Champion Build Guide

Nunu Diamond OCE, Tanky Ganky Speedball

By NautilusBIG
Introduction

NeW 10.7 UpDaTe

Hello there friends, Im a Diamond S+ OCE Nunu & Willump player with hundreds of games played as this giant fluffy ball.

This guide was written for the Intermediate Jungler wanting to play Nunu & Willump, it's assumed that you regularly play ranked as a jungler.

Is Nunu for you?
This guide is for players that want a tanky, and very ganky jungler. Nunu & Willump is more of a 'tank' jungler rather than a 'carry' jungler like Master Yi or Lee Sin. Great champ if everyone on your team picks glass cannons.

Pros
- Lots of survivability and hard to kill
- Easily able to solo the jungle from lvl 1
- Easily solo Dragons and Rift Herald
- Ability to carry full team of squishys
- Very fast paced

Cons
- Cant hard carry
- Very fast paced

Can I climb ELOs with Nunu & Willump?
Thats really up to matchmaking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, but there is no shortage of penta-chasing one tricks in I/B/S/G.
Runes
These runes maximise survivability, movement speed and healing:

Works great with Biggest Snowball Ever!
The target of your Biggest Snowball Ever! will now heal your teammates!
More survivability
Makes Font of Life stronger

More movement speed
More movement speed, river only

Bonuses:
YELLOW +9% Attack Speed
PURPLE +6 AD or +10 AP
RED +5 Armor
Abilities
This build gives you the most survivability and longest slows:

Max Q first - Chomp on anything to deal damage and HEAL you.
Max E second - Each toss will slow, and at the end all enemies within your radius with a stack will be rooted.
Max W last - Smash into things, can be steered in the jungle corridors.
Max R ASAP - Giant AOE spell that slows and outputs damage at its end.
Items

Starting

As soon as you load in.

First Back

Once you hit 950 gold recall and buy all the above, Control Wards are optional but highly recommended.

Follow up

recall to complete each item, one at a time.

Core

Dead Man's Plate + Biggest Snowball Ever! gives you ridiculous movement speed, you can outrun 99% of champs.

Good final build

Once the core is done, you'll want a Spirit Visage to give you bigger heals and survivability. Then either a Warmog's Armor first if they have high physical damage, or a Adaptive Helm first if they have high magic damage.

Situationals

Can replace Mercury's Treads if the opposite team has low magic damage, this is rare though.
Can be picked up after getting your Warmog's Armor or an Adaptive Helm, mostly cosmetic.
Can be taken instead of Dead Man's Plate if there's someone really SPECIAL on your team.
Can be picked up early-mid game, along with Ninja Tabi, if they have low magical damage, this is again rare.
Can be bought after Warmog's Armor, if they're dealing low magic damage, again this is rare.
Can replace your Skirmisher's Sabre - Cinderhulk, if you ABSOLUTELY MUST have another slow atop all your others.
Can replace a Gargoyle Stoneplate, if you're already snowballing hard and have excess gold, very sparkly!
Gameplay Guide

Starting

Buy Hunter's Talisman and Refillable Potion, then follow the 'Ideal Jungle Pathing'

Early Game

Once you complete the 'Ideal Jungle Pathing' route, you'll be able to start ganking.
Just gank any lane where the opposite team has pushed your team back to their tower and are real juicy.

A gank usually is:
1. OTW ping the target you're about to gank
2. Biggest Snowball Ever! into the target.
3. Consume
4. Repeatedly mash E key to spam Snowball Barrage while attacking them, this will slow them down and eventually root.
5. Challenging Smite can be used now if target is still alive.
6. Emote after kill

Mid Game

Continue ganking lanes when they're ripe, and spend any down time clearing your jungle camps.

- You can now solo the Dragons and Rift Herald whenever they spawn.

Nunu & Willump is not a strong tower taking champ, but shreds minion waves.
To clear waves fast:
1. Biggest Snowball Ever! into the cannon minion
2. Consume cannon minion
3. Smack up the melee minion while Immolate from your Skirmisher's Sabre - Cinderhulk melts the caster minion
4. Finish off any survivors
5. Remember to hit the tower at least once to trigger Call of the Freljord

Depending on team composition, you're normally the initiator and tank, teamfights go the same as ganks but:
1. Biggest Snowball Ever! into their strongest carry or ADC, or try to
2. Pop Absolute Zero if at least 2 enemies, you can end your R early if they're getting out of range.
3. Consume and Snowball Barrage their strongest carry or ADC

Late Game

Once you get your 'Core Items', you've hit the late game phase.

This mainly involves rotating until victory:
- Teamfights
- Killing Dragons
- Killing Baron Nashor
- Solo pushing lane waves, but not taking towers alone

Winning teamfights is usually the biggest priority, but yeah its LoL
General Tips and FAQ
- Once you get your Skirmisher's Sabre, you can solo Dragons and Rift Herald
- Once you have a Spirit Visage, you can solo Baron Nashor . Can take awhile though.
- Got ganked and outnumbered? Biggest Snowball Ever! out of there.
- Got dived and dying in a teamfight? Biggest Snowball Ever! out of there.
- Use your Oracle Lens constantly.
- Use your Control Ward mostly at the Dragon or Baron Nashor pit, should basically have one up all the time.
- Dead Man's Plate + Biggest Snowball Ever! + Homestart gives otherworldly movement speed.
- Snowball Barrage triggers a root at the END of its timer, the projectiles only slow.
- Absolute Zero is great for stopping someone from getting away.
- Honor the most chill guy or girl at the end of the match.
