A little bit about me
I started playing League in Season 1, towards the end of the season. Since the beginning I was a support main, I enjoyed the 2v2 dynamics much more than 1v1s so I've stuck with it throughout my league career.
I love competitive games and have yet to find anything for me that compares to League.
Aside from League, I am a happily married man, father of 2 kids and I am a beloved pet owner. If you guys have any questions about my guides, champions or really anything in general, feel free to stop by my stream!
If you enjoy playing, or want to learn more about Neeko, you can read and discuss more over at
/r/NeekoMains.
The reasoning behind Ignite is that it gives you a lot of extra pressure in lane, and furthermore adds a 40% healing reduction.
Exhaust is used when there are high damage threats on the enemy team, such as Zed, Kayn, Draven etc
It gives you an extra chance at escaping with the damage reduction, as well as the slow it provides. The damage reduction can be used to negate all in damage, from something like a Zed's Death Mark.
Barrier is an option to help keep Neeko alive during laning phase, especially when getting close with her ultimate, before Zhonya's Hourglass is complete. It can also save you in them clutch moments when your hourglass is on cooldown.
Glacial Augment has been picking up speed on supports, causing your basic attacks to slow enemies up to 40%, enabling you to hit your skillshots easier, and making it harder for the opponents to escape. Glacial Augment also leaves an aoe slow on the ground when used with active items that contain a slow. This changes priority in item builds, and is very strong with champions that are reliant on catching enemies. |
One of Neeko's core items is Zhonya's Hourglass, and Perfect Timing gives you a free Stopwatch component, saving you 600g and giving you a free one time stasis effect before you complete the full item. |
Biscuit Delivery helps your sustain in lane, and increases your mana cap by 50 anytime you consume or sell a biscuit, which is imperative on a champion that is spamming high cost spells for damage. |
CDR is extre important on Neeko support, as outside of her abilities, she has next to no damage. You want to be casting as much as possible, and keeping your active items on the lowest CD possible to synergize with Glacial Augment. |
Two of Neeko's abilities impair the movement of champions, and they're core to her combos and peel. Cheap Shot increases damage dealt to champions with impaired movement, and if we're picking Neeko, it's for damage! |
Ingenious Hunter gives us 15% active item CDR, along with an extra 25% once you have a takedown on every enemy champion. The Glacial Augment build relies on 2 active items, and your core of Zhonya's Hourglass, making this rune invaluable. |
|
Boots of Mobility > MOVEMENT SPEED These are the cheapest boots in the game, but often the most useful - especially on a support. Neeko's ult requires her to get into the middle of the enemies, and Mobility Boots can help enable her to do that. The extra movement speed can be invaluable for catching someone out with Tangle-Barbs. Mercury's Treads > TENACITY/AP RESIST If the enemy team has a lot of CC, or a lot of AP damage, you can trade Mobi's out for these. They offer +25 magic resist, along with reducing the effect of stuns, slows, taunts, fears, silences, blinds and immobilizes by 30%. Sorcerer's Shoes > DAMAGE A good pick up for going against a team with a lot of tanks, or champions that will be building magic resist. Helps deal a bit more damage, but at the cost of some movement speed, and roaming potential. |
Zhonya's Hourglass > SURVIVABILITY/UTILITY/DAMAGE Zhonya's is a staple part of Neeko's kit, especially when paired with Perfect Timing - saving yourself 600g! Pop Blossom is used up close and personal with the enemy team, and Neeko is very squishy, Zhonya's Hourglass offers protection when in the middle of the fight, and negates damage such as Death Mark and Ignite. |
Twin Shadows > DAMAGE/UTILITY Twin Shadows is a core item when choosing Glacial Augment, even alone, it is a great item to help you chase down enemies faster with the slow, up to 40% - or if you want vision of where enemies could be, helps you not to face check brushes or while taking objectives. With Glacial Augment it also adds a slowing line on the ground after hitting an enemy, increasing the slow and potentially slowing others too. You gain 70 AP, adding onto your burst damage window, 10% CDR and extra movement speed. |
