13.5 Miss Fortune Critical Strike & Lethality

By Demonsedge90

Hi, my name is Demonsedge, and I've been enjoying my time on league of legends. I can't say enough about this game.

I'm a bot lane player specializing in Miss Fortune since I know how this champion feels and works. Concerning Miss Fortune's team compositions and itemization, I will provide a more in-depth look at all this information below as you read this guide.

I hope you enjoy this guide and follow my suggestions to understand how Miss Fortune works optimally.

So let's kick things off in style with my guide on Miss Fortune - The Bounty Hunter.

- She has a relatively easy kit to understand and learn.
- Has excellent damage against targets when trading, strong farming potential, and strong at getting objectives such as turrets / dragons or baron nashor .

I always enjoy taking her on the rift when playing league, and I hope you will too.

Ability Rundown

Love Tap

Love Tap for Miss Fortune deals bonus attack damage against champions while being halved when targeting minions . The most efficient way to apply this passive when farming or trading is to hit new targets ( minions /champions/ turrets or neutral objectives) as often as possible to maximize your extra damage. Damaging a target already affected by Love Tap will do less damage to them in extended fights.

The bonus damage will also trigger life steal effects on each target hit.

Double Up
| Range: Equal to Miss Fortune's Attack Range | Effect Radius: 500 | Angle: 160° | Speed: 2000 | Cast Time: Matches Basic Attack Timer | Cost: 43 / 46 / 49 / 52 / 55 Mana | Cooldown: 7 / 6 / 5 / 4 / 3 |

Double Up is Miss Fortune's signature ability outside her ultimate. It allows you to bounce a cannonball from one target to another as a form of poke damage to the enemy, just don't get caught spamming this either, or you will run out of mana quickly. Good for last hits on minions or to bounce off near-dead minions , critically striking a champion for massive damage.

With each bounce, Double Up applies Love Tap, on-attack & on-hit effects at 100% effectiveness (ex: Blade of the Ruined King & Black Cleaver). Infinity Edge's bonus critical damage passive amplifies the bonus damage of a critically striking Double Up bounce.

| Cooldown: 12 | Cost: 45 Mana |

Strut provides Miss Fortune with excellent trading & objective securing potential. Provides movement speed after not receiving damage within the last 5 seconds, then grants additional movement speed (after not taking damage within another 5 seconds).

Strut, when activated, grants Miss Fortune its current rank maximum movement speed plus increased attack speed for 4 seconds.

- If you apply Love Tap to different enemies, you will reduce the cooldown of this skill by 2 seconds.
- When you respawn, you'll instantly acquire the movement speed bonus equal to Struts' current rank, getting you back to lane faster.

Make it Rain
| Range: 1,000 | Effect Radius: 200 | Cast Time: 0.25 | Cooldown: 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 | Cost: 80 Mana |

Make it Rain is your signature poke spell on Miss Fortune that deals magic damage and slows the target(s) hit by 40% for .25 seconds. Excellent when starting fights or disengaging yourself from the enemy. Combined with Dark Harvest, it can make it easier to get soul stacks and helps access the backline enemy carries defended by tanks or their frontline champions you wish to target.

Bullet Time
| Effect Radius: 1,450 | Width: 40 | Angle: 30° | Speed: 2,000 | Cost: 100 Mana | Cooldown: 120 / 110 / 100 |

Bullet Time is your powerhouse ability, dealing massive damage to enemies within a 3-second channel interval. It's a great team fight ultimate and combines well with your or other champion's abilities. Great for closing gaps, forcing the enemy to funnel into your other teammates' skills or creating picks in team fights to snowball, advance yourself and carry the game.

Another thing to note is that each wave can critically strike when paired with Infinity Edge's passive.

In this section, I will share some of the effective combos for Miss Fortune that are simple to understand and that you can apply while playing summoners rift (draft and ranked) games.

Auto - - Auto

- - Auto - - Auto

Tips & Tricks:

Playing As Miss Fortune:
- Double Up can bounce off minions to targets hiding in nearby bushes.
- Avoid getting hit often to keep passive at max stacks with Strut. Getting shields from items/runes & buffs ( Bloodthirster/ Overheal/ mountain dragon soul) can help.
- You can use Make it Rain as a scouting tool to avoid facing-check bushes.
- Position Miss Fortune's Bullet Time in choke points to ensure the enemy takes the most damage from each wave.

