Introduction

Hello everyone, my name is Uncouth, I've mained ADC for the last 4 years. I used to main/one trick Kalista in season 5/6 but then began switching to more traditional AD Carries. I am currently Diamond 5.

In case you were curious, I generally find myself playing hyper-carry ADC's more than the others. My favorite 3 ADC's are Twitch, Tristana, and Jinx. The play style I usually enjoy has me farming in the early game then hard carrying late game.

Come check out my Stream here for some high elo flashy plays, inting, and more!

I love to answer questions about builds or talk league in general, so feel free to pop in my stream whenever I'm live and ask me anything

Why pick Twitch?

Twitch is a hard scaling hyper-carry who can hard carry games. He is a champion very different from others, because of the ridiculously large impact he has in the late game. You single-handedly determine the outcome of mid and late game fights, depending on how you play. Some players don't like this, but I'm sure many players like being able to win the game by themselves. Additionally, Twitch's Q, his invisibility can be easily abused in solo queue, due to how unaware many players can be. This makes you especially lethal in lower elo where people will not expect you. You can turn fights super easily, and I can say with confidence I have won games 1v5 as Twitch.

Compared to champions like Lucian, Twitch has a weaker laning phase, but if Twitch is able to play the lane defensively and survive, he can easily outscale and out-carry a Lucian in the Mid and Late game teamfights.

Gangster Twitch

While I enjoy playing all hyper carry ADC's, Twitch Twitch is definitely my favorite to play. His stealth resets and massive damage make you feel like a god among men.

Abilities (Introduction and Basic Uses)

PASSIVE: Deadly Venom - Twitch's basic attacks each Poison icon poison his target with a Deadly Venom stack.

While your poison might pick up a kill from time to time, the main purpose of this ability is to work with your E, Contaminate. It is important to note that your poison will last for 6 seconds on an enemy champion, but if you attack them again, the poison will remain applied and add an additional 6 seconds after each auto. Your W, Venom Cask, also applies stacks of poison to the enemy, which can help let the poison linger for longer.

Q: Ambush - Become camouflaged for 10-14 seconds, gain bonus attack speed after.

Twitch's Q allows you to maneuver into teamfights without getting engaged on, escape ganks, and surprise your enemies. When you cast Q, you won't become stealth for 1 second. Once stealthed, attacked enemies or using abilities will break your stealth. You also gain 10% bonus movement speed while stealthed, and 30% when moving toward enemy champions within a 1000 unit range. Once you have broken stealth, you gain from 30-50% attack speed. Finally, your Q will reset if any champion dies while your poison is applied to them, letting you chase multiple enemies with ease.

W: Venom Cask - Hurl a cask of venom at a target area, infecting all enemies hit with a poison.

Twitch's W is most useful for it's CC. It applies a 25%-45% slow on all enemies hit by it. This makes your W really useful for escaping from ganks, or chasing down enemies. The range on this ability is very good, and even just clipping them with the edge of the ability will slow them significantly. Also, if the enemy stands in your W, it will apply up to 4 stacks of your poison. This can be really useful for longer trades you take, and let you win if you use it in combination with your E.

E: Contaminate - Damage each nearby poisoned enemy, with each stack granting bonus damage.

Your E gives you more damage. It can be used to burst enemies who are low HP, as well as catch enemies that leave your auto attack range. Just make sure that you cast it when you have around 4-6 stacks of your Poison. The range on it is 1200, which is more than double your attack range. This spell is very useful in teamfights as well, for when you are AoE'ing multiple targets with your ultimate. You can get off several autos, then finish them with your E. This ability will always do more damage than your auto attacks in the early game, but later on it is more important to auto attack unless they are out of range.

R: Spray and Pray - Gain bonus attack damage and 300 range for 5 seconds.

Spray and Pray is what makes Twitch such a good late game champion. Your auto attacks will AoE through targets and deal massive amounts of damage. Use this in combination with your invis, and you'll have increased range, attack speed, damage, and most importantly, you'll come out of no where. If you wait for the enemy to clump and engage on someone else, you can drop tsunamis of damage onto the entire enemy team. Be careful to use this when you know you're going ALL IN, otherwise hold onto it. Don't waste it on creep waves, don't use it to trade. You can use it to assassinate targets, win 1v1s, and the most important use--shred your enemies in teamfights.

Abilities (Advanced Mechanics and Strategies)

PASSIVE: Deadly Venom

- While there's not much to say about his passive, just remember not to rely on the damage from it ever. If any enemy has a potion ticking, it will out-heal the passive damage when they are near death.
- If you're trading in lane, you can extend the duration of your passive until your E is back up again, do this by just auto attacking them one time before the 6 seconds expire. You can get two E's off before the poison expires if done correctly.

