To everyone who visits my stream and watches or reads my guides!
Hi guys! My name's Pocket and I'm a League of Legends guide creator. I make video guides on YouTube as well as doing VOD reviews with an assortment of high ELO co-hosts on Twitch, and sometimes I even get chance to play the game myself. If you want to check out my YouTube, Twitch or come hang out in Discord click the links below!

This guide comes with an In-Depth video!
In it we go over some of the more abstract concepts that are harder to convey over text to really help you master Lulu and I suggest giving it a watch!

Lulu!

So if you're here you've probably already decided to play Lulu, but lets take a little to time to talk about what Lulu can do and why she works! This section will go well with the Synergies tab above, which I will be fleshing out over the course of S11!

Passive - Pix
Lulu's Passive is Pix, Faerie Companion, who fires a barrage of 3 bolts towards Lulu's target when she uses a basic attack on-attack. Each bolt deals 5 − 39 (based on level) (+ 5% AP) magic damage to Lulu's attack target or to the first enemy they collide with, for a total of 15 − 117 (based on level) (+ 15% AP) magic damage on hitting a single enemy with all three bolts.

Pix can be sent to other targets with the use of your E - Help, Pix!, which can lead to some interesting interactions which we talk about in the video that comes with this guide!

Q - Glitterlance
Lulu's Q is Glitterlance. Both Lulu and Pix fire a magic bolt towards the target point, each one dealing magic damage, reduced to 70% against minions, and slowing them by 80%, decaying over 2 seconds.

It's important to consider where Pix is, so that you know exactly where the second bolt will fire from. Hitting them both deal bonus damage, so you must try to maximise your double hits!

W - Whimsy
Lulu's W is Whimsy. Whimsy may be cast on both allied and enemy champions, each with a different effects.

On ally cast Lulu instantly casts erratic magic upon the target ally champion or herself, giving the target bonus attack speed and 30% (+ 5% per 100 AP) bonus movement speed for the next few seconds.

On enemy cast Lulu launches a spell on the target enemy champion, polymorphing them into a harmless critter.

Consider which will be best in every scenario, and don't underestimate the power of buffing your ally!

E - Help, Pix!
Lulu's E is Help, Pix!. Pix may be cast on both allied and enemy champions, as well as minions and monsters each with a different effects.

On ally cast Lulu sends Pix to the target ally, and if they are a champion she shields them for 2.5seconds.

On enemy cast Lulu sends Pix to the enemy for 4 seconds, revealing them for the same duration and dealing a certain amount of magic damage.

Consider which will be best in every scenario, and don't underestimate the power of aggressive using your E in lane, it's a significant amount of base damage against squishy ADCs and Supports!
Keystone

Summon Aery
VS

Guardian
Aery is a great rune for poking down the enemy with offensive spells and basic attacks, as well as defending against consistent poke with defensive spells! This makes it the better choice into poke or sustain heavy enemies. Guardian offers no offensive advantage but it is much better into hard engage as it gives both you and your ADC more survivability. The long cooldown makes it bad into enemies with consistent poke damage though.

SORCERY

Sorcery is a fantastic tree for Lulu and Summon Aery is a fantastic keystone. It offers you better in-lane poke with both abilities and auto-attacks and it also grants a shield to allies that you use abilities on (this can only be granted to one ally at a time!). It also gives you access to some fantastic runes in the Sorcery tree, as we will see.
Manaflow Band is a great rune on Lulu. You have many ways to use your abilities both offensively and defensively and manaflow band keeps your mana pool healthy, allowing you to use your abilities with less worry about going OOM (out-of-mana) and being relatively useless. A must take.
A must have on Lulu right now for me. It gives consistent Ability Haste scaling at level 5 and 8 and the passive that activates at level 11 allows for more ability spam during teamfights. This is especially useful for your W that has a big impact but a long cooldown!
In this line you can choose between Gathering Storm and Scorch. My typical choice is Scorch as it has the higher early game damage and Lulu does not have the highest AP scalings to get the most from Gathering Storm.

SECONDARIES

For our secondaries we will usually choose the Resolve tree. This is to access Revitalize, which is a fantastic pick on Lulu. You do a lot of shielding via your E and items such as Moonstone Renewer and Redemption it also buffs hielding via Aery and incoming heals and shields from self cast abilities or allies such as Shen!