Playing Against Miss Fortune:
- Avoid being near minions when farming against her to avoid damage from her second Double Up bounce.
- Miss Fortune ramps up movement speed from Strut if she has yet to take damage.
- Stay mobile to avoid the damage from her Make it Rain- Bullet Time combo, especially when paired with potent initiators.
- Use your crowd control/impairment abilities when Miss Fortune activates Bullet Time, cancelling the channel.
Game Plan as Miss Fortune
Game Plan Information for Miss Fortune:

This section will outline what to focus on/consider at each game stage as Miss Fortune.

- Early game: Your primary focus should be to farm minions , earning as much gold & experience as possible to acquire your core or mythic items while also getting ahead in your matchup.

Setting up a freeze (holding the minions just outside your turret ) or trading with the enemy can ultimately deny them gold & experience.

Another good tip is to ward often, which helps to avoid overextending into being dived on by the enemy jungle.

- Mid-game: By now, you should be gathering with your team and focusing on team fighting & objective securing ( baron nashor , rift herald or dragon ). If there is a chance to grab waves or jungle farm, do so only if you know the enemy's position since getting ambushed while trying to farm can mean certain death for you.

- Late game: If your games reach this stage, you'll want to be with your team at all times since you are vulnerable on your own (unless you have an item advantage on the enemy), Grabbing dragon soul, elder dragon & baron nashor are essential to close out the game if ahead, also make sure to deny your opponent these objectives.

Things to consider:

- Only rotate towards early dragons or other objectives if you know you won't lose too much for the roaming play. Also, gathering enough experience is essential when factoring your impact on your team (buying items and being ahead of your lane opponent).

- If a team fight erupts during your games, always be sure to consider if you will gain anything from it, meaning will you impact the outcome of the battle or objective, or does your team come out on top without you being there?

- When deciding to enter combat with Miss Fortune, you might want not to join instantly but instead wait for good positioning (locating where your enemies are) before using your abilities ( Double Up, Make it Rain & Bullet Time).

Always be mindful of this when playing Miss Fortune.
Summoner Spells
Summoner Spells

Flash: An essential spell for Miss Fortune that you should pick for your games 100% of the time. Since you don't have access to any form of self-peel, Flash assists when caught out or stuck in rough situations allowing you to escape safely, dodging any crucial abilities.

Heal: This is a must-have spell for Miss Fortune since it provides early-game sustain and even some necessary movement speed. An excellent choice for Miss Fortune that can give you that little boost needed to escape skill shots or get you and a teammate out of a jam. The downside is that subsequent Heal spells applied to you (within 35 seconds) will be 50% effective, so avoid taking this spell if your support is getting it, though if you both take it, coordinate them appropriately for the best results.

Exhaust: Excellent for Miss Fortune against champions who could take you down quickly, such as Draven, Katarina, Master Yi or LeBlanc. Also great to use on targets for whom you want to slow down or reduce their incoming damage (includes bonus damage from Sheen-related items & abilities).

Cleanse: Very effective against teams consisting of high crowd control champions, such as Lux, Morgana, Leona, or Ashe, along with protection against future disabling effects by 65% for 3 seconds. However, be aware that it won't protect you from abilities with suppression, airborne effects, or the healing reduction effect from Ignite, so be sure to consider your matchup before taking this spell. Also, you can only trigger this spell after beingimmobilized, not beforehand.

Wards & Trinkets
- Control Wards are stored in your inventory (max 2) and can be placed anywhere on the map (limit 1), revealing and disabling enemy wards within a 900-unit radius. Control Wards function similarly to the Oracle Lens trinket, dealing with stealth & camouflaged based champions ( Twitch, Rengar, Evelynn and Kha'Zix) that approach them. Do your best to acquire one or two if you have spare gold during your back

- Stealth Ward is your main trinket in all games as Miss Fortune, revealing units within a target location while at the same time giving vision on crucial objectives and sight lines. The max allowable Stealth Wards to place is three. Helpful when setting up vision while split pushing or when establishing deep vision in enemy territory or objectives ( baron nashor & dragons ).

- You should only grab Oracle Lens when dealing with stealth champions who plant traps, such as Teemo, Shaco, & Nidalee. It's also good against champions who use stealth abilities to engage/disengage, such as Twitch, Pyke, Wukong or Shaco.

