Hi, i have a question. Since Yone is able to reach 100% crit with two items, isn't building Infinity Edge second item rather than Bloodthrister a waste or is there a reason behind that? I am quite new to Yone so I don't understand much. Thanks for the awesome guide btw! :D

I'm glad you liked the guide!

Infinity Edge second actually gives you more value on Yone compared to most champions because of him hitting 100% critical strike chance off of two items because Infinity Edge's passive only takes effect after 65% crit chance. Bloodthirster second is quite good if you find you simply need to survive better instead of doing more damage.

For example, against high DPS champions like Irelia and Yasuo or against tanks that don't bring much CC but are big damage threats like Cho'Gath, Bloodthirster second is quite valuable.

As a general rule of thumb though, don't build Bloodthirster second if you build Immortal Shieldbow as your mythic item. You just are not building enough damage and will eventually fall off unless you build into another heavy damage item.

Ah! I just saw this, "every 1% critical strike chance in excess of 100% is converted into 0.4 bonus AD." Sorry, I should have looked into this before asking. Thanks anyway!

Yoyo, what do u think about Galeforce, cuz in other builds i see people said taht kraken is overrated

DarDarThePenguin (2) | January 14, 2021 4:18pm
Personally I think Galeforce and Kraken are Yone's two best mythics as of right now (Patch 11.1). I personally hate the item though. I was intending on including it in the guide if it went unnerfed next patch, but coming next patch Riot is undoing the buffs that made it viable in the first place, so I wouldn't recommend playing it now since the build will most likely become unplayable next patch.

Of course, if it prevails I'll be adding a section for it in the guide under the "itemization" section!

Finally nice Yone guide! Can u just explain why dont u use PD ( phantom dancer )

DarDarThePenguin (2) | December 25, 2020 7:54am
Glad you liked the guide!

Phantom Dancer used to be a lot better before you needed so little attack speed in your items to hit maximum efficiency on Yone's Q/W. The Shieldbow build used to run it second item usually. At the moment though, Yone can't really abuse Phantom Dancer first item because you no longer get the shield from it nor do you get any damage to crit with. Because of the combination of low crit multiplier and no AD to buff your damage, Phantom Dancer is a terribly low damage item that offers no utility and therefore no reason to purchase.
As for buying it later in your build... Phantom Dancer is really only useful on Yone because of the attack speed it gives. At those later points in your build, you don't need the attack speed bonus since you'll hit perfect attack speed with Greaves and Shieldbow or Kraken Slayer. Not to mention, it competes with items that prove to be far better than it based on the circumstance. It just doesn't compare to Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge, etc.

Hope that helps! Merry Christmas!

Nice guide pal, but i have a question, is it worth it going for guinsoo first item? In my recent matches i've been building guinsoo, shieldbow and bt in that order but i really dont know if it is that good on him.

DarDarThePenguin (2) | December 4, 2020 12:04am
I'm glad you like the guide!

Guinsoo's Rageblade is completely inferior to all other first items for Yone now because they changed the way the passive works with the on-hit damage.

Previous, the doubled crit chance from Yone's passive would double the amount of on-hit damage Guinsoo's Rageblade did. Because the on-hit is no longer doubled, the efficiency of the item is cut in half. This causes all other first items to do more damage and supply more utility than Rageblade as a first item.

The best guide i have seen for yone, indepth and explains everything, but i have a question, and if you could ansnwer back, isnt lifesteal rune good on yone? Without the allacrity you could reach the 1.33 cd on yone q then why to get it?
1
DarDarThePenguin (2) | December 3, 2020 1:19am
First off, I'm glad you like the guide!

To answer your question though... Taking Alacrity allows for Yone to hit his magical attack speed number a lot sooner in the game. The math results in hitting 1.33 second cooldown on Q at about level 9 assuming you have Kraken, Greaves, Infinity Edge, and a fully stacked Alacrity. Bloodline would require another full item (assuming your third item gives no attack speed) AND an additional level before hitting that benchmark. This results in you having to spent about 3000 more gold on average and get the extra level just to hit the same benchmark. Because the downside right now is so massive and Bloodline can take up to 30 minutes before fully stacking compared to Alacrity normally taking at most 15 minutes.

Next patch (10.25) Yone is getting an AS/level buff. Because it's 1% additional bonus AS per level, that means that at level 12 you will basically have the equivalent of Alacrity. Because of this, I anticipate that in 10.25 Yone will be taking Bloodline as his most optimal Legend rune. Of course, I intend on updating the guide for that patch. If it becomes meta then, it'll certainly be changed!
