Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This build is my first serious build. However i am not going to go into too much detail as i feel the champion is relatively easy to get the hang of.
Ideally you want to achieve as many early creep kills as possible with this hero. This is due to the fact that as soon as you aquire some boots and a B.F. sword you are amazingly OP.
Not only this, Caitlyn has a very long range and when combined with her passive this can be a deadly combo.
This has to be one of the easiest heroes to farm with due to your amazing range and damage when your passive ability procs. Simply hit from the brush standing a fair distance back and either save your 8th shot (4th if you have been in the brush for the whole duration) for enemy Champions or use the procs to achieve vital last hits.
As far as teamwork is concerned, this hero CAN BE very effective. This is due to your incredibly handy traps and also your Net. Your net can be a deciding factor in whether you or your teammates live to fight another battle as it has quite a long range and can be used while in the fight both to further your distance from an oncoming enemy or simply slow him so you and your team can run.
Also, the cake traps are amazing fun to play around with because they completely immobilize enemys for a short period. This is particularily funny as it kinda counters Guardians Angel because you simply place a trap on the floor where the person has died. The trap sets in one second and then catches the enemy in his steps and nearly always ensures an easy kill. The traps can also be used to scout (good for around Baron) and other usual places you would expect to find the enemy.
Unlike most other builds for Caitlyn, this build does not go all out attack from the start, and although you may find your damage is slightly reduced by following this build, towards endgame you will find yourself to be a force to be feared as your extra survivability will help you defend alone and push alone while being fearsome in a tense 1v1 battle.
So in conclusion, i would say that this hero is devastating if played correctly, however i really hope that RiOT dont nerf her because i feel that she does have her weaknesses unless played more defensively. A really obvious example of this was when i faced an enemy Caitlyn playing pure damage build. And really there was no competition as i 4 hit her while avoiding her abilities.
Definately worth a try in my eyes and i hope you enjoyed my build, as i said this is my first ever build so please leave constructive comments to help me improve for the future.