- The last trinket we can acquire is Farsight Alteration (available at level 9). A strong option for Miss Fortune in 99.5% of games when split pushing or getting vision on objectives or target locations from a safe distance, & it prevents you from having to walk up to bushes and spot enemy flanks. Similar to Stealth Wards, you can use them to set up the adequate vision needed, but unlike Stealth Wards, they are visible to the enemy and fragile, meaning they will die the instant they are spotted.
Stats To Consider
- Attack Damage: The best overall stat and most important for Miss Fortune due to her low base damage numbers. Acquiring it in each game helps her increase the damage values of all her damaging abilities and the damage of each Love Tap trigger. With each of her attack damage ability scalings being potent, every extra stat increase will be helpful for her. Always look to build this with each item purchased.

- Attack Speed: The next best stat you can have. Efficient on Miss Fortune for increased auto attacks and the improved cast time of your Double Up ability. While she doesn't scale with this stat compared to most champions, it's still something you should consider when you can.

- Life Steal: The most efficient healing stat to build when playing Miss Fortune. It can be triggered when applied through auto attacks/on-hit item effects and your Love Tap & Double Up abilities.

- Omni Vamp: Another healing option for Miss Fortune, though not as effective as life steal, but still a good stat to consider. Its healing comes from abilities and auto attacks we use in combat. Since we have limited options when itemizing for omni vamp, it's less prevalent on Miss Fortune.

- Health: This stat is essential in the grand scheme, but it's not something you need to focus on when playing as Miss Fortune. As a marksman, it's not a stat we would typically consider since we aren't a tank, but having health can be the difference between dying quickly or living longer.

- Ability Haste: Useful stat in theory on Miss Fortune, but not overly needed in the grand scheme. Best when looking to build around your abilities ( Double Up & Bullet Time) as your primary damage source.

- Armor/Magic Resistance: Getting armor and magic resistance on Miss Fortune is beneficial only if necessary for survival. The stats can be efficient in the right circumstances, but ultimately we prioritize something other than this compared to the other stat options.

- Movement Speed: This stat helps improve kiting and is helpful when escaping fights, dodging skill shots and other abilities. Not as prioritized on Miss Fortune, but efficient compared to the other available options.
Which Boots & Why?
Berserker's Greaves > Attack Speed
Berserker's Greaves are the default selection in most games when playing Miss Fortune. They provide valuable attack speed needed to trade efficiently in each matchup and grant consistent damage against objectives such as turrets / baron nashor or dragons .

Boots of Swiftness > Slow Reduction
This option is excellent on Miss Fortune when dealing with slowing effects applied to you in combat. They can vary from sources such as Ashe's Frost Shot/ Volley/ Serylda's Grudge/ Rylai's Crystal Scepter, or other movement-impairing effects/abilities that would leave you vulnerable and make it hard for you to escape combat.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity > Ability Haste
With the ability haste provided, you'll have more uptime on your abilities and summoner spells when playing as Miss Fortune. Additionally, with the reduced cooldown, you can use Flash, Heal, or Exhaust more often, making more impact plays and performing well in team fights and skirmishes.

Mercury's Treads > Magic Resistance & Tenacity
Consider this option against many crowd control effects that could impair your survivability should you not be able to bring Cleanse. I recommend these Boots for their tenacity & magic resistance should the need arise. Great into teams that are magic damage heavy.

Plated Steelcaps > Basic Attack Damage Reduction
I recommend this combat pair if you are in games with Miss Fortune, where the enemy team or your current matchup is all attack damage based. Very efficient against teams who are also auto-attack reliant.

While Mercury's Treads and Plated Steelcaps aren't selected often on Miss Fortune compared to Berserker's Greaves, Boots of Swiftness & Ionian Boots of Lucidity, that doesn't mean they can't provide valuable resistances during fights or skirmishes. Consider your opponent(s) before making your selection.

Going the "no Boots" build path (using Zeal item replacements) along with your Strut passive to move about the map is viable, but my opinion is that when you are low and trying to escape, it will be a lot harder without Boots then compared to having them. So if you take the "no Boots" route, ensure sound positioning for the best results.
Starter Items
If you have to deal with poke champions or need the extra health/healing to sustain longer in early fights, I suggest starting Doran's Blade. The bonus health can be the difference between surviving difficult matchups or sustaining from jungle ambushing you.
If you have a matchup where you can snowball (all-in your opponent), it's best to go Long Sword. Another reason to consider this start is that you'll gain a faster advantage over your opponent when looking to complete your first item (aka mythic rush).
We will start with the Tear of the Goddess for more mana access during fights and skirmishes. It allows us to apply more damage with our abilities, creating more pressure in team fights, and it's also very nice when looking to transform our Manamune into Muramana.

