Champion Build Guide
Hello! Welcome to my Samira guide! My name is DoubleFeedOP and I'm currently a Grandmaster 1 ADC Player who has officially completed their first full season! I peaked at Grandmasters 74 LP During Season 10 and strive to make a conscious effort of furthering myself and my fellow ADC community. I stream on Twitch so be sure to stop by if you have any questions or leave a comment on my guide and I'll be sure to respond to you as fast as possible! |
What makes me qualified to write this guide? I've played countless hours of Samira since her release and think that there's a demand for new Samira guides and I'm here to provide them for you! I hope that you enjoy my guide and that it furthers your Samira gameplay. |
+ Currently top of the meta + An assassin disguised as an ADC + Can have the katarina effect, having one of the highest pentakill potential out of any other ADC. + Very snowbally because of Wild Rush and it's inherently snowbally aspect because it resets on kills. + Fun and high skill cap champion + Can help you understand how assassins have to shift their playstyle to accommodate for the enemy team Samira has her ups and downs but one of the greatest parts of playing Samira is the feeling that you're playing an assassin in a role that's centered around squishy AD carries. You get to abuse the fact that you have enormous kill pressure and can zone out enemy carries as a result. If you put in the work, you'll be swimming in LP but the reason her winrate is sub 50 is because people don't put in the work and lose games as a result. She's got huge outplay potential especially because you're most likely going to be building Immortal Shieldbow which is going to enable an insurmountable amount of lifesteal to allow you to outplay and continue ulting your opponents one after the other. |
- Because she's snowbally, requires a lead or you will fall off hard later on - One of the shortest ranges - Has a very unique playstyle so hard to pickup if you haven't played assassins before. - Can easily be CC'd to block out her ultimate so needs good execution to work - Her all-in nature leaves her vulnerable while the enemy ADC just has to sit back and shoot - Doesn't synergize well with ardent supports because of her emphasis on getting ahead early game. If you're against a champion like Draven, you should avoid Samira unless you're confident you can get ahead. CC heavy comps are the bane of Samira. You need to be careful when drafting her because if you run into a Leona, Samira might as well not exist in the later stages of the game. Be sure to do your champ select due diligence and draft Samira with a CC heavy support such as Leona. The entire point of Samira is to be able to get to the point of an S grade with your passive and activating your ultimate, Inferno Trigger. As an assassin by nature, look to take advantage of the early game and keeping your opponents behind for the rest of the game or fall off and become a relic of what you once were. |
Daredevil Impulse Take advantage of CC'd targets and stack your passive for your ultimate To sum it up, there are multiple segments that make up your passive. Samira is inherently an assassin because of these 3 parts. The first is that you get a grade that you have to stack to S (6 Unique spells/auto attacks) and for every stack you have, you get extra movement speed. This is why stacking her passive and getting off your ultimate is so strong. Using Inferno Trigger consumes all of these stacks so that you can repeat the process. The second part of Samira is that when you get into melee range you get extra magic damage and your Q becomes shoots off an AOE arc instead of just a bullet. Lastly, when a target is CC'd, you can right click on them and dash toward them to do a massive amount of damage Flair Your main poke/Damage at melee range. So typically when you're trying to decide how to use your Flair, you use it to poke or accrue stacks during a teamfight. You can use this because of its low cooldown to gather a few passive stacks and Wild Rush > Blade Whirl and cancel it with your Inferno Trigger. Ideally you can also use this during a level 3 all-in and use it melee range because it does much more damage that way. Blade Whirl Dodge skillshots and stack your passive. So Blade Whirl is one of those abilities that you want to use either at the end of your combo or at the beginning because of the length of time that you spend in the animation. You can cancel this ability with your Inferno Trigger so using it as a last passive stack is great. Use this to dodge skill shots and help secure engages. Remember that abilities like Lulu's Whimsy can be blocked with Blade Whirl because it still counts as a projectile. On the other hand, Jhin's Deadly Flourish goes right through because it still counts as part of him until the ability hits you. Wild Rush Resets on kills, can be used to disengage or run away as well. The key takeway from Wild Rush is that you can use it as an engage and a disengage. I like to use Wild Rush when going for engages because no matter where you are it will always use its max 600 range. A tip is that you can use this ability right next to a minion and go max distance sometimes putting you in melee distance of the enemy surprising them. You can this ability with Inferno Trigger when going for team wipes which is why I call Samira the Katarina of ADC's. Inferno Trigger Katarina-Like R that uses 100% of your lifesteal and on hit effects. The way you use this ability is quite tricky because of the fact that it uses up your passive stacks and therefore your movement speed boost you get from it. Quickly spiraling like Katarina, Samira does the same but applying 100% of her lifesteal and on-hit effects. I've been meaning to test Tiamat because it might be pretty good with this ability. When using this ability, you want to be as centered as possible because once you use it unless you have Wild Rush resets it is very difficult to maneuver. The beauty of this ability is that it has a 3 second cooldown so after you use it getting your passive stacks to use it again is a breeze.

// Samira can quickly stack Conqueror because of the fact that not only do your abilities grant Conqueror stacks, but the fact that she can turn melee means that you can grab 2 stacks per auto attack instead of 1 during her ranged form. The AD and lifesteal you get from Conqueror are staples in a Samira build and a warm welcome as a primary rune.
Q: Is this the best set-up for Samira?
// Unlike other champions, Samira is pretty set and stone with the necessary stats she needs. She really needs AD and Lifesteal so this rune works perfectly with Samira
✦ Presence of Mind The reason that you go Presence of Mind is because if you think about it, how many times have you survived because of having a few extra hp instead of running out of mana? It's been proven that you run out of mana much more often than having those low hp situations as an ADC and with Samira's lifesteal coming from her items and runes, Triumph doesn't really seem like a good option for her. Triumph is an alternative but the missing hp heal isn't nearly as good as the mana regen you get from Presence of Mind. |
✦ Legend: Bloodline Just like with everything else I've said in the runes section, she craves lifesteal. Legend: Bloodline provides just that and because of her assassin nature, Legend: Alacrity doesn't make much sense. |
✦ Coup de Grace Coup de Grace is great because it helps you peel low HP targets and finish out fights. Because you're playing an assassin, you'll have times where you can quickly burst targets under the threshold needed to gain the Coup de Grace damage buff helping you finish out targets. The only other alternative would be Cut Down but that doesn't make much sense because 99% of the time you're going to play aggressively in the early game to get that lead needed to snowball out of control. |
SECONDARY RUNES |
Taste of Blood Synergizes perfectly with Samira, giving her extra healing to be able to win fights. Ravenous Hunter Also helps Samira sustain in fights and become the lifesteal goddess she is. |