Q: Ambush

- Your Q resets on kill/assist, so make sure you are spamming Q as soon as you kill your first target in a fight. Even if you don't need the stealth, you gain bonus attack speed.
- You can Q in the middle of a fight to gain bonus attack speed. Do this when you want a trade to turn into an All-in.
- Your Q takes 1 second to initiate, so you can do several things during that 1 second. You can get off an auto attack, you can throw your W, botrk, etc.
- Using the same mechanic, you can auto a blast cone just before your invis goes off, so that you blast cone over a wall completely undetected.

W: Venom Cask

- Throw your W right before going stealthed when chasing enemies
- Use your W to chase enemies
- When leaving stealth to engage, auto attack once, then W between auto attacks. Do this to take advantage of your auto attack timer.
- Use your W to clear large minion waves (Until you get Runaans Hurricane)
- Use your W to zone the enemy off their minion wave while under turret to deny them farm.
- Your W can apply a maximum of 4 stacks to anyone in it.

E: Contaminate

- Wait to use your E until they've left your auto attack range, unless they aren't giving up. Sometimes people will even try to flash away, burning their summoners for free, and giving you the kill.
- Don't E until they have ~4-6 stacks of poison.
- Use your E to finish at least one target in a teamfight, so that you can get your Q reset and chase the rest.
- Use your E to waveclear minions in combination with either your W, or Runaans Hurricane.
- Use your E to help you last hit under tower, when a single auto attack won't cut it.

R: Spray and Pray

- Try to delay teamfights where you need your ultimate for when you have Runaans Hurricane.
- Make sure you save this for when you are going to deal the most damage in a teamfight.
- Use your ultimate to assassinate targets that you might not have enough damage for otherwise.
- Your ultimate isn't as important in the early game, so don't be afraid to use it if you think you can secure a kill or summoner spells with it.
- Wait for enemies to clump together in order to maximize your damage in teamfights.

Starting Items

Doran's Shield

Doran's Shield is going to be the best option in most matchups. Doran's Shield highly benefits ADC's who suffer during the laning phase, and especially ADC's that have short attack range. Twitch can have a pretty weak early game compared to other ADC’s, and often needs that extra help in order to survive early. Because of the innate survivability that Doran’s Shield provides, I highly recommend taking Doran's Shield versus aggressive/poke ADC's, and ranged supports (Ex: Draven, Lucian, Janna, Soraka).

Doran's Blade

Doran's Blade is a great option when you aren't going to get smashed in the early game. While Twitch is quite weak in lane compared to other ADC’s, if you are confident that you can survive or win the laning phase, then take Doran's Blade instead. The point of taking Doran's Blade over other starting items is because of the lifesteal and extra AD it provides. This is especially useful when transitioning to the mid-game, and can definitely reward you later on because of the stats. In essence, take Doran's Blade versus easier matchups that you know you can win, or go even.

Core Items

Blade of the Ruined King

Blade of the Ruined King is going to be your first pickup for many reasons. First off, it is amazing in lane for someone like Twitch, who can struggle to stay in lane versus bully supports and ADC’s. Building BOTRK gives you lifesteal as soon as possible, which is going to help you sustain versus any potential threats or all-ins! Secondly, the Bilgewater Cutlass active is extremely useful on Twitch. You can use this to help you chase down or kite an enemy every 90 seconds, which is very helpful on an immobile champion like Twitch. The slow will help your support get in range to put in some real work for you. While the build path itself is already very helpful, BOTRK will just be helpful in general to you for the rest of the game. The active is super powerful for baiting enemies after leaving your Ambush, and also for chasing any fleeing enemies you need to catch up to!

Runaan’s Hurricane

Runaan's Hurricane is the most essential item to build on Twitch. It used to be the item you would rush, but recent buffs to Blade of the Ruined King has made this more optimal as a second item. Why is Runaan’s so essential on Twitch? It’s because of Spray and Pray of course! When you decide to un-stealth, you’re going to want to do as much damage to as many targets as you can. While your Ulti already let’s your bullets pass through several targets, Runaan’s Hurricane will guarantee that you hit even more enemies! The item grants you much needed attack speed, critical strike, and of course, the passive that sets you up for success. It let’s your auto attacks hit multiple enemies from your max attack range, so you’ll be shredding multiple enemies in teamfights very quick.Once you finish building Runaan's Hurricane, you will have a massive power-spike, and become much more useful for you team. At this point you should start trying to group and make plays if possible!

Infinity Edge

Infinity Edge is essential on most ADC’s after their first Zeal item. In this case, since we’ve already built Runaan's Hurricane, we want to get IE second. Infinity Edge doubles our critical strike chance, and gives us tons of AD in order to pack a harder punch with our auto attacks. Also, this will help us shred tanks because of the 10% true damage conversion with our critical strikes! After you’ve built Infinity Edge, you’re either free to build another Zeal item, or focus on grabbing other offensive or defensive items, which are listed below!