Each of these starts can be very efficient and depend on whom you are facing and build path you intend to take.

-Critical Strike: Grab this in games where the targets on the enemy team are likely to build plenty of armor options, where you'll need that extra burst to bypass their armor. It can scale nicely into the late game.

-lethality: This route is your best option when multiple targets on the enemy team are unlikely to build enough armor items or don't have naturally high armor ratings, allowing for a big early-game burst.

Critical Strike Build:
Mythic Items
Kraken Slayer is excellent as your mythic option for Miss Fortune. Increases your trading potential and deals true damage every third auto attack against targets struck. It's ideal when fighting against tanks or bruiser champions on the enemy team.
Galeforce can help Miss Fortune compensate for her kit's lack of dashing availability and be very useful when looking to escape or chase down a target. Furthermore, it can combine nicely with The Collector for an extra burst from the mythic active item effect when looking to eliminate champions. Lastly, it provides % movement speed per legendary item from its mythic passive, which helps when roaming and kiting.
Immortal Shieldbow is viable for Miss Fortune when looking for a mix of damage/sustain & durability. It grants additional attack damage and health per legendary in your build, coupled with a lifeline passive (triggering under 30% health), providing you with a shield and bonus attack damage (90-second cooldown). Great when fighting burst or assassin champions who could eliminate you quickly.

Due to Miss Fortune's attack speed scaling being lower than other marksman champions, we tend to build Kraken Slayer by default, but that's only sometimes the best option in every game. So judge accordingly for each fight.

Core Items
The healing from Bloodthirster helps increase your survivability because of the synergy with Overheal, giving you shielding for duelling and team fights, which will help prevent you from losing the mobility gained from your Strut passive. Additionally, since your Double Up and Love Tap trigger healing from this item, you gain increased value from this item compared to other champions, allowing you to stay healthy during trades and skirmishes.
Infinity Edge is your bread-and-butter crit item for Miss Fortune since it scales with Double Up & Bullet Time, dealing massive damage with their bonus critical strike effects. You must obtain a 40% critical chance rating to trigger its passive effect. Nevertheless, this item is a fantastic selection when playing crit on Miss Fortune.
Excellent for securing kills on targets for whom you want to finish off. Executes any target you damage below 5% of their max health, netting easier cleanup during fights and skirmishes, acquiring extra gold needed to reach your item power spikes sooner. You should build this item on Miss Fortune, as it helps her duel much easier.

Situational Items
Essence Reaver on Miss Fortune is a great item to solve mana regeneration issues you might have in fights. As an alternative to Manaflow Band, it restores 40% of the damage dealt to champions as mana. Since you can trigger this effect with Miss Fortune's Double Up, it will shine when playing an on-hit build for more damage & pressure.
Mortal Reminder is a solid % armor penetration item and an efficient grievous wounds option for Miss Fortune. This item is best selected when fighting against champions, such as Samira, Kayn ( The Darkin Scythe: Rhaast), Sona, Nami, and Dr. Mundo, who have healing items or effects within their kits. Additionally, this item is a great option when paired with any of the listed crit mythic options ( Kraken Slayer, Galeforce & Immortal Shieldbow.
If you feel like having a bit of spice in combat, run Navori Quickblades. Compared to Infinity Edge, which is more auto-attack-centric, Navori Quickblades grants Miss Fortune a cooldown reduction on all your non-ultimate abilities and additional damage based on your critical strike chance. Great for a more ability-centric play style, contributing more pressure in team fights.
Phantom Dancer works nicely on Miss Fortune when paired with the Kraken Slayer. The on-attack ghosting effect is excellent when looking kite an enemy champion you are looking to eliminate. Grab this when playing with on-hit item effects.
It gives Miss Fortune access to more auto attack/ Double Up range and 120 bonus on-hit magic damage during fights and skirmishes. This item interacts with Miss Fortune's Double Up as follows: if you auto-attack the target fast enough during your Double Up animation, you'll apply extra single target damage.
Wit's End is helpful in duels and good against champions such as Kayle or Akali, where you need some light durability and trading power and scales nicely with Miss Fortune's on-hit play style.

