Hello and welcome to this guide!

My name is Rasmus, I'm 20 years old, I'm born and raised in Denmark and I'm a professional League of Legends player/coach
I've been playing League of Legends for about 9 years, started back in Season 1 and got to high elo in season 3, peaking challenger for the first time in season 4, and been challenger ever since.
In season 8 i peaked Rank 13 on EUW with 922 lp, which is the highest i've went for so far!

I'm streaming on twitch.tv/stylleelol where I'm trying to help others by showing my gameplay and explaining why i do things and so on. ( Come by and say hi! :))

In this guide I'm gonna explain how i play Neeko, at the highest level on the soloq ladder (Challenger)
Pros

+ Unique ways of ganking
+ High AOE burst and CC
+ High outplay potential
+ Surprise enemies

Neeko is a new champion which means that not every 1 knows how she works and how to play her / against her. You can surprise enemies and take this knowledge into good use. Disquise as your other team members and surprise them by that, use your W in smarts way, cus' u get invisible for a little time, so use W + R to turn and burst them with them having almost no counter play etc.

Cons

- Short range
- Can easily fall behind
- Requires coordination with the team
- Really squishy

Neeko isn't really good late game, as she needs to be semi close to enemies to do stuff, and she will usually just get one shot by enemy mid / adcs late game, so she cant really go in for the poke, all ins etc. So when you are playing from behind you need to be smart! Try to disquise as a team member, look for your positioning etc. Try to flank them with W + R + Flash etc.

SUMMONER SPELLS
-
Ignite: Flash is the most standard summoner you can play with in League of Legends, and changing it wouldn't be any good. Stick with it, as its the best summoner in the game ;)
Ignite: Ignite is really good for putting more pressure. If you choose ignite you can play more aggresive and punish enemy midlaner more if you are ahead.
Cleanse: Cleanse can be really good if you are against hard CC team, or a champion such as TF who has a strong early game jungler, you need Cleanse in that matter, else they can just perma gang you and you will die over and over again, that wouldnt be fun right

SUMMONER SPELLS
-
Ignite: Flash is the most standard summoner you can play with in League of Legends, and changing it wouldn't be any good. Stick with it, as its the best summoner in the game ;)
Ignite: Ignite is really good for putting more pressure. If you choose ignite you can play more aggresive and punish enemy botlane way more, also gives you more kill pressure in the 1v1 or burst potential in the 2v2, would go for this in 95% of the times.
Exhaust: Exhaust would be really good to counter some champions, and could potentially help you win some 2v2s, just because you exhause the ADC, which means he will do way less dmg for some time.
When you gank you wanna start out with your E to root them, follow up with your Q and use W to gain a small movement speed buff.

You can also start out a gang when comming out of a bush with W, as you gain a bit of movement speed boost + invisibility, and that means that enemies have a bit less time to react to you comming.

When you get into mid/lategame she is a bit tricky to play, as you are really squishy. You should always try to wait for enemies to use their mobility spells, flash or whatever and then go in, so they cant escape your combo(s)
You can also engage with Flash + E + Q + R and Hourglass, as it means you will stay alive and deal huge amount of burst, but i would only say you should go for these plays, if you team can follow up somehow.
There is a few smart and good combos on Neeko.

One of them is when they are chasing you, you can easily turn on them with W + turn around, e + q + r and burst them 100-0

Also you can disquise as other members, make them think you are a melee champion, get really close to them and then you can hit your combo really easy, remember to play smart as this champion!
Pathing is pretty simple, just mirror it if you start on the other side of the map.

Start on blue, go to wolves and then either go for top scuttle or bot scuttle, depending if you have pressure on top/mid or bot/mid, also take in mind who you are fighting against in the enemy team. Will he win 1v1, then try to avoid fighting him, and dont go for same scuttle as him. If After you took scuttle you can either look for a gang as you can use your lvl 2 pressure, you most likely wont get a kill, but you can maybe burn a flash or smth and surprise them with an early gang, might even workout for a kill if you are lucky. Return to your jungle and take the rest, or go for a gang again after raptors for your lvl 3 spike. If you have done all your camps, look for a reset and go to your gromp and look for a gang top/mid, then after take wolves and head botside and use your pressure down there, remember to get pinks and place them to give your team some vision

When you play neeko in the midlane you need to take in mind, that the champion is new and you can take that to your advantage. Most players dont know how good or how bad neeko is right now, so use that as your advantage. You have huge trade and burst potential early, so you should aim to play aggresive all the time you can, just take in mind that you can get ganged easy, as you have no dashes or anything, only your w which gives small movement speed + invis.

