+High Damage Early
+Great Sustain
+Tons of Utility
+Infinite Scaling
+ADC Simulator
+Flexible Build Options

Senna trades exceptionally well in lane thanks to her Auto Attack into Piercing Darkness combo, which both damages and heals at the same time, while also slowing the opponent. Mastering her aggressive playstyle and maintaining good positioning will be the key to getting the most out of the lane.

Collecting souls from Absolution will gradually make you stronger, one by one. You can play her either as an ADC without farming or as an Enchanter—almost any build can work on this champion.
CONS

-Vulnerable to Engages
-Requires Great Positoning
-Lacks CC
-Squishy
-One Mistake Can Be Costly
-Skill Dependent Champ

She is very vulnerable, so be careful with every step you take and always be aware of how easily you can get punished! Senna is extremely squishy, and anything with strong engage potential requires your full focus.
Since she doesn’t have much crowd control, your Last Embrace is the key tool for disengaging—combine it with quick reactions and Curse of the Black Mist to escape safely.

She’s a 100% pure skill champion, unless you choose to play her as an Enchanter.

Flash and Healh

Flash is your core summoner spell for survival — without it, you’ll simply die too often. It’s both defensive and offensive, allowing you to make unexpected picks with a Last Embrace Flash combo.

Don’t question it — always take it.

Heal is a great choice for the bot lane, where everything revolves around trading. Since there are two players in the lane, both can benefit from this summoner spell.

Your ADC should take Barrier because it has a shorter cooldown, while you take Heal to provide value for both of you when used. The bonus movement speed can also help you dodge hooks or escape dangerous situations.

Don’t forget — Revitalize further increases its effectiveness!

Exhaust

Take Exhaust to counter and neutralize champions that can easily engage on you or your ADC and burst you down! The moment they dive in, use it on the enemy carry — it reduces their damage by 40% and slows their movement speed by 35%.

Examples: Tristana, Draven + Leona, or generally when the enemy team has multiple assassins like Zed mid or Diana jungle.

While Heal offers great trading and combat potential, Exhaust can completely shut down a single target’s burst — sometimes saving the entire fight.
Summon Aery - provides great shield value in the later stages of the game. Your heals will trigger Aery on your teammates, and even Curse of the Black Mist now grants a shield as well.
We don’t take Summon Aery for damage - although it still deals decent poke if you can consistently harass your opponents. Remember, Aery is a little fox spirit that flies out to strike enemies or shield allies. Keep an eye on the ground - you can see Aery returning to you, and picking her up faster allows you to use her again sooner!
Axiom Arcanist - Your Ultimate now deals 8% increased damage and shielding! On kill or assist, its cooldown is reduced by 7%, making your global ultimate even more powerful and available more often.
Celerity - Senna is all about mobility and positioning. Extra movement speed allows you to play more aggressively, dodge engages, and reposition quickly - that’s the main reason we take this rune
Gathering Storm - This rune helps you scale into the late game. Every 10 minutes, you gain extra Adaptive Force, making you stronger the longer the game goes. More AP also means bigger heals, increasing your support and sustain potential as the game progresses.
Bone Plating - Excellent anti-burst rune for trading! The next 3 attacks or spells against you will deal reduced damage, allowing you to tank more hits and win short trades. When you trade while Bone Plating is active, you’ll take less damage and come out ahead almost every time.
Revitalize - Increases all your healing and shielding power. This means your items, summoner spells, and abilities will all heal and shield for more, giving you and your ADC even greater sustain during fights.

Fleet Footwork - Hit enemies to gain bonus movement speed and healing, improving both your mobility and sustain in lane. You gain extra healing if your next attack hits an opponent while Fleet Footwork is ready. It also works with Piercing Darkness, making it even more valuable for trading and staying healthy.
Presence of Mind - Provides mana regeneration, allowing you to trade more effectively. After a takedown, you instantly restore mana, keeping your pressure up throughout fights.
Legend: Alacrity - More attack speed means more damage and faster soul stacking. Each auto attack also reduces your Piercing Darkness cooldown by 1 second, letting you charge your heals and damage more quickly!
Cut Down - Increases your damage against enemies with more max health than you (above 60%). Great for early pressure and shredding through tankier targets later in the game.
Celerity - Senna is all about mobility and positioning. Extra movement speed allows you to play more aggressively, dodge engages, and reposition quickly - that’s the main reason we take this rune.
Gathering Storm - This rune helps you scale into the late game. Every 10 minutes, you gain extra Adaptive Force, making you stronger the longer the game goes. More AP also means bigger heals, increasing your support and sustain potential as the game progresses.