Lethality Build:
Mythic Items
Going with Duskblade of Draktharr is best against squishier team compositions or champions who only build a little armor. This mythic is an excellent choice for dealing extra auto-attack damage to enemy champions and grants invisibility that activates upon killing a target you previously damaged within the last few seconds. The empowered auto attack offers a slow effect, but we can't apply it as Miss Fortune.
Eclipse is best picked on Miss Fortune when duelling tank/bruiser champion team comps & against targets who stack armor when playing lethality. Additionally, the ability haste offered with this mythic can aid you in getting more casts of your abilities in team fights & skirmishes.

Each mythic item offers base movement speed increases per legendary, in addition to each of their unique passives effects, affording you more opportunities to chase down targets and additional escape potential in certain situations.

After examining each mythic item above, you need to decide which offers the best impact in-game, compared to which mythic best suits Miss Fortune in most of her matchups.

Core Items
It provides % armor reduction on physical damage, amplifying your ultimate even more (since each wave of Bullet Time can stack the passive relatively fast). It's also a great buy when looking to deal more damage to heavily armored targets, plus the health gained from this item can make you survive a little longer in fights.
Very efficient when needing some out-of-combat movement speed and the ability to walk through minions should you get caught in a sticky situation or don't have your Flash and need to make a quick getaway. Also helpful in situations where you are trying to chase down a low health target you want to finish off.

Situational Items
Paired with Ultimate Hunter, Axiom Arc will reduce Bullet Time by a % of its max cooldown each time you secure a takedown within 3 seconds of damaging a target. Consider this item when relying on Bullet Time as your primary damage source or if you plan on taking Duskblade of Draktharr as your mythic option.
Taking Chempunk Chainsword as your grievous wounds item is essential when facing champions such as Kayn ( The Darkin Scythe: Rhaast), Samira, Nami, Soraka, or Sona that have healing abilities or healing items.
Select Edge of Night when looking to dodge crowd control as Miss Fortune. Its spell shield ignores the first ability you get hit by (which can be life-saving). It can also make or break a team fight if used correctly. Try to avoid combat to refresh the cooldown of the item.
Serpent's Fang is great into shielding-based champions ( Sett, Karma, Janna & Lulu) or champions such as Samira, Yasuo, Yone and Nilah, who pick up shield-based items such as Immortal Shieldbow & Sterak's Gage.
A strong % armor penetration option for Miss Fortune, great when looking to slow down the enemy. Compared to its counterpart Lord Dominik's Regards, you will get this item to deal with targets who don't build lots of health. Considering its low cooldown, Double Up will apply this slow effectively, allowing for easy chase down. Additionally, it helps amplify the damage you deal with your signature Make it Rain + Bullet Time combo.
Great against teams with champions such as Teemo, Nidalee, or Shaco, who love to place traps in choke points, bushes, or neutral objectives. Helpful with vision denial around objective markers and lane bushes that may contain any wards.

Situational Items ForLethality and Crit
Excellent choice for Miss Fortune when dealing with champions who build health items, dealing 9% of their current health along with stealing movement speed every third hit, making this a great option when shredding tanks and certain squishy champions. Take this when you consider an on-hit build.
Guardian Angel offers a necessary revive to live longer and carry the game. Consider this item when fed and need the added resurrection for future fights. However, be careful since dying in a large crowd means you could die again after the passive effect triggers.
Lord Dominik's Regards is an excellent % armor penetration item for Miss Fortune when dealing with colossal health champions ( Sett, Cho'Gath, Dr. Mundo or Sion) or heavily armored targets. The extra damage bonus is calculated based on the difference in max health between you and your target.
It provides a magic shield and bonus physical damage alongside life steal until the end of combat. Great into champions who deal dot damage ( Brand, Morgana & Teemo) or have strong magic damage output that could instantly kill you.
*Note that this item and Immortal Shieldbow cannot be combined since they share the same unique passive (lifeline).
Great when dealing with crowd control (except airborne) based champion abilities ( Mordekaiser's Realm of Death, Warwick's Infinite Duress, Skarner's Impale or Malzahar's Nether Grasp) that would impair your movement or be hard to dodge. The active effect grants magic resistance, movement speed & ghosting needed for 1.5 seconds to escape fights or dangerous situations easily. However, its long active cooldown makes careful ability blocking paramount.
Muramana provides mana sustain for Miss Fortune to spam your skills, keep pressure on the enemy & pairs nicely with Manaflow Band. Once upgraded from Manamune, you'll gain extra basic attack on-hit and bonus ability damage. Very effective when building on-hit items or dealing more single-target burst damage in fights.
The only time you will ever consider building Zhonya's Hourglass on Miss Fortune is when faced with many threats ( Zed, Lillia, Veigar, Pyke) that could dispose of you in combat quickly if immobilized. The stasis effect can be very efficient in dodging damage over time, ultimates or other impairing abilities that could make it impossible to escape. Do note when and where you activate this item since you could die right after the stasis effect ends if you are near enemies.