Try to poke enemy midlaner and look to roam if you can, roaming is one of the strongest things you can do as a midlaner, and you can solo carry early game if you get a good roam.

When you are pushing you need to take in mind that you can get ganged really easy as i said. Always play towards your jungler / where u have vision. If you have topside river warded, play towards that, if you have botside warded, play towards that. If you have no wards, either play safe or play towards your jungler, so he can give some vision + support you if you get ganged.

Take this picture as an example. If you have a ward topside, you need to position yourself topside, same goes for botside etc.

Inherent Glamour (Passive): Neeko can disguise herself to appear as an ally champion. Damaging or taking damage from enemy champions or casting either Blooming Burst or Tangle-Barbs breaks the illusion and increases the cooldown.

Blooming Burst (Q): Neeko propels a seed into a target area, which blooms and damages enemies. If the burst kills an enemy or damages a champion or large monster, it will bloom again up to two times.

Shapesplitter (W): Passive: Every third basic attack resonates with spiritual energy, dealing bonus magic damage and briefly increasing Neeko’s movement speed.

Active: Neeko briefly slips out of sight, becoming invisible, gaining movement speed, and sending a temporary clone of her current form sprinting in a chosen direction.

Tangle-Barbs (E):Neeko slings a magical spiral in a direction, damaging and briefly rooting enemies it passes through. The last champion hit is rooted longer.

If Tangle-Barbs hits at least two enemies, it grows in size, speed, and root duration.

Pop Blossom (R): Neeko begins charging herself with spiritual essence. A moment later, she leaps into the air, gains a shield, and slows nearby enemies, releasing energy upon landing to massively damage and stun enemies in the area.

When disguised by Inherent Glamour, enemies won’t see Neeko’s initial charge-up.
Stalker's Blade - Runic Echoes
Stalker's Blade - Runic Echoes is a Core JNG item, must go for this, could go for the 1 with red smite, but wont be that usefull, as you arent really fighting 1v1, more bursting.
Sorcerer's Shoes
Sorcerer's Shoes is really good to get a bit more damage

Rabadon's Deathcap
Rabadon's Deathcap is a great late game item, gives you loads of AP which is perfect for mid/lategame burst potential.
Zhonya's Hourglass
Zhonya's Hourglass is a MUST have item on Neeko. You can make some great combos with r + hourglass, which means loads of dmg and survivability
Morellonomicon
Morellonomicon is a really good item right now, gives dmg, ap pen, health and Grievous Wounds, pretty much the perfect item for any AP caster. Either build straight into this after your JNG item, or only get the first part of it (Oblivion Orb)
Void Staff
Void staff is good against teams who starts building Magic Resist. You gain a lot of Penetration which is ideal, build this if they got a lot of MR or starts building towards it. It's also really good in general in the lategame, even if they dont build MR, as you will burst them like they have no stats!
Sorcerer's Shoes
Sorcerer's Shoes is really good to get a bit more damage
Mercury's Treads
Mercury's Treads can save you in some situations, build this if enemy team is CC heavy, and you wouldnt be able to do a thing, cus you would be sitting still all game in a CC lock
Luden's Echo
Luden's Echo is a MUST have first item, it gives you burst, ap, mana and 20% cdr which is really one of the best early items you can get in this game, also building towards it you gain great stats!
Build this either after Ludens or after Hourglass
Boots of Mobility
Boots of Mobility is good if you are aiming to roam a lot, or just in general getting around the map faster
Remnant of the Watchers
Remnant of the Watchers is a CORE support item, gotta get them wards!
Twin Shadows
Twin Shadows is really good for picking enemies off and also for setting yourself +
your team up as Neeko. You can get a bit closer to them which means, that you can use your combo, and you also offer catch potential with it to help your team.
Zhonya's Hourglass
Zhonya's Hourglass is a MUST have item on Neeko. You can make some great combos with r + hourglass, which means loads of dmg and survivability
Shurelya's Reverie
Shurelya's Reverie is great to get a bit of movement speed boost, also it boosts up your teammates nearby, has good synergy with Twin shadows aswell!
Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Rylai's Crystal Scepter can be a really good support item, as you slow down enemies, as Neeko support you dont really need hardcore dmg, so anything that can setup your team can be helpful!
Void Staff
Void staff can be a good choice if you are going towards getting some more dmg in the later stages of the game
Rabadon's Deathcap
Rabadon's Deathcap is a possible item to get if you are 40+ min ingame and you just need to change towards dmg instead of support items.
