Champion Build Guide

[12.13] r/NocturneMains Guide - Season 11

By Penguto
Introduction

Hello my name is Penguto and i am a Nocturne Player, i come from the r/NocturneMains subreddit here to give you the best advice from my research from the subreddit, this is an UNOFFICIAL GUIDE of the subreddit i am not a Mod or own the right of claiming the guide title. if you have any questions or discussions make sure to comment

Jungle Path
Your Jungle path goes like this, you don't need a leash from your laners you can do it alone and its better to not distract your laners. Start Red Brambleback and Smite it, then make sure to unlock your W for the passive attack speed, you don't use it's active since jungle monsters don't use abilities, next is Krugs after Raptors then you can either gank or keep going to Wolves then Blue Sentinel then Gromp then lastly Smite Rift Scuttler . Remember you dont always start the same buff, if you need to counter gank make sure to know where the enemy starts to end on the same path as the enemy.(THIS IS THE MOST OPTIMAL PATH, fastest/full clear)

Summary:
Red Brambleback - Smite
Krugs
Raptors
Wolves
Blue Sentinel
Gromp
Rift Scuttler - Smite
Playstyle Builds
Nocturne is a champion that has variety of builds and has no optimal build.

- you take Stridebreaker builf since its the best item right now on nocturne, you can catch up with champions so your E lands and you won't get 1shot if you R in the enemy team,

- you take Duskblade of Draktharr when there are squishy champions against you such as mages and adc's. You can also take Sanguine Blade as your third item to split push lanes in the late game. And build a more survivability with Edge of Night and Guardian Angel to have a more dive into teamfights playstyle.

- You can also take Eclipse if you are playing assassin against tanks, since it does max health damage after 2 separate attacks. Make sure to take black cleaver and other items to support doing damage against tanks.

-If there are burst champions that can easily one-shot you such as Kha'Zix, Rengar, Kai'Sa or Zed. You will survive their burst and with Goredrinker you can get your health back up in teamfights this is more of a bruiser build, you still do damage but not as much.

-If you still are against bursty champions but you cant catch up to your enemies and need more mobility take Stridebreaker since it gives you a free dash and slow in front of you which makes it easier to hit your fear.

- When you are against a team of tanks, imagine Ornn, Malphite and Rammus in the same team you should definitely build Kraken Slayer since you do true damage and with crit you can 1v1 tanks and stay alive with Bloodthirster keeping you alive.
Pros/Cons

PROS

- Has great jungle clear
- great at dueling (1v1's)
- Great gank potential at lvl 6
- Removes vision of enemies with ult
- Great at eliminating backline

CONS

- Falls off late
- gets one-shot easily
- needs ultimate to be at full potential
Runes

Precision

Lethal Tempo is the primary rune for Nocturne since it provides great attack speed and works with every build, this provides the highest dps and you can proc your passive faster.

Triumph is a great rune to survive teamfights, 2v1's or 3v3's in the bot lane, you dont want to die as soon as you get a kill

Legend: Alacrity is a rune that goes well with Lethal Tempo and gives you more times to proc your passive faster.

Coup de Grace is a great item to finish off since you have a lot of lifesteal from your passive or/and items, you will survive more and make sure to finish off the enemies when they are low.

Domination

Sudden Impact is a great rune that works well with your ultimate Paranoia, because of this you can ult tanks and still do decent damage.

Ultimate Hunter Is a core rune to take since it gives us ultimate cooldown which is the reason Nocturne is strong he can ult faster which provides better ganks and teamfights.
Conclusion

That's all for this guide, i will probably add more chapters to this guide in the future so stay tuned, and check out my other guides i have created.
