"Welcome to the most in-depth Kassadin guide on Mobafire. My name is xracer022 and I am a Challenger Kassadin OTP. In this guide, I’ll break down the tips and tricks you need to play Kassadin like a Challenger player in Season 11.

I’ll break down everything you need to know about Kassadin from Runes, Builds and Kassadin's laning phase.

I started playing Kassadin in Season 9 and have been playing him ever since. I have around 1 million mastery points with Kassadin and been consistently Challenger on him since Season 9. My peak is Challenger 800LP. Special thanks to Silverman43 who helped me a lot with writing this guide!"


" Kassadin is one of the best late game champions if not the best in the game. With the champion you can decide almost any game for you if you play Kassadin correctly.It's totally a 1v9 champion and if you hit level 16 it's really broken. You really should play this champion if you want to be the carry in the game. But the matchups are really important to be as strong as possible."

Innate: Kassadin is permanently ghosted and takes 15% reduced magic damage.

Active: Kassadin fires a void bolt, interrupting channel spells and dealing magic damage to the target enemy while granting himself a shield that absorbs magic damage for 1.5 seconds.

Nether Blade
Passive: Kassadin's basic attacks draw energy from the void, dealing bonus magic damage.

Active: Kassadin charges his Nether Blade, causing his next basic attack to deal bonus magic damage and restore a percentage of his missing mana (increased against champions.)
- Increased Bonus Magic Damage: 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 / 170 (+ 80% AP)
- Mana Restored: 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 % of missing mana

Force Pulse
Passive: Kassadin gains a void energy stack each time he or a nearby champion uses an ability, stacking up to 6 times. At 6 stacks, Kassadin gains the ability to cast Force Pulse.
Active: Kassadin draws energy from spells cast in his vicinity, gaining a charge whenever a spell is cast near him. Upon reaching 6 charges, Kassadin can use Force Pulse to deal in a cone in front of him for 1 second.
- Magic Damage: 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 / 180 (+ 80% AP)
- Slow: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 %

Riftwalk
Active: Kassadin teleports to a nearby location dealing magic damage to surrounding enemy units. Additionally, each subsequent Riftwalk in the next 15 seconds costs double the amount of mana and deals additional damage. The cost and damage can stack up to 4 times.
- Magic Damage: 80 / 100 / 120 (+ 40% AP) (+ 2% maximum mana)
- Bonus Damage per Stack: 40 / 50 / 60 (+ 10% AP) (+ 1% maximum mana)

Standard Runes

Electrocute is by far the best rune for Kassadin in the Domination tree. At level 1, in combination with Nether Blade or Null Sphere you can easily trigger Electrocute to deal alot of damage to your enemy.

Taste of Blood will help you with maintaining health throughout laning, since you do not have Fleet Footwork you need to be careful with your healthbar.

As Kassadin you aim to take over the game and dominate the enemy which makes Eyeball Collection the perfect choice in order to get some extra damage. This should help with extending your lead once you get ahead.

Lastly Ravenous Hunter is the ultimate rune in your kit that will allow you to maintain enough health to Riftwalk around and control the map.

Bone Plating is a really good rune over all because of the fact that you will play against ad champs in the most of the time. With this rune you counter the most champions like Talon, Zed, Fizz and even more.

Overgrowth gives you the missing hp against ad assassins or other oneshot champs. This rune makes you even more stronger by getting more hp.

The double adaptive damage is really nice for early kills, be aware of the fact that Ignite and Electrocute alone can take your enemy to half hp. Abuse Riftwalk as soon as you get it and start farming gold and Mejai's Soulstealer stacks.


Sustain Runes

Basically Fleet Footwork has an will forever be the safest option to play Kassadin since most players think of him as a scaling champion. You want to get to level 16 as fast as possible to start being useful, but in reality you can start scaling at Level 3 and finish scaling at Level 6.


Since the nerf of Presence of Mind it is not really that good anymore and Overheal does not add alot with the less healing from this build. Leaving Trumph as the last viable option. Your heal from kills make you even stronger and you will be able to carry much easier with this rune.


