Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
OK. the most important thing I can say is: DON'T DIE. second most important thing is: Feast on CD until 6 stacks, If you don't have 6 stacks of feast then use it on minions. if you save it for champs then you WILL gimp yourself.
I have only played Cho a few times but it seems that the build I have been using works pretty well. I was surprised to find that no one else has published this build already... so I guess I will.
This build focuses on AP, MR and Armor as Cho gets a good bit of health for free.
I go 0/21/9 for masteries because... well the main rule with Cho is "Don't Die!" so we get dodge, health dmg reduction and so on. also pick up the health regen based on mana, because, well.. you have mana. The 9 in utility is mostly to get you to level 6 as quick as possible and there is the nice bonus of mana regen and improved ghost.
For runes i go pretty defensive with fort quints and MR glyphs but because I don't spend any money on spell pen it is important to get at least some from our runes and of course mana regen is a must. you could swap your seals with dodge if you are afraid of getting pwned by dps.
Ok for items.
starting our i get Doran's Ring because it gives me enough health to not have to worry about getting three shot at level 2 and it provides some needed mana regen (Cho's spells are not cheap at early game). In short, this item keeps you in lane and getting to level 6 is your first priority.
the next item you should get is of course boots of speed, as Cho is very slow and if you wait on these you will die or be forced to hug turret.
ideally at the same time as buying boots, you will have enough money to also get your Catalyst of the Protector (this should be the first part of Rod of Ages that you get, because getting healed for health and mana on level is a game changer).
Next finish your rod and sorc boots.
After that start building your abyssal scepter (if the opposing team is heavy on dps, then you can start frozen heart first) remember though that you want to get the defensive parts of these items first, as at this point in the game, the other team will be bringing the hurt.
On your next trip back finish the last item you started building (abyssal scepter or frozen heart) and start the other.
your last item should be banshees, because up until now your MR has been pretty low and the spell shield will help with cc a lot.
at this point if the game goes on further.. get what you need (robadons or more mr or armor).
