[14.5] Jhin Guide by misterfirstblood

By misterfirstblood
Introduction
Hello guys, I'm MisterFirstBlood from EUW and today I'm gonna show you how to play Jhin.
Pro's and con's
+ A lot of burst damage.
+ A lot of CC with massive range.
+ Very good ult to initiate Teamfights.
+ Able to reach the highest AD Value ingame.
+ Prevent ganks by placing traps.

- No consistent DPS.
- No mobility except movement speed and Galeforce.
- Weak if you dont land your Skillshots.
- Relatively easy to gank.
Spells
Passive: Whisper
Jhin's hand cannon, Whisper, is a precise instrument designed to deal superior damage. It fires at a fixed rate and carries only four shots. Jhin imbues the final bullet with dark magics to critically strike and deal bonus execute damage. Whenever Whisper crits, it inspires Jhin with a burst of Move Speed.

Q: Dancing Grenade
Jhin launches a magical cartridge at an enemy. It can hit up to four targets and gains damage each time it kills.

W: Deadly Flourish
Jhin brandishes his cane, firing a single shot with incredible range. It pierces through minions and monsters, but stops on the first champion hit. If the target was recently struck by Jhin's allies, lotus traps, or damaged by Jhin, they are rooted.

E: Captive Audience
Jhin places an invisible lotus trap that blooms when walked over. It slows nearby enemies before dealing damage with an explosion of serrated petals. Beauty in Death - When Jhin kills an enemy champion, a lotus trap will bloom near their corpse.

R: Curtain Call
Jhin channels, transforming Whisper into a shoulder-mounted mega-cannon. It is able to fire 4 super shots at extreme range that pierce through minions and monsters, but stop on the first champion impacted. Whisper cripples enemies hit, which slows them and deals execute damage. The 4th shot is perfectly crafted, epically powerful, and guaranteed to critically strike.
Items
Galeforce Jhin going melee for the fourth auto attack and killing you out of nowhere is something that happened to all of us yet. Now its your time to turn the table and do it by yourself.
While you could theoretically build Eclipse for a lethality build Galeforce offers too much utlity not to build imo. Galeforce combined with Infinity Edge gives you the IE passive with a 2 item Powerspike in this patch and Rapid Firecannon is pretty much all you need to deal tons of damage consistenly by upping that Crit Rate to 60%. Attack speed gets converted anyway so you benefit from all other Crit Options, but you should make it depend on the one that offers most utility. Bloodthirster is the most generic one to Give survivability as well as damage and The Collector got powercrept a bit by IE changes but may find a comeback in later patches.
After those items you can build whatever you need in your specific gamestate, no matter if its shredding tanks with Lord Dominik's Regards or surviving against CC Mercurial Scimitar or an assasins full combo Guardian Angel.
If needed, you can also go for life steal or heal reduce
Runes
Jhin is one of the exceptions that really benefits from using Fleet Footwork because of his amazing high base attack damage. So in the durability patch he will be one of the only ad carries thats not using Lethal Tempo and probably outsustain his enemies a bit because of that reason.
The movement speed fits pretty well in his kit and with Legend: Bloodline and Presence of Mind you wont have any sustain issues while laning normally.

Coup de Grace increases your damage by alot which is especially worthy for your ultimate ability, that has an execute multiplier.

In Your secondary tree you can choose Biscuit Delivery for even more sustain and Time Warp Tonic for some unexpected instant heals during battle.
Tips
- You can play a very aggressive lane and punish an earlier lvl 2 hard. A lot of people underrate Jhins Flash 4th auto attack + Q damage.
- After your 4th auto attack is done, run away from your enemies to avoid incoming damage. You get additional movement speed and can't deal damage anyway while reloading.
- You can either start Teamfights with your ult or execute enemies who are trying to escape after a fight, but to use it amomg the teamfight isn't worth often because they will just CC you and your ult is interrupted.
- Use your farsight trinket to her Vision to recalling enemies and try to snipe them with W/R.
- When you are trying to escape from a melee, auto attack him or place a trap under him and try to land a W to root him. If there is enough time for a fourth auto attack / crit you will get movement speed and can escape.
- Dont underrate your Ult damage in lane. When you get a little lead it is possible to kill squishys from 100 to zero with only ult + and W.
Summary
Jhin can be very strong against kiteable teams, teams without tanks or lategame teamcomps.
You can punish aggressive/greedy players and shine in Baron/dragon fights with your ult.
Xerath Support and Jhin ADC is such a strong lane try it out!
Thank You!
Thanks for paying attention to my guide. My English is not the best so if you find mistakes feel free to correct me.
