This was one of the best guides I have ever seen, though I do have a couple of questions. Firstly, would Last Stand be a viable option? There have been many times when I have been extremely low, only staying alive by by hitting vitals. Would Last Stand help that much? Secondly, if you are being pushed back and are forced to farm under your turret, would Tiamat be better than AD items? the passive really helps me with with wave clear, so if you have been first blood and are getting beaten in the early laning phases would you buy Tiamat? Finally, would Corrupting Potion be a good starter?

Thanks for your time, Bobski72

Hello Bobski72,

Last Stand only works in very limited situation, most of the time, if you are very low on health, you wouldn't be getting anything out of it anyway.

Tiamat is a pretty good item to clear waves fast, so if you are forced to farm under turret, you can try and catch the wave before the wave crashes to your turret with tiamat. Though I recommend players try to get a tiamat first in a losing lane, I seldom does it due to my playstyle, so don't take my games as reference.

As for corrupting potion, I believe that getting one of the doran's would be better. You can always just get a refillable potion later, and the doran's gives you more overall strength in 1v1s or to counter pokes. Getting corrupting potion means that you are forced into a passive playstyle as your all in is pretty weak.

As a Master Yi main, I can tell you there are things you should worry about. Master Yi can run at you with R, and then auto attack you, tricking you into riposting an auto attack which isn't good for Fiora at all. His Q will hit you, and all of Master Yi's outplay potential is in this skill. You can also talk about how they should avoid being auto-attacked at low health because then you can't Riposte his auto-attacks because you will die. It becomes a mind game matchup. With BloodRazor and Blade of the Ruined King, Master Yi outscales Fiora in the lategame when built right, however early game, Fiora destroys him. Just food for thought.

As a Garen i can tell you there are things you should worry about. Garen can run at you with Q, and then cancel it with his spin, tricking you into riposting his spin which isnt good for fiora at all. His Q will hit you, and all of garens early game damage is in this skill. You can also talk about how they should avoid being silenced at low health because then you cant riposte his ult. It becomes a mind game matchup. With bramble vest and high damage, Garen outscales Fiora in the midgame when built right, however late game Fiora destroys him. Just some food for thought.

The guide was last updated on May 27th 2017, during the 7.10 patch. I assume the author must've forgotten to update the title to reflect this, however.

I have a question. Why you use Attack Speed quint instead of Attack Damage one?

Hi EraAegis,

Can you update the guide to 7.11 please. There are some outdated stuff and it's really confusing me.

Thank you

So, I just played my 1st Fiora game, I called top first but then a Garen autolocked(******* Garen mains, think they can take any lane that has already been called) so I had to go mid. I was doing pretty good against a veigar, but then jungle and botlane stayed in my lane from 10mins+ before a turret was destroyed. It was 4v1 in my lane, and I had a cs disadvantage, and there was a Morgana, and each time i'd try to pick off one of their squishies, Morg would root me for what seems like forever, then Brand would start his combo, and so on and so forth. Other than switching lanes, HOW do I deal with games like this?

Hey CwasCard,

Sometimes, there are simply games that you cannot win. However, if you see something undesirable in champion select, such as somebody taking your role, or if you're forced into a role you don't want to play, you can simply dodge the game, especially if it's a normal game. Going into a game you don't want to play will make people tilted, remember that this is just a game, you're supposed to have fun, don't take it too seriously.

Instead of focussing on one bad game experience, you can simply either take a break or play again, take what you learned from that game however little they are, and try to improve your skills, do understand that if even through a lot of games, you find yourself unable to improve, you should look to do a little bit of reflecting on yourself instead of focussing on the few games where you got "trolled".

And for what happened in that game for you, you should try to build a QSS earlier, build Mercury Treads so you don't get rooted/stunned for too long, and be more careful and aware of the enemies' positionings before you engage, you should find yourself in a favourable position such as you catching off an enemy while the others are all on the other side of the wall etc. Sometimes, you simple have to be more patient and wait for them to split up to maybe chase your teammate, going straight in 1v5 will very likely result in you being focussed down very quickly.

I really think that tiamat should be more significant. It helps you auto attack reset which is really important for trades and fights. Even with less attack damage, it can still give your more dps. What do you think ?

Hey Sylnister,

I am going to assume that you are talking about rushing Tiamat first as opposed to grabbing long swords and pickaxe, because I do recommend Ravenous Hydra as a first item most of the time, and that its passive and active help Fiora push waves easier. There are a couple of reasons why I don't believe you should rush Tiamat.

First, Tiamat is not really an auto attack reset, it is an ability that has a 10s CD. In an extended trade where if you had a pickaxe and long sword instead, it will mean that every lunge will deal about 17 more damage, every auto will deal 15 more damage, your second e would deal about 24 more damage, even your vital will deal more damage. Pickaxe + Long sword simply gives more raw power since your abilities scale really well with the extra AD.

Secondly, as for short trades, with pickaxe and long sword, assuming that you lunged for a vital, then AA->E->E, you will still be dealing 71 + 0.675% max health as damage, which is just about 20 damage short of if you had Tiamat and you used the active in very close range.

Thirdly, while Tiamat can be a tad bit more useful in short trades, you lose out on damage during an all-in. And as mentioned in the guide, if you rush it first item, you will lose the opportunity to freeze a wave when you can, so if you already had a lead, say you had a first blood, and the wave is pushing towards you, if you recall, buy a Tiamat and teleport back to lane, you will have no choice than to push, which means you won't be able to extend the lead as well.

However, if the lane is mostly going to be even, or you can't apply pressure in that matchup, like Malphite, you can rush Tiamat first and just try to shove the lane as fast as possible to farm up. Since you as Fiora are not really dependant on kills early, there is nothing wrong with just pushing in every wave as fast as possible and then do some warding and roam.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
