As with all characters, Lux has many different ways she can be played. I made 5 different item sequences you can choose from, 2 full damage, 2 with some defensive stats, and a support.
If you're looking for the support build it is the 3rd character on team 2.
I can't stress enough that you should not specifically follow the builds above. You will need different items for different builds on the enemy team. If you are just starting however, one of the builds above will be able to get you through your first few games.

The masteries for Lux are fairly straightforward. They are your typical AP masteries.
Where it gets tricky is the support mastery page. I personally do not like playing Lux support because I prefer soloing mid, getting fed, and destroying mid/late game. I made this mastery page based on what I thought would best suit a support Lux.
If you have any suggestions on changes, let me know in the comments. I have used this for a few games and it did work very well for me as a support.

Offensive
Flash is a must for Lux. Because of how squishy Lux is, flash will help you avoid many deaths. It can also help you close the distance you need to hit them with your Light Binding to stop them and finish the kill.
Teleport is a favorite for most people because they are able to have a lot higher map presence. It allows you to go help out a lane, even laser weak people that are running. This is a great alternative to Clarity.
Clarity is my personal favorite over teleport. Many people dislike you using clarity but it allows you to stay in your lane as long as you want if you are playing defensively.
Ignite is used by a lot of people because Lux is notorious for having people get away at very low health. I wouldn't recommend using Ignite, but if you do well with it, don't change it! ;)

Clairvoyance is probably your only option as a support. This will help you check for ganks, set up ganks, check baron/dragon (if for some reason they aren't warded), or even scout a target that left your vision to finish them with your laser.
