Hello. I am JimmothySmith, an Ekko main. I started playing League about a year ago and have mained Ekko for quite a while now. I don't play ranked much, so I don't really have any credentials except for mastery 7. Despite that, I'll try to teach you something new using this guide.

In this guide, I will teach you Ekko's build for items and runes while trying to explain the why for everything as best as possible. I will also give some tips for gameplay and mechanics.

I'm new to Mobafire and all of its features. I'll be trying to work on the formatting of this guide over time, so be patient with me in that regard :)

Passive: Z-Drive Resonance Hitting an enemy 3 times gives an extra bit of damage. Gain movement speed if it's a champion. This is an integral part of your burst. Very useful for trading quickly before running away. A good way to proc this is with e-q-aa. Q: Timewinder A skillshot that is launched forward before eventually coming back to you. It also slows the enemy a bit. Great for waveclear and damage. You will usually use this during the first part of your e, which I will explain more in the section about E, but can also be used on its own or after the second part of your E. W: Parallel Convergence An aoe ability that slows enemies as well as stuns them and gives you a shield when you step into it. You can use it as a zoning tool to keep enemies away from a certain area. It can also be used for scouting, as it grants vision in its area. If you want to land it, you'll want to cast it inside of a bush so the enemies are less likely to see the animation. This ability also has a passive, which makes your auto attacks deal percent of missing health damage when the enemy is below 30 percent health. E: Phase Dive A small dash and then a blink with an empowered auto. Great for mobility and damage. It can be used to cancel your Q or W. Just press Q or W right after the initial roll, and it will cancel the animation. R: Chronobreak You gain health and do aoe damage in the location you were 4 seconds ago. It's an insane ability that helps make Ekko so slippery. You can use it as a heal, damager, escape, or in tandem with other abilities such as your W. One popular strategy is to not upgrade R level six. You can surprise the enemy by upgrading your ult and using it immediately, as they won't know where you'll land after using it. Try to experiment with it and the different things that you can do with it.

Flash Flash is essential on Ekko. It's works as an escape, combo helper, you name it. Please bring it. Ignite Ignite is good into easier matchups where you'll have kill pressure. It helps give you that extra burst that you need to kill early game in relatively low elos. Teleport Teleport is good into matchups where you think you'll be poked a lot. With it, you can sustain more poke and tp back to lane. It's also good in higher elo, not that I'd know.

DOMINATION
	Electrocute is a spectacular rune on Ekko. It synergizes very well with his kit and helps you get that extra bit of damage to oneshot people.
	Sudden Impact is another great rune on Ekko. It gives you some nice extra armor and magic pen after your e.
	Eyeball Collection gives you a nice chunk of extra damage if you get ahead.
	Ravenous Hunter is a really nice rune to take. I helps you stay alive in teamfights and other similar situations. You can swap it out for any of the other hunter runes if you want, but I personally think it's the best.
INSPIRATION
	Magical Footwear is a really helpful rune to bring on Ekko. It helps you get to your Rocketbelt powerspike earlier, which helps you deal the most damage possible.
	Biscuit Delivery is a super helpful rune, as it makes your laning phase much more versatile with the extra mana it gives.
SORCERY
	Transcendence is a nice rune to have on Ekko. The ability haste that it gives you is really helpful. You can swap it out for Absolute Focus based on preference.
	You can swap this rune out for pretty much any of the other runes, as none of them are very useful. I prefer to bring Gathering Storm and use sorcery secondary as a scaling runepage.
Prescision
	Presence of Mind is a nice rune to have. It's easy to run out of mana early game, so it can be really helpful.
	Legend: Tenacity is a good rune to bring into comps with high cc. If Coup de Grace is a nice substitute if you want to run precision secondary against a team that doesn't have much cc.

Doran's Ring The best starting item right now. The AP and mana regen it gives you are really helpful. Dark Seal A great item on Ekko. With your ult and W, you can be quite hard to kill, making it relatively easy to stack up. Amplifying Tome Amplifying tome is a good item to buy if you don't have enough gold to get anything else. It builds into Hextech Rocketbelt as well as some other items such as Void Staff that you will often get. Blasting Wand A good item to buy early on if you have enough gold. It builds into Rocketbelt and gives you a good chunk of AP to work with. Mejai's Soulstealer Another great item on Ekko. If you have a good amount of stacks on your Dark Seal and are fairly confident you won't lose them, upgrade it to Mejai's. The extra AP is spectacular. Hextech Rocketbelt The best mythic for Ekko right now. The AP is obviously great, the health helps you survive, and the active helps give you extra burst with your e-q-rocketbelt-aa as well as stick to people better in extended trades. Nashor's Tooth Nashor's Tooth is a good overall item on Ekko. The attack speed helps with damage and split pushing. The AP and passive are good with burst. Lich Bane Decent for the extra damage it gives you. The movement speed is also helpful. Void Staff Yet another good item. It's cheap and gives you a lot of extra damage combined with Rocketbelt's mythic passive. Sorcerer's Shoes The go-to boots for Ekko due to the extra damage that they give you. Mercury's Treads Don't quite give you the damage of Sorcs, but a good option nonetheless. Good to buy against magic damage or CC heavy teams. Rabadon's Deathcap BIG DAMAGE. A good item to get most games, especially if you're ahead. Because, like I said, big damage. Oblivion Orb In season 11, Oblivion Orb gives grievous wounds. This is extremely helpful because if the enemy has a lot of healing but not quite enough to deserve you getting Morellonomicon, then you can get Oblivion Orb. Morellonomicon A good item to get late game if the enemy team has a lot of healing. You sacrifice a bit of damage by getting this item, so it's not good unless the enemy has a lot of healing. Seeker's Armguard A good item for survivability if the enemy team is mostly AD. Also good if you're against a fed AD midlaner like Zed or Talon. Zhonya's Hourglass Usually not the best item, as you will sacrifice some damage buying it. However, it can be good if you think you need the survivability. It can be combined with your W to get a free stun. Banshee's Veil A good item against a magic damage heavy team or instant death CC like Blitzcrank. Cosmic Drive Cosmic Drive can be a good item to get for the extra ability haste and movement speed.