Hextech GLP-800 > DAMAGE/UTILITY/CDR Like Twin Shadows, Everfrost is core with Glacial Augment, shooting out icy bolts to slow enemies, leaving a slowing trail on the ground after hitting them, potentially slowing the entire team, enabling you to catch them with your Pop Blossom, stop them escaping, or even to peel. |
Luden's Echo > DAMAGE/CDR A good item to take for extra burst damage, hitting up to 4 targets, along with helping wave clear. You gain extra CDR and increases your mana pool. |
Morellonomicon > DAMAGE/UTILITY/HP A good pickup if your VS an enemy team with lots of healers such as Soraka or Sona, champions with strong self heal such as Vladimir, or life steal items like Bloodthirster. It inflicts grievous wounds on champions damaged by your abilities, reducing their healing by 40%. You also gain +300 health, along with magic penetration. |
Mikael's Crucible > SURVIVABILITY/CDR/UTILITY A good pick when facing an enemy team with hard CC that you need to Cleanse on allies, such as Impale, Death Sentence, Cocoon etc and grants bonus movement speed for 2s after successfully cleansing an ability. Increases your Mana and HP regeneration, while granting you 40 magic resist. |
Shurelya's Reverie > UTILITY/DAMAGE/SUSTAIN If you need to engage on enemies quickly and efficiently with your team, you can take Shurelya's Battlesong for a quick aoe burst of speed, which has good synergy with chasing down enemies slowed by your Glacial Augment actives. You gain 40 AP, 200 HP and mana regen, useful stats on Neeko. |
Banshee's Veil > SURVIVABILITY/DAMAGE If there's a lot of AP on the enemy team, or they have certain, deadly single target abilities, you might find yourself wanting to pick up Banshee's Veil, you gain 60 magic resist, and gain 70 AP - it can be expensive, and it's not as good as Zhonya's for Neeko, but it's still a good niche pickup sometimes. |
Redemption > UTILITY/SURVIVABILITY If you find your team lacking any sort of sustain that could turn teamfights around, you can take Redemption to boost your teams survivability. It's a niche pick on Neeko but sometimes necessary if you know a clutch heal could turn teamfights around. |
Inherent Glamour (Passive) |
COOLDOWN: 25 − 10s (BASED ON LEVEL) INNATE: Neeko is offered a selection of allied champions to take their appearance. Once selected, there's a 2.5 seconds delay before another champion can be selected. NEW 9.17 - I'M BEAUTIFUL When disguised, Neeko can select herself to deactivate her disguise, putting it on a 2 second cooldown. While disguised, Neeko can use basic attacks while keeping her form. Taking damage from enemy champions, or casting either Blooming Burst or Tangle-Barbs breaks the illusion and puts Inherent Glamour on cooldown. |
- Neeko will copy aesthetics as well as superficial mechanical Statistics. She will fake a number of readings:
- Health bar (original's current amount becomes her apparent maximum)
- Secondary resource - e.g. mana, energy or none at all
- Buffs and debuffs with their respective icons and VFX
Blooming Burst (Q) RANGE: 800 EFFECT RADIUS: 225 COST: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 mana COOLDOWN: 7 |
ACTIVE: Neeko propels a seed into a target area dealing magic damage to enemies within. If the seed kills an enemy unit or damages a champion or large monster, it will bloom again after a short delay to deal magic damage. This cannot happen more than twice per Blooming Burst. |
Shapesplitter (W) COOLDOWN: 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 / 16 |
PASSIVE: Basic attacks on-hit grant Neeko a stack of Shapesplitter, up to a maximum of two. At 2 stacks, Neeko's next basic attack is turned into a non-projectile, dealing bonus magic damage and granting her bonus movement speed for 1 second, consuming the stacks. ACTIVE: Neeko becomes invisible for 0.5 seconds, sending a temporary clone of her Inherent Glamour current form, sprinting in the target direction for 3 seconds and up to 900 units away. Both Neeko and the clone gain bonus movement speed for 3 seconds. |
- The passive part of Shapesplitter can stack and affect structures when Neeko has more AP than bonus AD. Otherwise it doesn't.
