond trash on Twisted Fate.
Scorch might look like a decent option for early game and while it gives you nice poke, its just not worth taking over Nimbus Cloak or Transcendence. Waterwalking is a decent option for early game roaming, but just like Scorch it isn't worth taking over Nimbus Cloak or Transcendence. Gathering Storm is useless on Twisted Fate since we are rely on our onhit damage in late game.

RESOLVE
Demolish is a good option to take for splitpushing, but is outshined by things like Conditioning, Overgrowth etc. Font of Life is a good utility rune, but I would only recommend taking this if you're playing support Twisted Fate (You can get Ardent Censer and when you stun or slow enemy, if someone from your team attack's enemy, they'll heal from Font of Life and get enhanced by Ardent Censer. Shield Bash is just beyond useless on Twisted Fate since you don't have a shield to proc it.
Conditioning is always good to take and is the most consistent. Second Wind is only good vs a lot of poke such as Xerath. Bone Plating is the key of surviving vs assassins.
Overgrowth will always be good (It gives you 45 + 3.5% max HP Health once you stack it to 120 monsters or minions). Revitalize is useless on Twisted Fate since he doesn't have any shields and the healing isn't all that good. Also Overgrowth and Unflinching are just better runes than Revitalize for Twisted Fate. Unflinching is really good vs a lot of cc since you can get up to 30% Tenacity.
Summoner Spells Back to Top

SUMMONER SPELLS
-
FLASH: Self explanatory. Always take it.
IGNITE: Ignite helps you in 2v2 and kill pressure while roaming. Overall good early game summoner spell.
TELEPORT: Teleport is strong at all stages of the game. In early game, you can use it to recall at awkward timings and still catch minions, removing kill pressure enemy had on you and gives you even more pressure in later game.
GHOST: This summoner spell is really really busted with Nimbus Cloak. The amount of movement speed you gain from this summoner spell is insane and it gives you a lot of catch potential, especially with Rapid Firecannon.
EXHAUST: This summoner spell is amazing vs assassins and burst champions. It reduces their damage by 40%. Strongly recommended into assassins if you struggle vs them.
Items Back to Top

STARTING ITEMS

This item helps us survive the laning phase and it also gives us more money to spend since we won't be needing to buy Health Potion's every time we recall since it autorefills itself.

CORE ITEM

This item is really really busted on Twisted Fate. It gives him everything he needs except AP, but that's why we're moving onto more onhit consistent damage dealer style than burst heavy style. Although this item is expensive, the amount of power it provides is unreal. With Trinity Force alone you're stronger regular AP Twisted Fate with completed Rod of Ages and Lich Bane.

BOOTS CHOICE

Combined with Phase Rush, you have a lot of mobility and slow resistance. If you don't need to buy Ninja Tabi or Mercury's Treads, buy these.
You mostly buy them into AD champions or champions that auto attack a lot.
These are a must vs a lot of crowd control.

2ND ITEM CHOICE

This item is broken on Twisted Fate. You gain 150 bonus range on your auto atatcks and combined with your gold card, you have long range point and click stun. Buy this at some point in the game. Always get it, either as 2nd or 3rd item. Although Wit's End gives usually more damage, Rapid Firecannon can deal more damage as 2nd item but its highly unlikely.
This item gives you a lot of 1v1 potential. Your damage really spikes with it and once you get below 50% HP the heal is nice and underrated. Alternative to Wit's End is Nashor's Tooth.
This item is mostly used to max out your CDR while also giving you attack speed and on hit damage. Wit's End's onhit damage will be higher than Nashor's Tooth until you hit ~400 AP which is highley unlikely, but its still good damage.

3RD ITEM CHOICE

Gives you good wave clear and a lot of attack speed, which is key with this build and the movement speed helps with -5 movement speed nerfs.
This item is honestly not a bad item. You can get it at any point in the game to be honest and it will be useful. Point and click damage is not bad while the slow helps you catch someone out with it and Rapid Firecannon empowered gold card.

ITEMS TO END YOUR BUILD

Super underrated item on Twisted Fate. First off all, this item makes you incredibly tanky and to top it all off the movement speed this item gives you is insane. Also it gives you up to 100 which is always nice.
This is an alternative to Hextech Gunblade. This is more utility focused item to catch multiple people out and if you get Glacial Augment from Prototype: Omnistone it will work just like you had Glacial Augment in the first place.
Makes you incredibly tanky and your dueling power increases a lot. Also the healing is honestly not half bad.
This is mostly to buff your damage up if you went for something like Rapid Firecannon and Runaan's Hurricane. You only really buy it if you have 2+ crit items.
It's mostly bought to max out your CDR. Crit is nice, but if you want max damage, you should really buy Infinity Edge.
Abilities Back to Top
PASSIVE
ABILITY
LOADED DICE (Passive): Upon killing a unit, Twisted Fate rolls his 'lucky' dice receiving anywhere between 1 and 6 bonus gold. Because of this passive, even if you fall behind in CS you're going to be relatively close in gold.
Q
WILD CARDS (Q): Twisted Fate throws three cards, dealing damage to each enemy unit they pass through. We max this first because this is our main waveclear ability with our Red Card since it has high base damage and the cooldown is quite low.
W
PICK A CARD (W): Twisted Fate chooses a magic card from his deck, and uses that for his next attack, causing bonus effects. We max this ability second.