Ever had someone smart in your enemy team that focused you and you lost a game? Look no further Legend: Tenacity is the perfect choice to avoid getting picked out. Your goal as Kassadin is to stay alive and take over the game, not sit at fountain staring at your screen.


To round things up Coup de Grace will allow you to execute enemies easier and get some kills whenever possible. While Last Stand and Cut Down might seem nice in some matchups, they really are not.

Taste of Blood is a really good choice to get some healing from your spells for the laning phase.

Ravenous Hunter is really good as well because of the healing factor and combinated with Fleet Footwork or Taste of Blood you will have some juicy healing.


Once again we opt for double adaptive damage, otherwise we are no threat and we do not want to allow the enemy to take over the game.
FLASH
This is your core summoner spell and should never change, Using Flash + Riftwalk can make the difference between a win or loss, you can close the gap between yourself and the enemy backline and assasinate someone followed by Zhonya's Hourglass. There are alot of potentials with Flash and in addition it is a great spell to avoid dying to an early gank.

TELEPORT
Once your enemies become a bit more thoughtful Ignite wont really make the deal and you will have to find another way to build and extend a lead. Teleport proves really useful here as it will make you play more around objectives, it is perfect in matchups that can bully you out of lane, since you can comeback instantly without missing alot of experience. Furthermore you can influence sidelanes and snowball with your teammates to victory.

IGNITE
Personally I use Ignite whenever I know I can dominate the game. This spell is underestimated, especially early paired with Electrocute it is a great source of damage for an early first blood, it allows you to take over your lane and build an early lead.

Starting Items

Dark Seal
Normally you want to start with a Dark Seal at the beginning, the effect it has on Refillable Potion and the potential bonus AP is great. Paired with Ignite and Electrocute this gives you the chance for an early kill.

Doran's Shield
Doran's Shield is rarely taken, a real bully like Tristana or Lucian makes this item viable. Without it you probably will fall to behind early and you will want to avoid that situation.

Cloth Armor
Cloth Armor should be considered into any matchup that is AD and can get close to you pretty easily. Consider this into a matchup like Irelia or Yone for example. Seeker's Armguard will only be 700G on your first back and you benefit alot from it.


First Back

Tear of the Goddess
Tear of the Goddess is one of the core items on Kassadin it gives your some nice mana stats and its important for the Archangel's Staff.

Dark Seal
Buy Dark Seal when you didnt start with it.

Refillable Potion
Refillable Potion is a really good item to save money.


Core Items

Everfrost
Everfrost is a great choice not only by the stats it provides but also the item active. You can use it to wave-clear faster, gap-close your enemy or build a gap from your enemy. Not only that but using this item active counts as a stack towards Force Pulse.

Sorcerer's Shoes
Sorcerer's Shoes are one of the best shoes on kassadin cause of the magic penetration but cdr boots are also fine. Always build one of them if the enemies arent full ad or lots of ap. You can go ninja tabis or mercs if they have lots of ad/ap damage.

Zhonya's Hourglass
Zhonya's Hourglass is a really good item against ad burst champions and the active always a good combo with your r. You can jump into the enemies and survive with your active from Zhonya's Hourglass. It is also really good against ad matchups because you can rush Seeker's Armguard.

Archangel's Staff
Archangel's Staff makes your scaling even better and gives you lots of mana.


Other Items

Cosmic Drive
Cosmic Drive gives you more hp which is really good against heavy ad damage or burst champions.

Banshee's Veil
Banshee's Veil build this item against burst ap champions or point and click cc to survive longer.

Mejai's Soulstealer
Mejai's Soulstealer always build this if you got some early kills and if you think you are confident enough.

Rabadon's Deathcap
Rabadon's Deathcap is always really good if you have the gold for that.

Morellonomicon
Morellonomicon is really good against healing, its your antiheal item.

Void Staff
Void Staff for heavy tanks or much magic resist.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Ionian Boots of Lucidity are always fine aswell.
