I think this build is really strong early game. If you're maxing his Seastone Trident early, the early Malady is really helpful because the items passive is allowing you to deal further magic damage to your auto attacks and at a much faster rate. This hybrid AD/AP build will allow you to get more kills early on so you will have the gold for those late game items and still be able to be a major player late game. It's also really fun to play.
