Why would you play Wukong ?

Why would you play Wukong
So the first question is why would you want to play Wukong ? I got the answer for that! Playing Wukong means playing a champion that has huge winconditions in teamfights, you can change the whole teamfight, even if you are behind. The key is your Gamechanging skillkit > your R > your oneshot comb > killing carries is your main prioratiy. You always aim squishy targets.Hint: Keep in Mind Wukong is an high dps assasin/bruiser not a tank! You will be mid game or late game tanky but it depens on your item pathing and your priority ingame, it always change so be flexible!

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ One of the Strongest AD scalings
+ Gamechanging Teamfights
+ Can one shot squishy targets
+ Midgame beast
+ Huge snowball with 1 kill
+ Your Cyclone goes through even when you are cc'd
+ Your Crushing Blow has synergy with all on hit items
+ its a freaking ape

Wukong is an ad assasin/bruiser that is able to one shot all squishy targets if you play him currectly. He can sneak with his Warrior Trickster even make huge outplays with it. He has a good gapcloser with Nimbus Strike and togehter with his gamechanging Cyclone he is able to change the hole teamfight for his advantage. He is a Midlane beast and can nearly kill all of his squishy opponent midlane. He got one of the strongest AD scalings thats why you should play him as ad assasin, but if the situation change and your team needs a tank you also can build him offtank, because Stone Skin gives you free tankyness.
Cons

- Poor early top Laningphase
- got only his Cyclone as cc
- Nimbus Strike can be canceled from every knockback/up
- no sustain
- Ninja Tabi counters you hard
- Control Ward can counter your engages

As per all champions, Wukong has his strengths, and his weaknesses. Compared to other Toplaner the matchup can be realy hard and he has no CC until he hits level 6. He don't has sustain so Corrupting Potion is a realy good starting item for Wukong because it compensated the weaknesses of Wukong's early game. If you flash in and aren't fast enough with your combo enemey's will just flash out and survive. So always play calm and smart with Wukong and wait for a good moment to engage don't hesitated but also don't rush dumb in. You can be the engage and you also can disengage.

Abilitys

Stone Skin (Passive)

COOLDOWN: -
Wukong gains 4 / 6 / 8 bonus armor and magic resistance for each visible enemy champion nearby.

Stone Skin gives you free tankyness specialy if you are in teamfights. Try to Jump into 3 People and use your combo E>A>Q>R. Keep in mind for each visibile enemy you get 4 armour that means if you walk into 3 enemey you get 3x4= 12 free armor and magic resist it increases with level 7 to 6 armor and magic resist and level 13 to 8 armour and magic resist.

Crushing Blow (Q) Aktiv

RANGE:650
COST:40 mana
COOLDOWN: 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 / 5
Wukong's next attack deals additional physical damage, gains range, and reduces the enemy's Armor for a short duration.

Wukong's next attack gains 125 range, deals 30/60/90/120/150 (+110% Attack Damage) bonus physical damage and reduces the enemy's Armor by 10/15/20/25/30% for 3 seconds. Crushing Blow resets Wukong's autoattack timer.

Try the combo A>Q>E>AA to outdamage your opponent.
You outrange nearly every meele champion with your Crushing Blow, you can use it for poking or last hitting. Keep in mind its an empowered autoattack so it has synergy with Duskblade of Draktharr an another on hit items like Stormrazor. It also follows if the enemy flashes to late.

Decoy (W) Aktiv

RANGE: 325
COST: 50/55/60/65/70 Mana
COOLDOWN: 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10

Wukong becomes Invisible for 1.5 seconds, leaving behind a decoy that will deal 70/115/160/205/250 (+60% Ability Power) Magic Damage to enemies near it after 1.5 seconds.
Stealth - Invisible: Wukong can only be revealed by nearby enemy Turrets or True Sight.

Keep in mind your Warrior Trickster can save you from Caitlyn Ace in the Hole from Urgot Fear Beyond Death. So you can litarly use it for Decoing Target spells. You can confuse your enemeys with pressing S so they think you used your Warrior Trickster but you didn't, just walk away and use your Warrior Trickster straigt after you confuse your enemy. Because you are getting invisible your item Duskblade of Draktharr proc's so you can use it for engaging or while fighting to proc it twice. A trick in teamfights for example is to press S so the enemy gets confused and think you used W. After that just use it in the right moment and kill them all !

Nimbus Strike (E)

RANGE: 650
COST: 45/50/55/60/65 Mana
COOLDOWN: 110 / 95 / 80
Wukong dashes to target enemy and sends out images to attack up to 2 additional enemies near his target, dealing physical damage to each enemy struck.

Wukong dashes to target enemy and sends out images to attack up to 2 additional enemies nearby. Each enemy struck takes 65/110/155/200/245 (+80% bonus Attack Damage) physical damage. Wukong then gains 30/35/40/45/50% Attack Speed for 4 seconds.

