DISCLAIMER
This build is mostly just for fun.
If you're thinking about taking this build into ranked. It is viable all the way up to mid plat (imo). you can go higher though, if you feel comfortable with him.
+ High damage output early game
+ High CC The Darkin Blade Infernal Chains
+ Pretty good waveclear
+ Good mobility Umbral Dash
+ Easy to snowball with
+ Non mana spender
CONS
- Melee
- Hard to get back if you fall behind earlygame
- High CD on abilites earlygame
- Falls off lategame
Here's a few examples/gameplay of some of my recent games
As you can see in Example#1, my CS is extremely low.
Yet, becuase of Aatrox's extreme base damage, he's got no problem duelling in the botlane
Ashe is no big deal. She has no mobility or CC besides her Volley, which makes her an easy target for Aatrox
Miss Fortune is no big deal. She has no mobility or CC besides her Make it Rain, which makes her an easy target for Aatrox
Twitch is no big deal. He has no mobility or CC besides his Venom Cask, which makes him an easy target for Aatrox
Thresh is a fairly easy matchup. Thresh doesn't have any mobility and his damage output is low. If he hooks you Death Sentence, turn on the enemy ADC. Inform your support so it doesn't end up in an akward 2v1

Semi-Easy
Jhin has no mobility which makes him an easy target for your Infernal Chains. If Jhin uses Fleet Footwork, you have to time your engage correctly. Simply just wait for Fleet Footwork to go on cooldown and engage. If you engage while it's not on cooldown, Jhin will basic attack you and the movement speed he get's from Fleet Footwork, is more than enough to simply walk out of you Infernal Chains and escape
Sivir will try to poke you, try to farm as good as you can. Sivir doesn't have any mobility or escape besides her Spell Shield. Because of her Spell Shield's long early game cooldown (22s level 1), she's fairly easy to kill. Just wait for her to use it and engage when it's on cooldown
Nami will try to poke you and make it almost impossible for you to trade in lane because of her healing Ebb and Flow. Nami doesn't have any mobility which makes her an easy target for you. If she gets too close, kill her

Middle
Pre 6 Varus is not so much of a struggle. After level 6 he starts to pop off. You won't really be able to get close to him, becuase of his Chain of Corruption. If they have a heavy CC team, you can buy a Mercurial Scimitar to easily avoid his Chain of Corruption. I wouldn't recommend getting it though, if he's the only one with hard CC
Jinx can be quite annoying with her Flame Chompers! and Zap!. She will try to kite you. Have your ultimate or Ghostblade ready. Try to get up close and CC her.

Semi-Hard
Lucian can be a hard matchup, because of his Relentless Pursuit. Wait for him to use his Relentless Pursuit and engage on him while it's on cooldown
Vayne is a quite hard matchup with her combined mobility and CC. Because of her short range she's pretty vulnerable to your The Darkin Blade. You're most likely not gonna be able to kill her, since she will just use Condemn whenever you try to engage. A support with hard CC like Thresh or Leona is recommended for this matchup
Janna can be a somewhat hard matchup becuase of the low mana cost on her abilites, she will poke you out of lane. If she gets too close engage, you need follow up from your support in order to kill her. Wait for her to use her Howling Gale and engage when it's on cooldown

Hard
Caitlyn is a very hard matchup because of her long range poke and her combined mobilty and CC. It's impossible to trade with her because of her 90 Caliber Net that provides both mobilty and CC. You can't do much in this matchup, try to see if you can pick her out solo and kill her with help from your support
Draven is a hard matchup because of his Stand Aside, which can cancel your The Darkin Blade> Umbral Dash combo. His Stand Aside has a fairly long cooldown early game (18s lvl 1), See if you can bait his Stand Aside and engage when it's on cooldown
Brand is is a really hard matchup because of his extreme poke potential and high damage. Don't try to fight him, farm under tower and wait for a gank
Pyke is a hard matchup because of his high mobility Phantom Undertow, damage and sustain Gift of the Drowned Ones. Wait for a gank is the best option in this matchup
