Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
The pros. Its fun to play sion, you can tank while not really tanking, you have quite a bit of mana and enough ap to blast someones face off and ad to just chop your way through an enemy champion. The bad parts? Well your pretty squishy at the start and mana hungry so try not to spam your ****. You arent relatively fast but are on par with most of the champions.
Tips: Dont jump into every fight without backup unless its 1v1 and you know you can take them. Map awareness always. Make sure you last hit minions with enrage on so you get the bonus hp. Have fun and try not to rage or feed.
Alright the update i promised is coming around. Im going to throw out a few ways to play sion that will teach you how to use his skills and items to your advantage. Cryptic gaze is probably the most useful skill in your entire arsenal. Its a high damaging stun that will let you wail on your opponent for a few seconds with a relatively short cooldown. Your second skill is your Mana shield. This can absorb a certain amount of damage, great for face checking bushes, taking damage or just for killing minion waves easily since it causes damage as well. After about 3 seconds of casting the shield you can click it again to use it from that 3 second period to ten but if it takes too much damage then it will break. Sions third skill is called Enrage, it increases his attack damage and is a toggle skill. The very minor downfall is that it takes health every time you hit something with it activated. The major upside is that for every last hit on anything you get permanent max hp up depending on the lvl of the skill. Finally Sion's ultimate a very useful skill solo or team fighting. It grants major lifesteal and attack speed as well as healing allied units that are extremely close for about half of what you heal.
Now for the strategies. Once you get your tear of the goddess you should use your Death's carress (mana shield) in your base and along the way to your lane or whenever you can to increase your mana. When in battle make sure you engage with your shield stun them and if you have it use your ult. ALWAYS have enrage on the odds of it actually screwing you over during combat is extremely low since it only takes about 8 hp and you will have enough lifesteal to easily out do that. During 1v1 make sure you are map aware and dont get ganked. Just because you have a shield doesnt make you invincible and you still get stunned and suppressed etc etc. Hope you enjoyed my build read and comment.
