On todays guide we will be focusing on Swain, a personal favorite of mine. Swain in the current meta is an excellent pick if you are looking to hard carry. Precision

Swain is a champion that Excels in Extended trades and does incredibly high DPS. he out damages most ADC's with his insane damage and Conqueror stacks really well with his kit. Both the bonus ability power, and the bonus healing comes in clutch!

Swain does occasionally run into some mana problems when taking fights in extended trades. This is why Presence of Mind is an amazing option. It essentially allows you to never run out of manage in team fights as long as you snag a kill here and there.

Since Swain is so hard to kill already taking bonus tenacity just amplifies this issue for your enemies.

Easy kills baby! take this over the other two all the time, you want to secure the bag as much as possible, you won't regret this rune!

Domination

Swain has two forms of hard crowd control with his E and his passive, both of these when paired with Cheap Shot are extremely useful. Cheap Shot does a great amount of damage in early laning phase.

Ultimate Hunter provides you with much needed late game cooldown reduction You should always take this rune when running the Swain train.

SUMMONER SPELLS - FLASH: Flash: Is mandatory. It is valuable as a play making ability, chasing down opponents, kiting enemies, setting up plays etc… HEAL: Heal: Always a safe option, it provides great Movement for kiting, helps save teammates, helps save yourself.

Starting Items

Doran's Ring I’d say on Swain, you practically always want to start Doran’s ring with 2 potions.

Tear of the Goddess This item isn't bad on the offchance you are in a very low threat hard to kill lane. The extra mana can prove to be useful in the later stages of the game

Core Build

There is one core build I like focusing on with Swain, it provides great DPS, great playmaking ability, fantastic sustain and amazing damage. Personally at this point and time I think going anything else isn’t ideal.

Liandry's Anguish Liandry's Anguish gives you great spamming ability, allowing you to constantly harrass and poke your enemies out of lane. The DPS also synergizes very well with your kit

Sorcerer's Shoes Very gold efficient Magic Penetration for cost.

Demonic Embrace Demonic Embrace provides you with great damage, armor and magic resist!

Zhonya's Hourglass Zhonya's Hourglass provides you with much needed survivability and pairs extremely well with your ultimate. Casting your ultimate and then Zhonya's right after, makes you un-targatble and able to heal back to full HP

Rylai's Crystal Scepter Rylai's Crystal Scepter Applies on hit slow with all your kit, making it very hard to escape you in team fights. consider taking this against high mobility comps

Situational Items

Morellonomicon Great against high healing comps, if you look at the enemy team and see Aatrox Soraka Kayn Nami its definitely worth a buy.

Mejai's Soulstealer Mejai's Soulstealer is a great buy if you are very confident in your snowball ability, if you fully stack this item it is so crazy gold efficient. Another upside is you will be virtually one shotting everyone!

Spirit's Visage

Spirit's Visage Spirits Visage is an amazing option if you need extra tank stats. The healing pairs extremely well with your kit, making you very hard to kill.

Swain has a great laning phase and this is generally where you want to try and take hold of the game. After starting with Nevermove throw it out every time your opponent is trying to last hit your minions. Use the fact that they are trapped in their own auto attack animation against them. If you land this ability level one, and you pull them in you essentially win the early stages of the lane. After doing this a couple times try to set up a kill, with a Nevermove Vision of Empire Death's Hand combo. If you are laning with any other mage this is an easy frag every time.

When you hit level 6 in lane, try to coordinate some form of all in with your support. If you land any form of crowd control use your ultimate followed by a flash right into the enemies face. They won't be escaping with their lives, your ultimate range covers the enemies flash range, and they won't be able to out DPS your ultimate and passive sustain if you land any abilities.

In the mid stages of the game your main goal is to fight around objectives. Try to bait the enemy team into fighting you. In the mid game you are at your strongest so abuse this fact and really roll over your enemies wherever possible. Try your best to land your Nevermove on priority targets, and then pull them into your team with your passive ability. Fighting in chokes makes this a lot easier, and greatly increases your DPS. If the enemy is trying to engage on you in a choke, its almost always a good idea to fight these fights as Swain

In the late game Swain falls off slightly. Your main goal at this point is just being an extremely disruptive drain tank. Try to position yourself in between your enemies front line and your own backline, and use crowd control to peel your carries and shred their tanks.