Always have in mind that you can hit upto 3 targets with your Nimbus Strike try to aim the squishy targets with Nimbus Strike. You also can use your Nimbus Strike as capcloser on laningphase to hit Minions with it and after then use the Crushing Blow's range to hit the enemey. Nimbus Strike also gives you early 30 % attackspeed and it scales with leveling it up, so you always Max it! Try the Combo A>Q>E>AA and then E>A>Q>R to finish him!

Cyclone (R)

RANGE: 315
COST: 100 mana
COOLDOWN: 120 / 105 / 90
Wukong's staff grows outward and he spins it around, dealing damage and knocking up enemies. Wukong gains Movement Speed over the duration of the spell.

Wukong's staff grows outward and he spins it around for 4 seconds, dealing 20/110/200 (+110% Attack Damage) physical damage per second to nearby enemies, knocking them up for 1 second the first time they get hit.At the start, Wukong gains 15% Movement Speed, and he gains an additional 10% per second over the duration. Reactivating Cyclone cancels it immediately.

Here comes the Skill that is unique and the skill that makes Wukong so special his Cyclone. Beside Cyclone has one of the storngest AD-Scaling(+110% AD) It gives you Movement speed that works great with Youmuu's Ghostblade. You can cancel your Cyclone in 1vs1 for example you engage with E>Q>R then you cancel your Cyclone and straigh after that do E>A>Q so the enemy just get deleted. If you are able to hit a good Cyclone in a team fight on the squishy carry targets, they explode and you one shot them instantly and change the whole teamfight for your advantage. Keep in Mind you are an assasin so play like one! Confuse your enemys with Warrior Trickster or Pressing S, sneak around them, do flanks and kill the squishy targets!

Summoner Spells

SUMMONER SPELLS
-
FLASH: Flash is a must have on Wukong. You need it for your engages later in teamfighting and it helps you out to get closer to your squishy targets. So always take Flash as first summoner with you.
IGNITE: You can take ignite as second summoner specialy for hard snowballing or killing the enemy, but i recomment to take Teleport instant specialy top. But in case you play mid in Bronz-Low Diamond Ignite is okay and usefull.

TELEPORT: Teleport is my favorite second summoner spell. It gives you great map controll specialy if you want to help your team out. It also gives you huge wave controll and if play it right you actulay don't need Ignite for killing your opponent. If you are a new Wukong just go Ignite instat of Teleport but if you collect some expirience and you feel confortable always go Teleport and solo carry your games with it!

Masteries

Domination

Domination
The Domination Rune Path is one of five rune paths. It is centered around burst damage, and general utility.
It is the best masterie tree for Wukong, because of the burst from Electrocute and your bruiser skill kit, play around your cooldown from Electrocute.

ELECTROCUTE

Electrocute
Basic attacks and abilities generate stacks on enemy champions hit, up to one per attack or cast. Applying 3 stacks to a target within a 3 second period causes them to be struck by lightning, dealing them 50 - 220 (based on level) (+ 50% bonus AD) (+ 30% AP) Attack damageAbility power Adaptive damage.
Try to play around your cooldown use it in the full combo burst with Q>A>E>AA
Cooldown
50 - 25 (based on level) seconds.

SUDDEN IMPACT

Sudden Impact
PASSIVE: Going in combat by affecting an enemy champion within 3 seconds of using a dash, blink or Teleport, or exiting from camouflage, grants 10 Lethality and 8 Magic Penetration for the next 5 seconds.
If the triggering effect deals damage it will also benefit from the penetration. It gives Wukong free damage, because of this Nimbus Strike or his Warrior Trickster so just take it and enjoy the free damage!

Eyeball Collection

Eyeball Collection
PASSIVE: Collect 2 Eyeballs from champion kills and 1 Eyeball from champion assists and ward Damage rating takedowns, up to 20. Gain 1 Ability Power or 0.6 Attack Damage (Adaptive) per Eyeball, up to 20 Ability Power and 12 Attack Damage. Eyeball Collection has a 10 second assist timer.
Completing your collection awards an additional 10 Ability Power or 6 Attack Damage. It gives you free AD and it has good synergy with [[Duskblade of Draktharr].

ULTIMATE HUNTER

Ultimate Hunter
Reduces the cooldown of your ultimate ability by 5% (+ 2% per Bounty Hunter stack).
Earn a Bounty Hunter stack for champion Damage rating takedowns, up to one per unique enemy champion. So you can more often use your Cyclone that means more gamechanging ultimates for your team!

RELENTLESS HUNTER

Relentless Hunter
PASSIVE: Gain 8 (+ 8 per Bounty Hunter stack) out-of-combat Movement speed icon movement speed.
Earn a Bounty Hunter stack for champion Damage rating takedowns, up to one per unique enemy champion.
On Twisted Treeline, capturing an altar grants a Bounty Hunter stack, up to once per unique altar. Its my favorit hunter masterie, it helps you to get closer to your enemeys!

