Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Short Build description at the moment as I prefer spending time at other things than this, but you'll easily get it I hope...
I've looked a several builds for Irelia and I only partially agree with them. This is the best I've tried so far as it gives you AS, survivability, and lots of damage.
You'll be jungling early game, with cloth armor and 5 pots, first going for golems with smite, then wolves, then those ghost thingies over and over untill you are out of mana.
Back to base and get madred's razor, and you're off to clean out the jungle while helping out the lanes if needed or just going for the gank.
The dragon will be easy by the time you have bersrker grieves+madred's razor, just be careful to wards and possible ganking around there.
You'll have quite a lot of gold and equipment by level 11-12 thanks to madred's razor, jungling and the few kills/assists. Try pushing whenever possible as Irelia's AS and life restoration on turrets is really strong.
5v5 and End Game:
Don't be jumping in to battle before your teammates... You're not a tank, eventhough your equipment (health) brings you to 2k5 HP and your base armor is pretty good. You'll want activate hiten style and jump in on the weaker carrys who's HP will just be falling in no time thanks to true damage+bloodrazor+malady...
Your ultimate is awesome with big fights, as the swords launch in the same direction as your mouse (so you'll be able to run away and cast). The more creeps+heroes it goes through, the better life regen.
If a single ennemy is chasing you, you can always stun them with your lower hp and get the kill if it's worth it.
Equipment details :
Jungling will get you high on XP and gold, while your solo lane teammate should be close to his turret getting full XP.
Madred + Malady + Hiten style = you sum up all the damage with your base AD and the numbers get pretty high thanks to maladay's MR reduction.
Phage/Frozen Mallet will get your HP high (needed because Irelia is quite squishy), and it also slows your target.
Stark's Fervor will boost your teammates, give you the needed lifesteal and AS, and pretty much make turrets useless.
I like to go 22/0/8. full damage, with the basic utilities needed such as Haste and Awareness. Basically if you XP faster in the jungle, you'll have a good advantage when facing lower level ennemies and it's just pure pleasure.
In the offensive tree, you'll need AS, MAgic penetration for your madred and malady as well as your spells, and just more damage.
