Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Allow me to introduce you to a style of play you may not have considered before.
Using my build, you are guaranteed to be the most hated person in the game.
Because of the Ap scaling on the 90 Calibre Net, you will never need to actually auto-attack the people you're facing. This is because you have a Nuke which deals upwards of 800 damage every 30 seconds.
I get Deathcaps because of the great AP to cost ratio, using Deathcaps you will never need to fear, as having the stacking passives will ensure that you reach over 800AP. You can have your first Deathcap before minions spawn if the other team obliges to group for you, but seeing as no-one uses this strategy any more, you'll have to wait for around the 40 minute mark to get your first Deathcap.
The main focus in this skill sequence is the Net, as should be obvious. It is Caitlyn's only skill which scales with AP, and should be spammed to maximise effectiveness.
One point of Piltover is taken early on in order to aid with harassment and farming, but levelling it up further is pyrrhic, as that would be the route taken by an orthodox Caitlyn.
You should take the Snap trap when ever you think your net is powerful enough, hence the majority of points invested are in latter levels.
Ace in the Hole is a mediocre skill, and is the main reason team fights should be avoided, using this skill you can killsteal from behind a tower, and if followed up by a piltover and Net, will lead to many Penta-kills mid game.
Creeping / Jungling
If your team is desperate because that noob on your team wants to be Lanewick, have no fear.
If you are playing this build you will be able to Jungle with ease, and the ganking possibilities with the net are limitless. She can Dragon solo at level 12, and Baron at level 13, this is because it takes this long to build up enough Deathcaps to be able to damage them.
Her piltover can be used to jungle, so if you need to Jungle, it may be a good idea to get piltover at level one instead of traps.
Another thing to note is that you can proc her passive faster by attacking through brush, simply stand next to blue golem or whoever in the push and attack, this will increase your DPS output by approximately 40%, so it should not be overlooked.
Pros / Cons
Low cool-down nuke
Great scaling on AP skills
Can demolish tanks
Best solo lane shy of Maplhite
Can't be countered by Thornmail
Best killstealer Shy or Karthus
Allows for multiple bouts of ****talk
No real escape mechanism, because of nuke
May get you banned for being a noob
As you can see, the Pros far outweigh the Cons.
Feel free to experiment with this build, another good early game one I found is all Doran's Rings. This gives her enough mana regen and AP to be deadly mid game, and from this each ring upgraded into a Deathcap.
The only counter to this build is the infamous OP AS Cho-garth.
