Quick Question: For the "Full Build vs Squishies" and "The Splitpush Dream" builds, would you go according to the build sequence and rush Titanic first? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but Triforce, theoretically, would give you better power and overall stats. Rushing Titanic for "The Splitpush Dream" build is understandable, but maybe I'm not just getting the big picture here. Can you help me out?

No, I guess I have missed those 2 builds when updating the guide and added the items in the wrong order so that's my bad there. Almost in every scenario Triforce is the first item you finish on Jax. I at one point liked to rush Titanic first so that's likely why I've added them in that order. Triforce rush is definitely the more better and effective choice.

why or what you think about if i take the other runes i mean the secondary page of runes to be domination would it be better or fit to jax to build more damage or your runes are so far better to drop the domination runes out side? does it work for both?

I personally think Resolve is the better choice as the secondary tree since defensive stats are really beneficial on Jax. You get already quite a strong damage from building Trinity Force and Titanic Hydra, most of the time that's all you need.

In some occasions yes the domination runes might work alright, late game Jax has a pretty low cooldown on his Q so he can proc Sudden Impact quite often, but he doesn't really need the penetration stats it grants you cause he already kills squishys quite fast which is his primary mission often. I don't really find other runes from Domination tree to be that worthwhile on Jax compared to Resolve trees runes.

I really enjoy playing Jax jungle more than to TOP lane with him. Thanks for the guide though!

Great that you enjoyed it! I enjoy both top and jungle but I enjoy top more and I'm definitely stronger as a top laner rather than jungler.

jungle jax is for the people that can't play the champion.

being able to play against all the cancer matchups makes you a good jax player.

besides that, jungle jax is just weak.

Is it better to take gunblade or blade of the ruined king when splitpushing?

PH45 (4) | October 2, 2017 11:01am
I don't really build either of those items too often. Neither are necessary for splitpushing as Titanic Hydra already gives you a lot of splitpushing power. Still, I think Hextech Gunblade is the better choice overall as it gives you more sustain and also some burst damage if someone squishy tries to hold the tower against you.

I usually build Blade of the Ruined King only if I'm facing champions like Singed.

For pushing i'd take ZZ rod portal
:/

I don't feel like Jax needs the power of ZZ rot portal for pushing. He can get far more useful items for himself that that since he already pushes at a pretty fast rate later on with his other items. In some cases yes it might work but I don't think its that optimal.

When should BoTRK be built? Or like in place of?

I pick up BoTRK if the opposing team has lots of tanks(2-3) or if my team just can't deal with the only tank of the enemy team. Also sometimes depending if the lane goes my way I might get it against champions like Maokai for example. Lately I have prioritised survivability in my builds though rather than building items like Hextech Gunblade and Blade of the Ruined King and have left them as last item since usually your other teammates like mid laners can deal with tanks after squishies are taken care of. If however I'm snowballing hard and opposing team is pretty squishy then I'll go for Hextech Gunblade

TLDR: Good buy against tanky champions when you are winning lane and you want to stick on them. Otherwise get it late game as 2nd last or last item prioritising tankiness and survivability first.

I'm really glad you shared this build! As a level 25 and usually feed, this guide is actually solid and allowed me to carry a 4 v 5. The damage on this when activating your W is especially crazy along with your E which makes you almost invincible. Anyways, this guide is a must try and deserves way more votes. Kudos to you man!

I remember when dodge chance was a thing and you could have 50% on Jax. It was the most ridiculous thing ever. His e back then had a 4 second base cooldown and could only be activated when you dodged something and was just the stun. Could you imagine if current Jax had a stun on a 4s cooldown?

It would be quite ridiculous I imagine. I remember how frustrating it was when dodge stat was included with Ninja Tabi's. Im glad Riot removed the stat since now it's quite unique to Jax.

I think gauntlet deserves an honorable mention. it gives cdr, mana, and sheen proc with a slow, which helps him stick to ppl better.

I guess I can add it to the items section, but I don't see it as a item you want to pick up. Trinity Force is much better since it gives you attack speed which benefits jax heavily, and overall it gives also cdr, mana and movespeed + the rage movespeed proc. Some people like Gauntlet but imo it just can't compete with Trinity force. Also you get stickiness with Gunblade/bork later on with their actives or Randuins and late game your Q has relatively low CD for jumping on to enemies.

I'm not saying it's inherently better in very situation, but if you fall behind, or face a heavy ad team, it can be a good choice in order to build a beefier jax
