Caitlyn is an amazing ranged dps. She does fairly high damage at low level and if you get the right items, she can do high damage through the whole game. But be careful because Caitlyn is also very squishy. This is my guide i use in my opinion because i do well in most of my games.

Greater Mark of desolation greater quintessence of desolation

In my opinion i have Armor Pen Crit Chance and Magic Pen because it is basically everything Caitlyn needs.

Armor Pen can help this skill alot because it is physical damage.
and both do magic damage

Caitlyn is able to jungle where ever there is brush because of her passive. Her passive can do great damage because of the crits to creeps. She can easily do red and blue buff when she does decent amount of damage.

Headshot
Every 8 attacks (attacks while in brush count as 2), Caitlyn will fire a headshot, dealing either 150% damage to a champion or 250% damage to a minion. Use this skill to your advantage because early game you can deal a lot of damage if your in brush because if your crits.

Piltover Peacemaker
Caitlyn revs up her rifle for 1 second to unleash a penetrating shot which deals physical damage (deals less damage to subsequent targets). I like to use this skill to harass early game but don't use it too much because it takes up a lot of mana.

Yordle Snap Trap
Caitlyn sets a trap to reveal sneaky yordles. When sprung, the trap immobilizes the champion and deals magic damage over 1.5 seconds. Use this skill to your advantage, place them in places that they would most likely walk into when they try to hide or chase you.

90 Caliber Net
Caitlyn fires a heavy net to slow her target, the recoil knocks Caitlyn back. This skill can be very useful in some situations, it can push you away from a gank or it can even help you in a gank by slowing the other champion.

Ace in the Hole
Caitlyn takes time to line up the perfect shot, dealing massive damage to a single target at a huge range. Enemy champions can intercept the bullet for their ally. I personally love this ult. Mostly because it has crazy range and if you have the right items, it can do high damaage.

Doran's Blade
I like to buy doran's blade + a in the beginning of the game because it gives damage and health for survivability.

Berserker's Greaves
I usually don't have to go back till i'm level 5 or 6, so when i go back i straight up buy Berserker's Greaves. If you have hard time slowly build up to them. This item helps with your attack speed.

Last Whisper
Most of Caitlyns skills and her auto attack is physical damage. Last Whisper can help a lot if they have high armor.

Infinity Edge
I like to get Infinity edge third because it helps with the damage and makes the passive skills crit higher.

Phantom Dancer
Since we have kinda of high damage now. We can focus a little on attack speed. Phantom dancer is great because it gives movement and attack speed and also raises your crit chance.

The Black Cleaver
Since the patch The Black Cleaver received attack speed but a little reduce of damage. This item can help Caitlyn a lot because of the speed, damage and the passive of the item.

The Bloodthirster
The last item i like to get is Bloodthirster because of the damage and of the lifesteal.

Early Game
When you play as Caitlyn you have to be careful of your surroundings because she is very squishy. Start of with a and a for bonus damage and survivability.

When you lane, choose either top or bot because they have brush that can be your advantage. Mid has brush but it is not in the aim sight of your opponent. When you lane use the brushes to stack up your skill and last hit creeps or hit the champions to harass them

When your are around lvl 5 or 6 you can back if you want your items or if your doing fine in your lane you can stay as long as you can. but remember Caitlyn can be very dependent on her items. When you back, buy your so you get more attack speed. If you have enough money you can start building your

One you get your you should be doing some more damage due to the armor pen and +40 damage. It should last you a while.

Mid Game
Once you get 1850g buy a and build a
With this item your passive ability should do a higher crit damage. Now that you have mid damage. You should get some attack speed. is perfect because of the movement and attack speed + the higher crit chance.

Late Game
At this point it should be pretty late in the game and you can either get a Bloodthirster or Black cleaver. You can get either of them first. You want life steal go for first. If you want Speed and damage go for

• Very Squishy
• Pretty Slow Movement Speed
• If Alone, can be very risky