Take Second Wind vs heavy poke lanes like Caitlyn + Xerath. Scorch if you want to play more aggressive with the Enchanter Build early. Conditioning when lane is pretty safe and Bone Plating is not needed at all.

For AD: Senna 1x Attack Speed 1x Adaptive Force and 1x Flat Health

Enchanter: 1x Ability Haste 1x Adaptive Force 1x Flat Health

AD Senna Needs Damage that's why Attack Speed and Healing one needs Ability Haste for faster cooldowns. 1x Flat Health because there is always a lot of fight on bottom lane.

Dream Maker

Dream Maker after healing or shielding an ally, you gain damage reduction; after damaging an enemy, your next ally heal or shield is empowered. Great for balancing defense and offense in fights.

Solstice Sleigh

Solstice Sleigh when you heal or shield an ally, it gives both of you bonus movement speed and resistances. Perfect for saving teammates and repositioning quickly during engages.

Celestial Opposition

Celestial Opposition Grants strong anti-burst protection. When you’re Blessed, you take 25% reduced damage from enemy champions (for ranged users like Senna). When the effect ends, it releases a shockwave that slows nearby enemies by 50% for 1.5 seconds. Perfect for surviving engages, kiting safely, and turning fights when enemies dive you.

Bloodsong

Bloodsong A powerful aggressive support item for Senna. After using an ability, your next basic attack within 10 seconds deals bonus physical damage and marks the enemy, making them take 5% increased damage from all sources for 4 seconds.

Enchanter Senna's Item Choices Explained

Echoes of Helia

Echoes of Helia Perfect for Senna’s playstyle. Your heals and damage charge the item, releasing an explosion of healing and damage around your target. Great for poke + sustain builds.

Moonstone Renewer

Moonstone Renewer Ideal for extended fights. Each time you heal or shield, it empowers your next one, giving your team constant sustain during skirmishes.

Redemption

Redemption Provides teamwide healing and extra utility. Activate it to heal allies in a large area — perfect for saving fights from a distance.

Locket of the Iron Solari

Locket of the Iron Solari Strong defensive support item that provides a teamwide shield when activated. Great for protecting allies during burst or AoE engages. Perfect for teamfight-focused or Enchanter Senna builds that want to keep everyone alive longer.Synergizes perfectly with Revitalize.

Dawncore

Dawncore amplifies your healing and shielding power, letting you support harder. Synergizes perfectly with Revitalize.

AD Senna's Item Choices Explained

Black Clevaer

Black Cleaver Great for shredding armor and boosting damage over time. Each attack or ability reduces the enemy’s armor, helping both you and your team deal more physical damage. Also grants health and ability haste, improving Senna’s survivability and cooldown uptime.

Rapid Firecannon

Rapid Firecannon increases your attack range and gives bonus damage on your next empowered shot. Perfect for poking safely or pick setups from a distance. Must Have when opponents have too much Engage

Edge of Night

Edge of Night Provides lethality, health, and a spell shield that blocks the next enemy ability. Excellent versus engage supports or burst champions trying to catch you off guard.

Infinity Edge

Infinity Edge massive damage power spike for crit-focused Senna builds. Increases your critical strike damage and gives a huge boost to your auto-attack poke and ability scaling. Perfect when you already have 60%+ crit chance, turning every shot into a lethal burst of damage.

Serpent’s Fang

Perfect against shield-heavy compositions. Your attacks and abilities reduce the effectiveness of enemy shields, making it easier to punish tanky or protected targets. Great for teamfights where enemies rely on shields to survive your damage.