Our second rune in this tree will be either Conditioning or Bone Plating.
Choosing between these two is easy, if the enemy has lots of poke then Conditioning is better, if the enemy has hard engage then Bone Plating is better.
If the enemy has neither than usually you will pick Bone Plating.

RESOLVE

Guardian is the must-take keystone into hard engage supports suck as Nautilus or Leona. It offers significant protection from engage by shielding both you and your ally, as well as access to a number of defensive runes in the Resolve tree. It's long cooldown makes it bad when the enemy ADC or support have extremely good poke, such as Ezreal, Senna, Zerath or Brand.
Font of Life is a great rune on Lulu because it marks all enemies that you slow or immobilise, meaning it works with your Q, W and Ult. MArked enemies will heal allies who auto-attack them. This also counts as healing that will activate Ardent Censer & Staff of Flowing Water passives! A must pick with Guardian.
As you will likely be going into hard engage while using Guardian, bone plating is the typical choice. It offers great protection from burst damage, but like the keystone it has a long cooldown and is bad into poke!
As we talked about above, Revitalize is just a fantastic rune on Lulu, take this every game!

SECONDARIES

For our secondaries we will choose the Inspiration tree. This si for access to the rune Cosmic Insight. It offers your both summoner spell haste, which is nice for safety as your flash and exhaust will be up more, but also item haste. This item haste effects things such as Moonstone Renewer and Redemption which we will talk about next section, and it really increases the effectiveness of Moonstone in particular!

Our second ssecondary will be Biscuit Delivery. This rune will help solve your mana issues early and later on, offering you early mana regen as well as permanent maximum mana increases.
Boots

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Core boots for Lulu, offering both summoner spell and ability haste is really nice and they are also the cheapest boots in game! I will buy these every game unless the enemy has an incredibly one-sided damage comp, in which case you should look toward the fitting defensive choice.

Plated Steelcaps
The first and most common defensive choice. Personally I only build these into full AD comps but I always build these into full AD comps. Even when ahead these are just a fantastic build when the enemy are all physical damage auto-attackers and bringing your own damage and healing down a little to absolutely nuke their kill potential on you is an awesome trade, so don't be afraid of this even when you're ahead!

Mercury's Treads
Honestly, I find myself building these very rarely in this meta. While they do give you the only buyable tenacity for an enchanter, full or even heavy AP comps are becoming more and more rare. For that reason I find little use for them and often Ionian Boots of Lucidity are the better pick to reduce the cooldown on your abilities for better dis-engage, or Mobility Boots to make you speedier and make dodging skillshots easier! That said if they do have a double AP botlane, then just like with Tabis, pick yourself up some Merc Treads!

Core Items

Moonstone Renewer
A fantastic item for Lulu as it adds a significant amount of healing to your kit. It's cheap, has a great build path and just synergisies super well with your supportive kit. I build this in every game now!

Ardent Censer
A genuinely fantastic item on Lulu as it offers both attack speed and on-hit damage (just like your W and your E!). A great buy as a second item, especially with hyper carries such as Twitch

Situational Items

Staff of Flowing Water
The so-called 'AP Ardent Censer'. This item costs the same, has the same build path and the same stats as Ardent Censer but instead of granting allies attack speed it grants them AP and movement speed. Therefore this is better with AP allies, or those that prefer movement speed to attack speed!

Redemption
A great option if you are teamfighting a lot, or contesting many objectives. It will heal all allies and damage all enemies in a huge zone, which will likely encompass the entire fight. It also offers a massive +20% heal and shield power. Not great if you are splitting a lot though, so a situational pick!

Vigilant Wardstone
A great item to finish off with, it offers the ability to hold 3 control wards and also the ability to place an extra control and stealth ward, for 4 steralth wards and two control ward sup at one time. This vision advantage is huge, but it's less useful in the lower ELOs because your team will not use it wisely.

Mikael's Blessing
Mikael's Blessing is a situational support item offering a potentially game changing active ability that allows you to cleanse all CC* currently affecting an ally champion and give them slow immunity for 2 seconds after. It take's time to learn when and when not to use this, but taking core CC off your ADC and allowing them to continue to DPS can be very useful indeed. It also offers haste, magic resist and a further 20% heal and shield power!

*doesn't work on knock-ups, groundings or disarms.