The following keystone & rune choices are great for Miss Fortune and will complement her in combat. Always pay attention to the enemy team comp, plus your item builds when selecting your runes to get the most value in each game.

Keystone Runes:

- Dark Harvest provides indefinite stacking of souls throughout the game. Gain souls by damaging a target under 50% health, with the ability to reacquire another after you score a takedown. Since there is no limit to the number of souls you can get per game, the potential to one-shot opponents becomes more remarkable when you reach the late game—a solid option when playing lethality on Miss Fortune.

- Press the Attack is the most efficient keystone for Miss Fortune since it works well into most matchups and triggers after auto-attacking three times or performing an auto- Double Up-auto combo. After applying this passive effect, the target will take more damage for the next six seconds.

- Lethal Tempo is excellent when you want to force more aggressive trades. Upon reaching and maintaining the six stack bonus from this keystone, gain increased attack speed & extra attack range, which helps to increase the cast range of Miss Fortune's Double Up. This keystone is powerful in a crit build but can be a viable option in a lethality setup.

- Conqueror grants extra damage for Miss Fortune (per auto or ability used) in combat, gaining an extra boost during trades and duels with the enemy. So while we may not trigger the keystone's healing effect, it's still a viable option to consider.

- Arcane Comet is a strong keystone choice for Miss Fortune when looking to poke down the enemy at a distance. Very good into poke champions such as ( Ezreal, Lux, Zyra & Xerath), and also effective when dealing with other pesky matchups.

Domination Runes:

- Selecting Cheap Shot for Miss Fortune is excellent in fights, dealing additional true damage on a target recently affected by crowd control effects (not including suppression or airborne). While the true damage values aren't stellar, you can still make the most of the rune. Take this rune with champions such as Leona, Morgana, Lux, Nautilus & Amumu.

- Taste of Blood offers Miss Fortune healing when damaging an enemy in combat. (The heal doesn't trigger while at 100% health). An excellent scaling rune option for Miss Fortune for added sustain when trading with the enemy.

- Pick up Zombie Ward for more vision on the map. This rune is at its best when combined with Umbral Glaive, creating Zombie Wards with each destroyed enemy ward. These wards will help by giving you more access to enemy movement and additional objective control.

- When looking for more potency in fights, consider Eyeball Collection. This rune grants more damage with autos and abilities, giving you more threat in team fights and skirmishes. It's an excellent rune choice for any matchup when you run the Domination tree.

- Treasure Hunter on Miss Fortune is an excellent way to gain extra gold per unique takedown and accelerates your build to acquire your core and mythic items faster. Taking this rune is best when going into matchups where you can effectively snowball.

- Relentless Hunter is a great mobility rune option as Miss Fortune. Excellent choice for getting back to lane faster (combined with Strut) and effective when trying to engage/chase down the enemy. Great for roaming the rift and transitioning to neutral or camp objectives.

- Ultimate Hunter grants Miss Fortune ability haste towards Bullet Time's cooldown, giving you more chances to dominate in team fights. Very strong when combined with mythic items or runes that offer additional ability haste.

Inspiration Runes:

- Magical Footwear allows Miss Fortune to delay buying Boots to focus on getting your mythic and core items sooner. After obtaining them, gain extra movement speed in your current pair of Boots purchased.

- Future's Market is reliable for ramping into your mythic/core items, thus offering better duelling potential. Very helpful in matchups where you want item advantages against your opponent to snowball much easier.

- Biscuit Delivery is helpful when you need additional sustain after trades and skirmishes while giving you more maximum mana per biscuit (max 3)—a staple Inspiration rune taken by Miss Fortune in most of her tough matchups.