Phantom Dancer

Phantom Dancer Boosts your attack speed, movement speed, and gives extra mobility in fights. After a few attacks, you gain bonus movement speed and can kite enemies more easily. Great for aggressive builds, helping Senna reposition quickly while dealing consistent damage.

Chempunk Chainsword

Provides attack damage, health, and ability haste, while applying Grievous Wounds to enemies you damage. Perfect against teams with heavy healing — like champions running Soraka, Aatrox, or Dr. Mundo. Helps Senna cut enemy sustain while still boosting her poke and utility.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Core choice for Enchanter Senna. Grants ability haste and summoner spell haste, letting you heal, shield, and cast abilities more often while also having Flash and Heal up sooner. Cheap and extremely cost-efficient, making it the best early boot upgrade for utility-focused builds.

Boots of Swiftness

Excellent for kiting and dodging skillshots. They provide high flat movement speed and reduce slows, helping Senna stay mobile and maintain distance during fights. Perfect when you’re against heavy engage or slowing champions like Ashe, Nautilus, or Nasus.

Plated Steelcaps

Plated Steelcaps great defensive option against heavy AD or auto-attack champions. Reduces incoming basic attack damage and gives bonus armor, helping Senna survive dives and burst from champions like Zed, Rengar, or Draven + Pyke. A solid choice when you need extra durability in lane or teamfights.

Absolution

Absolution Senna’s passive ability. Enemies and minions that die near Senna have a chance to drop Mist Wraiths (souls). Collecting them grants bonus Attack Damage, Attack Range, and Critical Strike Chance over time. Senna also has a lower attack speed and slower basic attack animation, but her attacks deal bonus damage and scale with souls, making her stronger the longer the game goes. Upon hitting the opponent once the next Auto-Attack will collect the Soul out of them and dealing extra damage!

Piercing Darkness

Piercing Darkness is the most important ability to master if you want to play Senna well. When used on enemies, it deals damage, applies on-hit effects, and slows them. When used on allies, it heals instead. The more souls you collect, the longer its range becomes. It synergizes perfectly with items like Bloodsong, Rapid Firecannon, and Black Cleaver.

Two Most Important Tricks:

1. Minion Poke Trick
You can cast Piercing Darkness through minions — the beam travels through them and hits anything behind. This lets you harass opponents safely while staying outside their range. Perfect for laning pressure and stacking souls without risking trades.

2. Ward Cast Trick
You can also cast Piercing Darkness on a Stealth Ward to extend its reach and slow enemies who would otherwise be out of range. This trick can secure kills, set up picks, or apply pressure from unexpected angles.

Extra Tip:
Your Fleet Footwork and other on-hit effects proc when using this ability, giving you extra healing and movement speed in trades. Spend time in the Practice Tool to learn your Q angles and range limits — mastering this ability separates good Sennas from great ones.

Last Embrace

Last Embrace is Senna’s only crowd control ability, so use it wisely — it can be both an engage or disengage tool depending on the situation. Sometimes, it’s best to hold onto it in lane, especially against heavy engage enemies, so you can peel or counter-engage instead of wasting it early.

Two Most Important Tricks:

1. Last Embrace Flash Combo
Pre-cast Last Embrace, then Flash instantly. This makes it much harder for enemies to react, since the projectile is already mid-flight when you reposition. Perfect for picking off targets or setting up quick engages.

2. Minion Execute Trick
If Last Embrace kills a minion, it will instantly root nearby enemies. You can use this for surprise plays or outplays when a low-HP minion is close to your target. It’s one of Senna’s most underrated mechanics and can turn trades or fights in your favor.

Curse of the Black Mist

Curse of the Black Mist is Senna’s camouflage ability that allows her and nearby allies to vanish into the mist, gaining bonus movement speed and becoming hidden from enemies.

While the ability is active, enemies cannot point-and-click on anyone inside the mist — meaning you can dodge targeted abilities, auto-attacks, or even cancel engage attempts if timed correctly.

Use Curse of the Black Mist to either engage by surprising opponents or to disengage and reposition safely during chaotic fights. Think carefully before casting — this ability can turn the fight or save your entire team when used at the right moment.