Resolve
  • Resolve: The Resolve Rune Path is one of five rune paths. It is centered around resistances, health, and healing..
It gives + 9 Attack SPeed and + 15-135 Heatl based on level in combination with Domination

Bone Plating
  • Bone Plating: PASSIVE: After taking damage from an enemy champion, for 3 seconds, the next 3 spells or attacks you receive from the same enemy champion deal 15 - 40 (based on level) less damage. It has nearly the same cooldown like Electrocute so it has a huge synergy use it togehter for trading and poking!
    Cooldown
    45 seconds

Chrysalis
  • Chrysalis: PASSIVE: Start the game with 50 bonus health. At 4 Damage rating takedowns, if not in combat with champions, convert that health to gain 9 bonus Attack Damage or 15 Ability Power. It gives you free tankyness early and it transform into free damage after 4 takedowns. So its rly good for Wukong

Second Wind
  • Second Wind:PASSIVE: After taking damage from an enemy champion, gain health regeneration equal to 6 (+ 4% of your missing health) over 10 seconds. It can help alot vs hardpoke like Quinn or Teemo or other champs that are just annoying with there poke. Combined with Doran's Shield Second Wind is rly usefull and helps to survive the laningphase.

Items

-OR-

Ninja Tabi > Armor
Its one of the best choices vs hard ad comps or teams that has moderate cc. Always go for tabis if the enemy team don't have heavy cc.

Mercury's Treads > TENACITY
Its one of the best choices, you can't do anything wrong if you go Mercury's Treads Its great vs heavy cc comps and help alot in teamfighting.

Duskblade of Draktharr

Youmuus
  • Youmuu's Ghostblade: Youmuu's Ghostblade has great synergy with your Cyclone because you can activate and combo both movement buffs. Its also a good helping engaging tool because of its out of combat passiv and the movementspeed active buff. It gives you great armor penetration and its a huge damage buff. If you combine it with Duskblade of Draktharr and rush both of them, you are able to one shot squishy's in 1 second and just R out.

Sterak's Gage
  • Sterak's Gage: UNIQUE – GIANT STRENGTH: Gain 50% of base attack damage as bonus attack damage. That means if you rush Duskblade of Draktharr and Youmuu's Ghostblade it even gives you more bonus attack damage. It gives you even free tankyness. It helps you to survive your hardengage. The shield has a huge synergy. This item is a must have as third item!

Black Cleaver
  • Black Cleaver: Has huge synergy with your movement buffs. It is great if your team is heavily ad. It helps to shred armor from the enemy and has a good synergy with R. Every single stat is pretty good so it always depends in which situation you build it. Rush this item if you play top vs a heavy tank or rush it if your team realy needs a tank.

Ravenous Hydra

Stormrazor
  • Stormrazor: Well you can build Stormrazor as fun item, it has synergy with duskblade of drakthrr and your Q but in my opinion its a overkill and to expensive. Just build it if you are super fed and want to snowball even harder. You don't need to R in this combo just E>Q thats it. You can proc it twice if you use E>Q>W and just wait and then proc Stormrazor again your Warrior Trickster is the key here.

Laningphase Mid

Play aggressivly, it depends on the matchup how you play correctly just scroll up, i discribed how to play vs each enemy.
Always ward your bushes. You can use them to do your engages and just kill the enemy with it, sneak out of the bush with your W the enemy will not recognize it and just kill him with the full combo E>A>Q>R.

Farming is the most underrated and most important key for your mid and lategame. Always keep in mind 18 farm means 1 Kill, so focus in farming. Nimbus Strike helps you farming minions and if you can't reach them Crushing Blow helps you too. If you want a rly easy and good farm rush Tiamat.

So trading is one of the important things for Wukong. Always play around your Electrocute and your Resolve masteries. Do short trades. Be a bruising Monkey and poke your enemy down until you can all in them with a killing blow.

Laningphase Top

Toplane matchup is pretty hard you play differently toplane than midlane. See on the top topic how to play the matchups

Farming is hard. Try to learn farming under tower, because most of the matchup just push you to the tower. Don't underestimate your opponent. If the enemy goes for the last hit, trade him in that window or farm instead. Always play safe top, ward your bushes, think and guess where the enemy jungler is. If you are getting ganked Warrior Trickster helps you to juke. Sometimes you need to press only S so you can confuse your enemey's and press Warrior Trickster straight after it.

Trading is hard for Wukong toplane. Just focus on farming, trade if the enemy uses skills for farming. Always play around your Electrocute and your Resolve masteries. Do short trades. You don't need to kill your opponent toplane, just punish him if he does mistakes. If he pushes you all day, wait for your jungler to help you out, you can snowball pretty hard after 1 kill. Always keep in mind that you just need to have good farm to carry the mid/lategame.

To sum up Wukong has just so much potential in the right hand. Collect some knowledge and you will be highly rewarded. Wukong is the strongest assasin at the moment, use it! I highly recommend to all of my Wukong Brothers to play him midlane, because he got such easy matchups and a huge snowball potential. Hopefully i could share some knowledge from this guide to you guys. If you got any questions just ask them in the comment. I would be happy to see this Wukong more often!