Red Card deals Area of Effect damage. At level 7-8 with Wild Cards you can one shot casters. Also you can use it onto the towers and poke the enemies when they're hugging the tower.

Yellow Card stuns the target for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds, but has the lowest damage out of the three. This card will help you a lot in 1v1's since you'll often be hitting ~2 Attack Speed.

Blue Card has the highest base damage out of the 3 cards and it restores 50/75/100/125/150 mana. Good for lasthitting minions and if you're playing with Prototype: Omnistone and you get Dark Harvest don't be scared of plashing onto low people in early game, especially if you have stacked your Stacked Deck.
E
STACKED DECK (E): Every 4 attacks, Twisted Fate deals bonus damage. In addition, his Attack Speed is increased. This helps a lot with farming creeps under tower. You can use the enhanced attack combined with Pick A Card for a quick trade with the opponent. Even tho we're build a lot of attack speed, we max this ability last since it isn't that useful until later stages of the game.
R
DESTINY (R): Twisted Fate predicts the fortunes of his foes, revealing all enemy champions and enabling the use of Gate, which teleports Twisted Fate to any target location in 1.5 seconds.
It grants Twisted Fate True Sight on all enemy champions on the map for 6/8/10 seconds. While Destiny is active, Twisted Fate can teleport up to 5500 units away in 1.5 seconds.

This is what makes Twisted Fate such a strong SoloQ champion. With it you can get other lanes ahead and you can splitpush like you have Teleport since it's semi global. Also don't be scared of using it for vision around objectives and versus champions such as Kha'Zix, Shaco, Twitch etc.

How to play this build? Back to Top

Early Game

Always start Corrupting Potion. This helps you survive early game.
Early game with this build is the hardest part. You want to harass the enemy as much as possible, but don't give CS for that. Always prioritize getting a CS over getting 1 basic attack on enemy. Against champions with bad early wave clear, last hit first 2 waves and try to stack them and when cannon minion wave comes, push the wave in to reset it. It will give you time to ward, help your jungle with scuttle crabs or you can just base. Your best way of trading is with Pick A Card and Stacked Deck. You almost never get early game solo kills, so you should just focus on farming.
First back must always be Dark Seal and Ruby Crystal.
This build really starts to spike with Phage + Sheen.
You can go for Sheen before Phage, but make sure that you already have Dark Seal and Ruby Crystal since Sheen alone is really weak and bad.

Mid Game

By now you should have your Trinity Force. This is the point when Trinity Twisted Fate is stronger than AP Twisted Fate with Rod of Ages and Lich Bane. Before you finish your 2nd big item, Twisted Fate relies heavily on his Q base damage and Sheen damage. At this point he has a hybrid with spell damage and autos, but not pure dps. Try to shove your wave in and roam, but be careful with spamming Q since your mana isn't that high (That's why we usually take Attack Speed mini rune). Even if you cannot straight ult to your sidelanes, you should go out of vision to put pressure on enemy midlaner, and it'll lead to panic pinging to his sidelanes. When you leave vision, you put a lot of pressure because of your Destiny and with you going out of vision you can take off some pressure from your sidelanes in tough matchups and you protect them from 2v1 scenarios.

Late Game

You should get to sidelane and pressure enemy team. At this point you can easily 1v1 everyone, especially if you have Exhaust. Also try to flank enemy team with your Destiny. Most people don't watch where you ult at this point in the game, and ulting behind enemy in some bush that they don't have vision can win you the fight.
Tips and Tricks Back to Top
1. At 1:20 go to enemy Raptors and place the ward in the middle of raptors camp and red buff's wall. This will show enemy jungler and by looking at his CS you'll be able to figure out what camps he did (Every camp is 4 CS). This can help your jungler a lot.

2. Try to stop enemy midlaner basing with your Q.

3. Look at your minimap as much as possible. Also you can hold F-keys F1-F4 (By default F1 focuses on you;change that so F1-F4 focuses on your teammates since you probably use spacebar to focus on yourself. Also you shouldn't use locked camera) to look at teammates point of view.

4. When you activate Pick A Card, walk up to the enemy while its rotating. That way you can zone them from minions.

5. If you have Prototype: Omnistone and you get Dark Harvest, stack your E and pick Blue Card and just flash onto low HP target in early game.

Skins Back to Top
I use skins in this order, with High Noon and Cutpurse being the main ones, while other 3 are not bad. Underworld Twisted Fate used to have highly transparant and small particle visuals on both the AA animation and Wild Cards, but in my experience playing with that skin at ~2 Attack Speed is really awkward and quirky.
