Introduction to Riven

I have been playing Riven since release, attempted over 15 builds with her, and I have finally found one that is viable and WILL work. This guide will make you tanky so you wont melt in a fight and also do a lot of damage. I have seen many Rivens since release, and have collected much information to build a successful Riven.

NOTE: THIS GUIDE IS A WORK-IN-PROGRESS, THE BUILD HERE HAS BEEN TESTED IN OVER 20 GAMES, AND PERFORMED WELL IN ALL OF THEM. I WILL CONTINUE TO EDIT THIS BUILD AS I PLAY HER. I AM FINE WITH CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM BUT DO NOT JUDGE THIS BUILD UNTIL YOU HAVE TRIED IT. RATE AND COMMENT TO HELP IMPROVE THIS BUILD.

Marks Of AD?!? WTF?! Is probably what you're thinking. This is what I thought too. The reason why you want to get these marks is because all her abilities scale off BONUS AD and not flat AD. I wouldn't recommend AD marks to anyone, but I have purchased these and these work MUCH BETTER than armor pen. You will have 21 bonus ad at lvl 1, which increases her abilities by a substantial amount compared to the regular 13.

Greater Seals of Resillience will provice you with flat armor to sustain yourself and make you have less vulnerability to AD champions early game as you have less armor than MR early game.

Greater Glyphs of Focus is just what Riven needs since she is based purely on cooldowns. It will give you the ability to use your skills, without waiting for it to CD for ages. These are much better than per lvl CD because she needs this early game to perform well.

Greater Quintessences of Desolation are used for some armor pen. The reason I use these is because the 7 armor pen is just about the right amount to cut their armor in half at lvl 1. You will do more damage with these than with 25 armor pen at lvl 1 with armor pen marks.

Greater Quintessence of Swiftness. The reason I chose this is because at lvl 1, she will have 330 movement speed, which is the highest base speed in the game. You will have no trouble catching up to people who dont run boots at lvl 1, or run movement enchancing masteries, or quints. If you feel like this quint just isn't for you, running another Quint of Desolation is fine too.