- The clone travels in the target direction until it runs into terrain.
- Shapesplitter can be used to block certain abilities, such as Sleepy Trouble Bubble or Dark Binding.
Tangle-Barbs (E) RANGE: 1000 COST: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 mana BASE COOLDOWN: 12 / 11.5 / 11 / 10.5 / 10 |
ACTIVE: Neeko slings a magical spiral in a target direction, dealing magic damage and rooting enemies it passes through. If Tangle-Barbs hits at least one enemy, it grows in size and speed, and the root duration is increased. |
- Tangle-Barbs go through minions, unlike Lux's Light Binding
Pop Blossom (Q) EFFECT RADIUS: 600 COST: 100 mana COOLDOWN: 90 |
ACTIVE: Neeko winds up over 1.25 seconds, creating a zone around her. The zone is invisible to enemies while she is Inherent Glamour disguised. Neeko then shields herself for 2 seconds, increased for each enemy champion nearby, as she leaps into the air for 0.6 seconds. Upon landing, Neeko bursts with spiritual energy, dealing magic damage and stunning nearby enemies for 1.25 seconds. |
- Stasis will not cancel Pop Blossom and can be activated during the wind up but not during the leap.
You can take Blooming Burst first if you do not plan on invading, and have ample vision set up to see an invade incoming before you get caught. Otherwise, you can take Tangle-Barbs for the root, potentially setting up a first blood if your team does choose to invade, or if you get caught out.
Your aim of laning phase is to use Blooming Burst to poke out your enemies and stop them taking CS, or wittling their health down low enough so they can't engage on you. Blooming Burst has insane damage at lower levels, especially when used in conjunction with Tangle-Barbs, you can chunk down up to a half of a squishie's (like Sona) health in one combo.
Try not to use Shapesplitter unless you're wanting to engage, as it's your only escape tool outside of Flash, and has a long cooldown. Neeko is very squishy, and if caught out by an engage support such as Leona, she can be bursted down to 0 if her escapes are on cooldown.
Level 6 you can potentially look for an all in, casting Inherent Glamour into a Pop Blossom, as your opponents cannot see the wind up AoE when camouflaged. You can flash while winding up, such as from fog of war, to catch your enemies offguard. Follow up with a Tangle-Barbs and Blooming Burst and you should have an easy kill. Ignite if you are vs a healer such as Soraka or Sona will negate their heals and hopefully help you pick up the kill.
You can look to roam with your Inherent Glamour, pretending to be your jungler, or set up ganks for your jungler top lane, by knowingly walking over an enemy ward while camouflaged into your jungler - this gives false information to the opponents, and can set up a surprise gank on the opposite side of the map, without you even being there!
Look for catching out enemies with your active items, you can use Everfrost to slow down enemies for a big Pop Blossom, to stop them escaping, or to peel for yourself or your team, the same with Twin Shadows, and you can combo them one after the other for an extra long slow, giving you or your team chance to continue the CC.
You can use Shapesplitter while camouflaged, sending out a clone of whoever you have your Inherent Glamour on, potentially running in the opposite direction, while the real champion comes and engages on the enemies, creating some insane outplays!
You can use Inherent Glamour to take on the form of low health allies, or even dead allies, lowering your apparent health to theirs, baiting out the enemies, then unleashing your ultimate combo on them for quick, easy baits and kills.
The main thing to be aware of, is making sure your teams threats stay alive, while removing, or zoning, the enemy teams threats.
You'll want to be sticking close to your ADC, while roaming efficiently and safely as possible to place deep wards. You have the advantage of immobilizing enemy threats, high outplay potential baits with your Shapesplitter, and high movement speed if you take Mobility Boots. Use all of these to your advantage! Neeko is still very squishy, so be careful of facechecking brushes, or fog of war alone.
Control Ward's are a staple part of any support, both to deny your enemies vision, and to provide your team extra vision. You should make sure to buy one at least every time you back, preferably to have 2 on you at all times.
