Ok, so Caitlyn is one of my favorite AD carrys. She has a super long range and deals SO MUCH DAMAGE. Using this build, I have 2 shot squishies including Brand and Katarina easily.

Pros / Cons

One of the best AD carries
You'll be underestimated (element of surprise)
Great escape mechanism with your Net

Squishy (so stay behind your tanks)
No CC (so get Red buff/ Frozen Mallet)

Don't make any changes to the masteries I have laid out. The 9 utility ensures you're the first to level 18 (unless the enemy has been fed). Also, you need the mana regen early game. Cait is very mana-hungry early game and it shows unless you take the extra regen mastery.

I take Armor Pen Quints, and if you don't you'll have to make sure you get [*] Last Whisper in game. If you want you can take Armor Pen Marks, but I prefer to have more attack damage. Make sure you have the ASPD seals, and mana regen glyphs. The ASPD and mana regen help a lot early game and will almost ensure you first blood if you play correctly.

Summoner Spells

TELEPORT!! Is pretty much needed. It allows you to make it across the map in seconds and engage in a team fight started without you. If you have a Shaco who likes placing Boxes everywhere or Teemo that is really good at placing his Shrooms, then this will allow you insane mobility.

Flash is definitely needed. Best escape spell EVER. I can't tell you how many times that flashing over a wall when my Net was on CD saved my butt.

If you need to take Ghost over Teleport then do it. It will ensure your escape, but once you get used to playing Cait, then you won't need it to escape bad situations.

Start with [*]Doran's Blade. It gives you everything you need for early game. Health, Damage and Lifesteal are all important in the laneing phase. Build [*]Berserker's Greaves next, they are the best boots you can get. If you need [*]Mercury's Treads to combat a lot of AP or CC then by all means take them because your survival is crutial to winning team fights. After your boots, get a [*]Vampiric Scepter the lifesteal is extremely necessary and allows you to lane longer than most any other champs if you're harassing properly. [*]B.F. Sword is absolutely necessary. If you weren't able to get enough kills to pay for it early game then get a [*]Pickaxe but the Sword is better. [*]Zeal is absolutely necessary next. The ASPD and Crit will allow you to hit faster and harder. The move speed is a plus as well. That is the early-mid game part of your build. This outlines the skeleton of your essential items but also gives you flexibility to build other situational items if needed.

Mid game, you more than likely want to turn your Pickaxe and B.F. Sword into an [*]Infinity Edge this will give you increased damage, crit chance, and crit damage. Everyone loves that! (If they're on your team. :P) [*]Phantom Dancer is next. The ASPD, crit chance, and move speed are all essential. [*]Bloodthirster finishes the core of your build. after that, look at your enemy's items and build to counter them.

Counter items:
[*]Black Cleaver Is necessary if the enemy team has more than one person with Thornmail if only one person on the enemy team has Thornmail, then delay building the Cleaver and have your AP damage dealers focus them first. Black Cleaver is a necessary item in most cases however because any form of armor will be torn to shreds by your hand if you have it.

[*]Bloodthirster Yes, a second is always good. With full stacks it gives you 25% lifesteal and 100 AD. That's insanity and will allow you to drop the enemy team very quickly.

[*]Last Whisper I only get this if almost all the enemy team has armor. If not, the percent armor pen is wasted and it's better to get the Black Cleaver.

[*]Madred's Bloodrazor Necessary if they have people stacking health and will easily allow you to down tanks in combination with your Black Cleaver.

[*]Phantom Dancer What? Another one? Yes. However this is only to punish enemy's that are stupid for not getting armor, you will crit almost every attack with a second Phantom and will move around the map faster. A second Phantom will also bring you very close to the max ASPD so if your opponents aren't getting armor, punish them for it.

[*]Infinity Edge Ok, you've got to be kidding me. Who would be stupid enough to stack IEs? Ummmm..... It's not a bad idea on Cait. If you have armor pen and want to do more damage and crit more often rather than raising your ASPD and crit with a second Phantom then take another IE. I do not recommend 2 Phantoms and 2 IEs though, that's redundant, one or the other will suffice.

[*]Frozen Mallet If you find that your enemies get away too often and your tanks or other team mates aren't using their CC properly, this more than compensates. I rarely get it, but it's your choice. It'll also make you less squishy if you're worried about that.