- Cosmic Insight provides more access to summoner spells ( Flash, Heal) and item/ward trinket usage in combat. This rune is excellent when paired with items like Essence Reaver or other active items effects. Also very helpful for increasing your vision score.

Precision Runes:

- With Overheal, you'll gain a shield for Miss Fortune from the excess healing you receive from items or spells. The shielding will help prevent your Strut passive from being removed and grant additional durability in fights.

- While it's not Miss Fortune's most popular rune choice when comparing it to Overheal and Presence of Mind, this rune can still provide sustain and extra gold after securing takedowns during fights and skirmishes.

- Presence of Mind helps Miss Fortune by increasing mana regeneration as you hit enemies with auto attacks or abilities, ensuring a healthy mana pool before team fighting with the enemy.

- With Legend: Alacrity on Miss Fortune, you'll have more trading power, thus increasing the damage you deal in fights and have better success farming minions or taking objectives faster.

- The life steal from Legend: Bloodline is low early on but builds up nicely into the late game. Helpful for Miss Fortune against poke-heavy opponents and very effective when duelling in fights and skirmishes.

- An excellent rune option for Miss Fortune improving our damage against low health targets, making it easier to eliminate them in combat. A strong rune choice in both lethality or crit builds for team fights & duels.

- Good against tanks/bruisers ( Leona, Sett, Sion) & some bot lane champions ( Draven, Jhin, Kai'Sa. When choosing Cut Down, be mindful of your starter item ( Doran's Blade or Long Sword) and other health-based items or runes, as it will affect your damage output.

Resolve Runes:

- Conditioning helps Miss Fortune by providing some added durability in combat. Excellent into assassins ( Akali, Kha'Zix, Rengar, Master Yi) or other champions that make it hard for you to survive during fights and duels.

- Overgrowth is the safest option for Miss Fortune when selecting Resolve as our secondary offering max health per monster / minion death, then gaining a % max health bonus once 120 minions are absorbed. Health for any champion is fantastic, but Miss Fortune has better choices. Though in short, it does provide a layer of durability to consider.

- Picking up Revitalize as Miss Fortune is a strong choice for its synergy with shields, life steal, and omni vamp from sources such as Overheal, Doran's Blade, Bloodthirster & Immortal Shieldbow, increasing their healing & shielding effects while in combat.

Sorcery Runes:

- Excellent choice for Miss Fortune when you need extra mana (combines nicely with Manamune/ Muramana) plus increased mana regeneration. It has immense value for Miss Fortune and can be a staple pick in any matchup.

- Transcendence provides Miss Fortune more ability haste during fights, thus increasing your damage per second to enemies and objectives. Excellent into poke matchups ( Lux/ Ezreal or Sivir/ Zyra) in which you can attack from a safe distance with your abilities.

- Absolute Focus increases Miss Fortune's all-around pressure in fights and duels, so long as you have sustained healing from Bloodthirster, Blade of the Ruined King or other healing sources to maintain the required threshold for the bonus damage—scales nicely with Love Tap providing more burst with each auto attack and Double Up bounce.

- Gathering Storm effectively increases our overall damage (autos and abilities) against targets every 10 minutes and scales indefinitely. Coupled with Dark Harvest, it gives us more burst against targets.
Rune Shards

When deciding on what rune shards (whether offensive or defensive) to choose from for Miss Fortune in each of your games, you have to factor in a few things beforehand:

Offensive Shards
- Do I need extra attack speed? The extra attack speed can help with better trading/duelling.
- Do I need additional attack damage? We always take at least one adaptive damage shard for Miss Fortune, maybe two if needed.
- Do I require any ability haste? We don't take this option, so it's best to skip it.

Defensive Shards
- Do I require more armor? Your default choice for most games with Miss Fortune.
- Do I require magic resistance? Better picked when dealing with a double-mage matchup or teams with heavy magic damage.
- Do I require more health? We skip this option as Miss Fortune, but still viable against mixed damage team comps.

Always pay attention to the team compositions you are fighting when mixing and matching the rune shards listed above with your Boots & items. It's a sure way to improve your overall survivability in games.

There are many ways to build Miss Fortune, but hopefully, this guide made it easier for you to understand what abilities/items and runes work well together and how to make the most of her kit.
