Great guide. Wondering why you suggest frozen mallet instead of black cleaver. Is this due to the ease of the auto attacks (due to the slow) with the press the attack, doing more damage than the blackcleaver armour pen. Thanks

thanks, well I personally like to build both but yeah I usually build frozen mallet first as the slow just feels too good as long as you're against a champion that isn't very mobile. There's a few matchups where I think black cleaver is better but generally the frozen mallet perma slow is just such good zoning against a meele champion.

I used your build and I really liked it, you did a great job. I just wanted to ask you what do you think about cooldown reduction or scailing cooldown reduction glyphs? I tried those too with a mix of some attack speed and it worked out great

Thanks man, I think cooldown reduction would work and yeah my new runepage that I'm going update on here today uses some attack speed glphys. I'm personally going to be running no cdr glphys but I think they would work fine on gnar since cdr is good on him.

May i suggest Sterak's Gage? It will help u on unexpexted ganks/initiates in ur mini form, and will give huge boost on mega when the passive is activated.

Sterak's does seem pretty decent now that it's updated, I did build it in one of my games on my second account and I didn't really care for it but that's only one game of testing so it could be good, I think it might be an item you go if you get really fed early or if you want to be super defensive, I still need to do more testing with it though.

Attack Speed marks + Attack Damage quints is inefficient. You get more value out of swapping them (AD marks and AS quints) because AS quints are super strong.

Hmm yeah you're right, I did the math on it and AS quints do give a better ratio then AD quints in terms of overall stats, I'm going to redo the runes part then with something I've been testing that seems more optimal.

What a gorgeous guide! Such great use of graphics and coding!!! Innovative, neat and not over-powering at all. Keep up the excellent work. I noticed Gargoyle Stoneplate wasn't capitalised in the item section. +1

Great-looking guide, but I feel like the cheatsheet is a bit empty. Mercury's Treads could be added there. I also feel like Guardian Angel is a bit strange, especially since there are no alternatives listed. 50% of base HP isn't that much, especially if you die in mini Gnar, and I feel that in some games it's going to be more important to have those up-front stats than the revive passive.

I'm surprised at the absence of other tank items like Adaptive Helm and Randuin's Omen. I think the build you have seems good, but not good in every game. I don't think I would build so much armor against a Kog'Maw or a double/triple AP comp, for example.

Don't let my criticism discourage you, I haven't downvoted or anything. Just something I noticed and wanted to ask about.

Hey thanks for the feedback, I always love getting feedback since I'm still pretty new to guide making. I agree with you 100% on GA and honestly even thornmail being situational items, although I do think GA is very strong in late game since an extra 50% life can be game changing at this point in the game in comparison to other items, but I am definitely going to add alternative builds because I think that is an issue too, I will even say that on most champions there should never be one specific build that you go every game although there is probably a few cases of that, but it is quite rare, I think adapting to the match is a big part of the game.

Why not Gnar ADC? I mean he is long ranged, and his MegaGnar form seems great in a lane against two others, what could possibly go wrong?

you could play him as adc although I think he fits better top lane since he is a tank and usually ADC's want to be always ranged, I think his mega would be bad for teamfights as an ADC.