Dawning Shadow

Dawning Shadow is Senna’s global ultimate ability — a massive, map-wide beam of light that damages enemies in the center and shields allies caught in the light.

Requires from you a ton of Map Awarness because you can finish some people, turn the fights and save your teammates because it also does give a shield away from doing damage!

The ability scales with both Attack Damage and Ability Power, making it useful in every build, whether you’re playing Enchanter Senna or ADC Senna.

Dawning Shadow can also pick up the souls! But Don't do it :D!

Here, I'll explain fundamental combos for the game

A.) A basic early game combo is Auto Attack (AA) → Piercing Darkness. It’s mostly used in the early game whenever possible.

B.) Piercing Darkness → ON MINION → INTO THE ENEMY (BASE POKE IF CAN'T WALK UP)

C.) Piercing Darkness → AA → Last Embrace Basic "Engage"

To get good results you need to master Piercing Darkness usage on opponents, wards and minions along with landing good Last Embrace rather for engage and disengage. - Ton of Practice Tool.

TBC

Hey! As promised, to keep it simple here, I will create the Cheat Sheet on how to Ward Effectively without overthinking it too much!

First of all, warding always depends on your lane and map priority.
If you’re losing lane, focus on placing defensive wards to protect yourself and your ADC.
If you’re winning lane, that’s when you can go for offensive deep wards to keep pressure and track the enemy jungler.

Laning Early

Firstly, we need to figure out where the enemy junglers start thanks if you know that you will be able to adjust your Warding Placement Time. Jungler should be ready at the river around 3:20 - The More Aggro you are playing, the Higher chance he can skip some camps and gank you - so then you ward early. The more Pressure the sooner u ward.

U Can Ask your Midlaner to Ward Enemy Raptors at 1:17 - Since this will completly clarify to us what side he is pathing toward and to adjust the playstyle and vision depending on that.

Even Warding Placement:

Supports Usually Fight for the Bush Vision and Safety there so if the lane is still early u can look to ward one of the bushes to neutralize the opposite Support Pressure there as long as he tries to be annoying around them. The Other Ward is Simple standard ward on the River when the pressure is not decided yet.
High-Priority Warding:

The More Pressure, the Deeper you should ward to have more time to react for a gank! Usually, the Tribush ward will do the wonders - Next to the Tribush Scryer's Bloom Spawns so you can destroy it towards enemy camps for more info at Third Minute. If it comes to the ward on the lane same rule - u want to contest high prio bush but enemy Support is there? - Ward it.

Low-Priority Warding:

Same Rule, ward your tribush if low priority so you can expect faster the potential flank / dive angle from the Jungler. Ward Behind the Turret in the bush if you can't walk to tribush for potential Anty-Dive Ward. First Lane Bush just to see enemy Support.
Warding Mid Game and Late Explained The Best Way on Earth

Warding in Late and Mid Game is on similar rules like in the Early - The More Priority the deeper you ward and the same when losing - u ward more defensive.

Sometimes we are the Predator and sometimes we are the Prey :)

Check what Objective is Up on the Scoreboard - Dragon spawing in one minute? Let's Prepare the Vision there depending on your priority but don't ward opposite site where there won't be play going on!

Use your Mini-Map and Scoreboard to Navigate what are we actually playing for! Sometimes when there is no objective adjust that vision to your Team Win-Condiiton (The Best player who needs extra vision etc.)

Developing Natural Habits — Your Long-Term Goal

Our goal here is to make these habits feel natural and automatic over time — and I’ll be your temporary guide to help you get there, okay?
Let’s break it down point by point so you can absorb it step by step.

1. Early Lane Setup

When the game starts, head straight to lane and hit the first minions to establish wave pressure.
If the enemy support tries to enter a bush, ward it immediately so you can contest them with an Piercing Darkness → Auto Attack combo.
However, if the enemy support is a hook champion (like Blitzcrank or Nautilus), don’t overforce it — let them push and play safe until it’s safer to trade.

2. Smart Poking & Position Awareness

Try to poke the enemy ADC right as they go for a last-hit, but be mindful not to walk into a 1v2 situation.
Always pay attention to both your position and the enemy’s positioning.
Bot lane is normally 2v2, but you can turn it into a 1v1 if the enemy support drifts too far from their ADC — punish those gaps!

3. Bush Control & Pressure

If the enemy support isn’t looking to engage, take control of the lane bushes.
Use your Piercing Darkness to trade and sustain, and look for opportunities to land Last Embrace when they misstep.
Constantly reposition yourself and watch for enemy movement mistakes — Senna thrives on good positioning.

4. Safe Poking Technique

If it’s too dangerous to walk up, use your Piercing Darkness through minions to extend its range and poke safely.
This is one of Senna’s signature mechanics, and mastering it will let you pressure even aggressive lanes.

5. Wave Management Awareness

Remember: The bigger your wave, the safer you are.
A large minion wave provides extra damage, protection, and can even block hooks or skillshots.
When the wave is small, be more cautious — trading becomes much riskier.

6. Wave Crash Timing

Try to crash the 3rd wave (the cannon wave) with your ADC — this gives you time to ward safely and reset vision before the enemy jungler arrives.

If you can push and crash early, you can also sneak river vision or help your jungler with Scuttle control.

7. Souls Management

Your passive, Absolution, is your power scaling — every soul makes you stronger.
Try to collect souls safely, but never risk your HP or position for one.
Souls increase your range, crit, and damage, so even a small soul lead can change the lane balance.

8. Play Around Your ADC’s Power Spikes

Don’t force trades when your ADC is weak early (like Vayne or Kog’Maw).

But if your ADC has early lane strength (like Caitlyn or Draven), use your poke to extend their advantage.

You’re there to enable and protect, not to solo carry the lane — at least early on.

If I were to build a great Senna player from scratch, the first lesson would be:

✅ Always focus on your positioning.
✅ Apply pressure when enemies misstep.
✅ Master your Piercing Darkness.

And finally — don’t forget about junglers!
Ganks can happen as early as 3:20, sometimes even sooner if you’re pushing aggressively.
Keep that in mind and adjust your warding accordingly.

This is where Senna becomes a monster — your range is insane, your autos hit like a truck, and your healing keeps your team alive forever.
Now your main goals are surviving, peeling, and punishing any mistake the enemy makes.

Navigate by checking your priority line of Territory to ensure proper ward placement. Press Scoreboard and check what are we playing for and what's the Goal Map. Thanks to it you can make rational decisions and even shot-call while preparing good vision.

Enchanter Senna will focus on providing as much utility and heals to make the most impact, while the AD Senna will hyper focus on the position to maximize her Kiting and Damage potential.

1. Positioning is Everything

Never stand in front — you’re the last line, not the first.

Use terrain, fog, and spacing to kite safely.

If enemies have assassins or dive champs, stay near your frontline or ADC and use Last Embrace + Curse of the Black Mist to peel. But Make sure you don't get the same Combo on your face like they do! Keep small GAP!

2. Teamfight Execution

Auto → Q → Auto on repeat — you’ll deal DPS and heal at the same time.

Your Dawning Shadow can change teamfights across the map; save it for critical moments to shield multiple allies or finish off low enemies. Or simply for Team-Fights.

Don’t waste it on single targets unless it saves someone important or secures a kill.

3. Soul Power Spike

Around 100+ souls, Senna’s range becomes absurd — you can auto-attack from halfway across a fight.

Abuse this advantage to poke, zone, and control space.

At this stage, positioning and patience win games — one mistake can cost everything.

4. Objective Setup and Vision

Always ward Baron or Dragon setups early and maintain control wards for the most Important Objectives.

Don’t face-check bushes — let your jungler or tank lead.

Your poke/heal and vision are how your team sets up safely and forces fights on your terms.

Thank you for taking the time to read my guide. I firmly believe that with dedication and the insights from this guide, you can achieve your goals. Believe in yourself, persevere, and continually strive for improvement. Remember, becoming a better player is a marathon, not a sprint. It requires time, practice, and patience.
